The game or the fapping?
-
No red flags. That's a really good computer. The only thing that could be a setback is the resolution of that huge screen. I couldn't find what it was, but I hope it's 1920x1080.. That GPU can handle it.

The problem is that Hitman games, fundamentally, shouldn't play like what I have seen in that video. But maybe it's just the tutorial level and the sandbox levels and the complexity are still there. The Hitman games shouldn't play like the developers, who are the ones making these games, want. But instead they should play like the Hitman games only you can see in your head. Ok then. Gotcha.

I bought Dark Souls too. I have a very differing opinion. I was reading the reviews and everywhere it said the combat is so precise, the deaths are never unfair, it is only your own fault blah blah. Well, I started playing. I click the "light attack" button and my character stumbles around for 1-2 seconds before slowly swinging his sword about. And he ALWAYS takes a step forward! It doesn't feel precise. It feels sluggish and slow. Anyhow, I thought I could get used to that and trekked into the game. I made it through the introduction (after dying probably 10 times) and ended up in the first area. I go one way and I meet enemies I can't hit. I go another way and I meet enemies who kill me in two hits and can swing their swords ten times faster than me. I go a third way and my character stumbles off a ledge because he takes a step forward when I try to swing my sword. I don't know.. I like a challenge (see the Gothic games for that). I usually enjoy action RPG's (see the Gothic games again for that). But this.. It's just not fun. There's no excitement to be had because you already know that you will be killed by anything and everything. I don't even try to survive. I just walk up to enemies and whack them with my sword. If I survive for two seconds, I know it's the right way. If I die immediately, I just go somewhere else. Trial and really boring error. Oh, and if you ever think about saving, everything in the game world resets and you have to start over. I mean.. I know it's supposed to be hard and all, but that also turns the game into a meaningless grind. Same with deaths. You need to go back to where you died to regain your experience points (souls) so everytime you try a new enemy that's too strong for you, you need to go back there again after you died if you want to have any xp at all. And everytime you die, the game resets and you need to start over.. except the bonuses that you find. They don't reset. Only the enemies and the traps. Maybe it will be more fun later, if my character levels up and becomes faster. But right now it feels slow and sluggish, unfair and grindy, random and pointless. I really hope I am wrong. There is no way to know beforehand which monsters are too strong for you. I met a knight with full armour, shield and sword, and dispatched him with 3-4 strikes. I met a skeleton with just a sword and he killed me in two seconds.

This is something that's so important for me, yet Bethesda never seems to get credit for it. Loading times (and saving times) in Oblivion/Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas are phenomenal! I am always amazed at how quickly I can load up the game and quickload/quicksave anywhwere within a second! That gigantic world feels like it should take longer to place in memory. Compare this speed to UE3 games. They feel so sluggish and top-heavy in comparison. I remember Gothic 3 (unpatched) took 30 seconds to a minute to load a save. In a game where you die very often, that's not so good.. Very happy to hear Bethesda has managed to continue this tradition. Big plus for Skyrim in my book!

Good riddance, I say. Not only the team, the entire league is better without that fool. I looked at the roster for Toronto today. I don't even recognize half the names. I don't know if I've lost interest in the sport or what's happening, but ever since Sundin left I haven't been able to muster up any enthusiasm for my team. I hope it's just a phase.

Wow.. I was going to buy RAGE since it seems right up my alley. BUT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5oEdfT4OWY Videos like these are popping up everywhere. Apparently RAGE on the PC is a technical fiasco! FROM ID!! That's the last thing I would expect!

I actually think Miami is a good idea. They could break completely with the current design aesthetics of Fallout and let Miami be a ruined ghost town that nature is rapidly reclaiming for itself. I can imagine all those neon colours, now faded, partially overgrown with vines and weird mosses and stuff. Big trees growing everywhere, everything covered in plants, water in the streets.. Mutant crocodiles. I'd like it. It would be very different.

