My wish for a Windows OS would be Windows Pure ©: an empty, tiny OS that runs applications only. Nothing else. Let me choose my browser. Let me choose my firewall. Let me choose my file manager. Let me chose my music player. STOP SHOVING YOUR **** DOWN MY THROAT, MICROSOFT!! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR BLOATWARE!

If you're going to try and ridicule someone for not having the same taste as you dinosaurs, can't you at least be funny? Or witty?

I usually only eat at McDonald's when I'm in a foreign country and I don't feel like paying a billion schlireuitiniquitos (or whatever the currency is at the time) for extra firm goat's testicles dipped in bull ****, just because I didn't know the language well enough. Had enough of those experiences in my life. Also, it's quite handy when you're in a hurry. Of course, my stomach is always in a hurry to become hungry again after eating at McDonald's so I'm not sure I actually save any time..

So you're saying you drank 21.5 beer and more than one bottle of booze EACH in two days? Right. That's excluding the wine.

I'm actually playing Anvil of Dawn from time to time. Surprisingly good game with graphics that are good enough today, still. They must have been amazing when the game was released back in 1995..

Even if it was Bethesda doing it?

I'm back to playing Gothic 3 (after a very short Bioshock break.. too short, in fact), so here goes: I love how this game keeps track of where your arrows hit! Just look at that tight cluster (the one in the neck was used to lure the beast to me). Robinson Crusoe didn't make it.

Boohoo, my old level 60 paladin is not visible in the armoury. Is it because I haven't logged in since June 2005? I had no cool gear though, I gave it all away since I knew I wouldn't be playing for long. I played from release day in Europe (February 11, 2005) until June the same year. But I managed to log over 1000 hours during those short months!

I'd probably forget that I was a girl and walk straight into the men's dressing room at the gym and stuff. And I would be a total ****! I mean, I am assuming I actually was a girl and enjoyed whatever it is they.. uh.. enjoy so I'd take advantage of the stuff that women get for free. I'd go out to a club and sometime like five minutes before closing time, I'd climb a table and yell, "OK, guys, I am going home in five. Who's coming with me? Raise your hand!". Then it's just a matter of picking out the top three cute ones.

That's always a problem when you're reviewing games. I used to ask to not have to review strategy games because I just don't play that genre. We at Spel2 have stated our main genre and secondary genres so the guy responsible for sending out the games has some clue as to who gets what. It doesn't always work though because games seems to come in packs. If we get ten strategy games in one week, everyone gets to review strategy games. Besides, when you set a score for a game, you usually aim for the score that the "masses" would have most use for. A review score is mostly aimed at the people who are more casual gamers and don't have time/interest to read a billion reviews and previews before purchasing a game. Our statistics show that we always get peak page viewing numbers a month before Christmas. We figure it's parents looking for good games to buy to their kids as Christmas presents. Even if we're not always spot on (we've all made mistakes), I still believe we can be of help to some people. People frequenting a geek gaming board is probably not in that demographics

Strolling around serenely in a beautiful forest in Gothic and suddenly being ass-raped by a pack of wolves was scary to me.

Innebandy is probably one of the wimpiest sports ever invented.

1.5 miles = 2 414,016 meters. 10.5 minutes = 630 seconds. 2414,016/630 ~ 3.8 m/s. It's actually not very difficult to run that fast, but of course not everyone can do it. So you're claiming that you're able to keep a pace of 3.40 per kilometer for eight kilometers straight? I have a really hard time believing that.

I finished Bioshock tonight. Good game, but highly overrated. It was like a Doom 3 made the way Doom 3 should have been made in the first place. But noone should fool themselves over this game: it's a shooter, nothing else. The story in Bioshock is intriguing and well-written, even though I constantly missed dialogue because of the re-spawning enemies. It's difficult to hear someone talk in the middle of a gunfight. The Unreal Engine 3 is a wonder! I constantly got framerates around 80-100 with everything on max and 1280x1024 resolution. Smooth as silk. The art design is also fantastic and the voice-overs are excellent (even though I thought the little girls sounded creepier in the early demo movies). I also loved the combat AI. The physics engine did not impress on me, however. Try stacking crates on top of each other and see what happens, for example. Also, often when you bump into things, they fly away as if a truck hit them at full speed. The game is also way too linear for my taste. There is absolutely no replay value in the level design and since it's very short and lacks multiplayer I actually feel a bit cheated. The plasmids and tonics.. Plasmids are just more weapons, albeit cooler. The tonics could have added a sense of character building to the game (which I think it would have needed) but since no matter if you save or harvest the little girls, you'll still be able to afford exactly everything the game has to offer AND you get to exchange the tonics as you wish, the sense of building gets lots. I've already tried every "character build" there is in this game, I sure as hell won't go back to it after I finished it to try out some more. The hacking mini-game.. What can I say? It was fun the first 23 times, but the last hundred times got old. A bit of variety wouldn't have hurt. I was also surprised to see that there were some games that were impossible to win. That definitely felt more like a bug than a feature. The enemies could have used some variety. There were like five different enemies throughout the entire game! For a game that's supposed to be a sure bet for GOTY, that's a huge flaw. Seriously, five enemy types! I must have forgotten some, right? Those five enemy types were all good and had their own AI schemes, but still.. There were some added features (photography, inventions, weapon upgrades) but those were so simplistic and shallow that they're barely worth mentioning. The photographing felt completely out of place to me, and since there are film rolls everywhere it posed no challenge. It felt more like grinding after a while. The inventions should have been called manufacturing (perhaps it was?). You just collected everything that was loose and hoped for the best by the manufacturing machine. The weapon upgrades.. two per weapon. Not much to say.. All in all, an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately it was too linear and shallow for me to feel completely satisfied. System Shock 3 it ain't. I'd probably give it around 8/10.

All because I was a few hours late to the Junkyard with my expert advice..

To be honest, Icewind Dale is the only IE game I've had the patience to play through to the end.. I guess that alone makes it my favourite. That and the snow

I wish they'd patch in that co-op function they talked about early in STALKER's development. It was cut pretty late. Same with vehicles, although now that I've seen the game, I realize vehicles would have been superfluous. I had imagined STALKER being more like Oblivion in regards to the game world..

Not true. Buy a case from a respected manufacturer like Antec and you're good to go without worries. I just bought the Antec Sonata III for my girlfriend. It comes with a pre-installed Antec EarthWatts 500W PSU.

Thank you for your input. I happen to value your opinions very highly, especially after reading that you take NMA's "journalism" seriously.

Ok, how is it possible for an amateur team to lose with 7-0? Did you play the full 2x45 minutes or what? Were your team undermanned? Was your goalie bought by the opposing team?

Finally, we of excellent musical taste can rejoice! BRITNEY IS BACK! Listen to her leaked (and extraordinarily fantastic) single here: http://perezhilton.com/?p=4747 GO, BRITNEY, GO!
