  1. My gym has a pool, a sauna, a ****load of training equipment, personal trainers, cardio machines and girls. Girls everywhere. Pretty girls. In yoga pants. Did I mention girls? It costs $550 per year though, but my job pays for approximately half of that.
  2. Ok, I have to ramble a little bit more. LEAFS! 41 POINTS! BEATING THE DUCKS TONITE! We're actually having an OK season so far. Who knew.
  3. I predict a huge influx of posters who have "just bought the game" in these next few hours/days. (It's been cracked)
  4. Cleaning the Stojanow river was my favourite moment of that game. I remember the awe I felt when they actually showed the river cleaning up and the vegetation growing back.
  5. RPG's are better than ever before. I have no idea what you guys are on about.
  6. Any tips on great mods you can recommend so that I can forget about them just in time for my next playthrough in a few years?
  7. Great write-up so far, btw.
  8. Weird. I, too, can barely remember Sokol Keep, but those trolls were horrible. I remember it took me like.. 20 or something tries before the rolls went my way and I could finally defeat them. Yeah, they were a huge step up in difficulty and almost seemed misplaced in that low level area. Also, the first time I played the game I had no idea what the "Detect magic" spell did. It seemed useless to me. It wasn't until years later that I realized they make it possible to find magic equipment! I actually played through the game without ever finding magic stuff (except the already identified magic stuff, of course). No wonder I thought the game was so difficult..
  9. Where did you order from?
  10. Got quite a few games this time. Wasteland 2 being one of them. Not sure why. I didn't actually want any of the games (except Wasteland 2).
  11. Pool of Radiance was the first RPG I ever played. Also, to date, the only game with D&D rules I've enjoyed (all other D&D games I've played despite D&D). Will be fun to see how much of the hidden stuff you find.
  12. So prove it. Show me the links to a reputable tech site that managed to reproduce this claim.
  13. Thanks. Been wondering why noone has commented on this game. I didn't buy it because.. well, it just looked dull from all the trailers and such. I think I'll wait for a sale and Borderlands 3 instead.
  14. Yeah, they did. It's made for the Chinese market and less than 2% (or some number around that order of magnitude) used NFC so they removed it. Dropped the ball is a bit harsh though, it's not exactly a bad phone: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/08/xiaomi-mi4-review-chinas-iphone-killer-is-unoriginal-but-amazing/ The latest version of MIUI (V6) is not as feature complete as MIUI V5 (the one on MI2S) so people are complaining about that too. I don't really mind though. I bought the MI2S very early (pre-ordered actually) so I know what happens to the phone during its lifetime. When I got mine, it was bare bones and buggy. But every Friday they released a new update, like clockwork. And every Friday for at least a year my phone just kept getting better and better. It's been incredibly satisfying to follow this development and every Friday's been like a little Christmas for my phone. Since they released the MI3 and now MI4, the MI2S isn't getting as much love in the updates any more. But it's OK, it's pretty damn good already.
  15. OMGGGG WELCOME TO 2012!!1! Actually, congratulations. It's pretty difficult to not be impressed by Xiaomi's products once you get your hands on them. And yes, the MIUI phone version is truly excellent. I'm waiting for the Xiaomi MI4 to be released with European 4G and then maybe I'll jump on it. I'm honestly not as impressed by its hardware as I have been in the past (they usually use the very very top edge of the current top-of-the-line hardware, but this time they released a Snapdragon 801-powered device just when Snapdragon 805 reared its head..). It's kind of a pretty phone though and build quality is said to be excellent, as is par for the course with Xiaomi:
  16. Wow.. GTA5 in first person mode. It might be awesome. I just remember how much i struggled with the controls of my third person Niko in GTA4 (especially the shooting) so this really is a great surprise.
  17. Am I the only one who can't see **** in the Bayonetta 2 screenshots? It looks like if my dog ate a box of crayons and vomited on my screen.
  18. He murdered a girl and gets out in two years. It may be fair (I don't know all the details surrounding the case) but it makes me wonder if him being a national hero didn't influence the seemingly lax verdict.
  19. I bought Assassin's Creed: Black Flag the other day (a year after everyone else..) and I'm surprised at how good this game is. I'm one of the people who played Assassin's Creed and didn't think it was too repetitive (ok, maybe just a little..), thought Assassin's Creed 2 was brilliant, slogged through Assassin's Creed 3 despite it being less than fun sometimes and really thought I had burned out on creeding. Turns out I wasn't, it was only Assassin's Creed 3 that was a bit crap. I'm amazed at the technical level of Black Flag. I go from better tomb raiding than Lara Croft ever managed seamlessly into parkouring better than.. uh.. previous Assassin's Creed games through a bigger and better city than any Elder Scrolls game has ever produced.. and then, after having gone through combat a thousand times better than my beloved Risen games, I seamlessly jump on a ship and head out on a completely open ocean where I'm free to jump from ship to ship or ship to island or ship to another equally huge city. There are countless treasures to find, puzzles to solve, areas to explore, upgrades to craft (for myself, my boat and my mansion), trade routes to populate, assassinating to be done, templars to be hunted, convoys to be sunk and legendary ships to be found. All of this without the game ever feeling overwhelming. They really nailed the technical bit and the pacing. I'm at something like 37% completion and I've barely touched the main story. I haven't even unlocked half the equipment/skills my character has access to yet! I'm looking forward to unlocking the diving bell so I can start diving for treasure. Yes, there seems to be diving in there too.. It really is a great game.
  20. It might have been mentioned in this thread before, but because I can't be arsed to search and I thought it looked cool, here's Rebel Galaxy: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/10/15/rebel-galaxy-torchlight-veterans/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtg56RGq0OY It looks pretty great from that two minute trailer.
  21. We won another one!! Is that a Stanley Cup I see in the distance..? *delirious*
  22. Geez.. Toronto won one. I should probably celebrate.
  23. So.. 7 of the 50 best bars in the world are in New York. Right. Got it.
  24. I'm glad someone else has caught up with the constant stream of bs from our self-appointed expert in everything. This one's for you, Hurlshot: (one of my friends getting ready for Saturday night) (tired of the constant spam of celebrities in this thread)
  25. Just thought I'd let you guys know about the app "Untappd" that me and my friends use. It's an app that lets you see what people in the neighbourhood are drinking, what your friends are drinking, what you should drink next, and so on. I think it's only for beer though. I like it, it's fun.