The horrible thing is that I vaguely remember finding the toy in my first playthrough, but I never found a use for it. In my third playthrough I found the little girl.. but had completely forgotten where to find Mr. Cuddles!

I finally got to play Dead Island tonight with my cousin in co-op. We didn't get very far, but I really enjoyed it. Graphics are awesome! A little bit annoying that the weapons break so fast though. I went with Ms. Pantyless, and even though I put all my level up points in better stamina for my weapons, they still break after every two battles or so.

Yeah. I actually bought it from Ebay a year or so ago. It's an excellent game! It's a travesty that it was never released in the west with proper localization. It's what I wished Mass Effect would have been. Big maps on different planets with lots of stuff to do. You can drive vehicles, solve side quests, combat very tough enemies, make moral choices, level up, etc, etc. Then, when you have exhausted everything to do on one planet, you actually get in your spaceship and fly away! None of the cutscene BS, you actually fly your ship to another planet and continue your questing there. With space combat! Very ambitious game. Because of the shonky translation, the dialogue and story isn't as good as one would have hoped. But still, I thought it was an excellent game. Edit: Had to add this picture.. Those Ukrainians sure know how to design an attractive DVD box..

Path of Exile. Surprisingly good, and it's just a beta. In approximately two weeks time there will be a new patch that will change most of the game though. Will be interesting.

Don't worry, I won a contest. I'm in. And my post was supposed to be a joke anyhow.

Looks sweet, thanks. Turns out some other online friends are all playing, I might be able to get a friend invite from one of them faster than the company deciding to choose me. We'll see/I'll hope! What?! Ok, then I expect an invite from YOU in the near future for giving such excellent gaming suggestions!
-
Seriously, you need to check out Path of Exile then. There's no way of knowing if you get into the beta, but sign up for it, and if you're lucky you'll get an invite by email. It's like if Diablo 2 and Guild Wars had a bastard baby (Diablo 2 gameplay and Guild Wars online functionality). http://www.pathofexile.com/

Omg, I am an idiot. I was expecting the challenges to be sort of like mini-missions that I would get from the Gun Runner headquarters or something. Turns out it's just the same type of challenges that are already in the game.. I noticed this when I entered a cavern full of deathclaws and all of a sudden earned a couple of achievements/challenges just by trying to stay alive. Mini missions (like the ones outside the campaign in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2) would have been cooler

Ok, so I bought the Gunrunners Arsenal DLC, but how do I 'find' it in the game? I mean, I got the text that I should seek out the Gunrunner representatives to see the new stash, but.. there has to be more to it than that, right? Where do I find the challenges, for example? I didn't just buy new weapons, right..? I bought the Bozar in-game, but it feels a little cheesy. Don't know why.

I didn't mean I felt shafted, I meant it was fun so I wanted more of it.

I wanted to see if my Xbox still worked, so I started it up and bought an indie game called Dead Pixels. Sort of a side-scrolling 2D RPG. It was fun, but it was over in 3 hours! Glad to see that red ring inducing piece of sh..tech still worked though.
-
I actually signed up at their forums some days ago for a chance to win a beta key. No luck so far. Right now I have this strange craving to play simple hack'n'slash games. I don't know why.
-
You know.. that's the next game I'm buying for my almost forgotten Xbox 360. I've only bought a few games, all games that have not appeared on PC, but I have been burnt too many times. Enslaved, anyone?! I played Demon's Souls on my cousin's PS3 though. If Dark Souls is anything like that, I'm in. If my Xbox 360 still works..

Want to know something sad? I saw the achievements (are they called that?) on Steam and now I want to play that Gun pack that's coming out soon. Yeah, I'm that easy.
-
Finished it tonight. Definitely worth my money. I'm OK with it being the last DLC for New Vegas. I've played the game for 300 hours now and it feels like it is enough. Bring on the next open-world project, I say!

I think I'm going to start randomly adding you guys from SoDOFF.. beware. Getting tired of waiting for my cousin to be able to play Dead Island co-op. And Borderlands.
