I use Sapphire and I'm very happy with them. Gigabyte has a rock solid reputation too with ATI cards, so you can't exactly go wrong here. Sometimes (not in this case because of GDDR5) the difference is in different brands of RAM modules on the card. Some manufacturers buy cheap RAM that gets very hot and is slower, other companies buy more costly RAM. Sometimes they have different brands of fans. Sometimes they use cheap conductors and stuff. Things like that may vary. Oh, and check what's in the box too. Gigabyte is probably more generous with software bundles and perhaps even cables/adapters.

Yeah, I updated with the 1.12a patch too and I had to copy some D2xmovies and D2xmusic files before it worked. But now I can put away my CD's! Yay!

Yeah, I read that too. I read he'd gotten $10.5 million offers from somewhere. Either it was just a rumour or he turned it down to play with the reigning champs. I mean, $7.4 million isn't too shabby either. Guess Detroit impressed him during that final series. And I love how Sundin doesn't care about the hysteria in the NHL right now. He's still in Sweden, fishing and golfing..

If you count the times you've played a game and thought "Damn, this game has way too many features, it would have been so much better if only THIS and THAT would have been removed" versus the number of times you've played a game and thought "Damn, this game lacks a few features, it would have been so much better if only THIS and THAT had been added", I think you'll see a pattern emerging. Maybe body dragging wouldn't have made much sense in Doom (for example) but I'm sure I'd been able to have fun with it anyhow. Maybe build morbid towers of bodies? As I see it, you can (almost) not have too many features in a game, as long as the interface is clever (most often situation sensitive). Did you ever play the game Boiling Point (best played patched!)? Did you know that that game was made by a team of 13 (!!) people?

The common denominator for all those games are that they're free-roaming. All, except perhaps Stalker: Clear Sky which hasn't been exactly clear about how they've made the new maps. Also, a surprising amount of them are being developed in eastern Europe or even further east. I don't know why but it seems eastern developers are more in line with my thinking than western developers. Uh, except Japanese developers who just plain suck. Too far east! But I'm extremely happy to see so many free-roaming projects being developed! Gaming future has never looked to bright!

Actually, it is a culture in Finland too. At least in the northern parts of Finland, you have the exact same hunting culture that's common in the northern parts of Sweden. Every hunter has at least one shotgun, one 30-06 (moose hunting rifle) and a low calibre weapon for target practice. Lots of hunters have several shotguns, several high calibre weapons and a few low calibre weapons. Handguns, on the other hand, are very rare in both Sweden and Finland. They are absolutely worthless for hunting so they have no value to the common hunting population.

Yay. We got Niklas Hagman for $3 MILLION A YEAR!! WHO THE **** IS NIKLAS HAGMAN AND WHY IS HE MAKING MORE MONEY THAN ZETTERBERG?!

I can imagine fuel cells and magnetic RAM will change the world the most in the next ten years. Fuel cells will invade everything from cell phones to cars, offering much improved power efficiency. Magnetic RAM will revolutionize everything from computers to MP3-players.

The suicide rate is in all countries death statistics. In Sweden (which has one of the highest suicide rates in the world) mostly middle-age people shoot themselves. Younger people prefer to sleep on train tracks.

Vancouver offered $20 million for Sundin. That's a "little" over the top, I think.. I don't imagine the Leafs can match that.

You do realize that you're living in one of the most weapon dense countries in the world, right?

I found a tome that gave me one free skill point in Diablo 2 last night. That was pretty sweet.

I once played a MUD where they let you reroll (same as re-spec) for half your experience points. It was a powerful deterrent but at least you didn't have to start all over if you made a mistake along the way. Only halfway from the start..

OK, I am confused too. Posting a screenie after all. I am apparently using version 1.11 or something. I'll patch the game if it's sure that I don't have to start over. The screenie tells me that my normal attack does 27-49 damage. The screenie also tells me that my Zeal attack does 47-86 damage. The help screen for Zeal tells me that level 5 Zeal should do 186% damage (would be 50-91 damage). Is that WITH the Sacrifice bonus already included? The help screen for Zeal also tells me that level 15 in Sacrifice should add 180% (15x12%) damage (would be 49-88 damage). Er, no, I don't get it.

Are you, in the same sentence, saying that it's a bad thing that prisoners in Guantanamo has gotten the rights to a fair trial and that it's somehow equal to the attempt of someone that tries to lower gun related deaths in the US..? I seriously doubt that anyone would try to stop everyone in the US from owning 50 private semi-automatic rifles out of spite.
-
Oh! Now I get it! Zeal doesn't add 50-60% damage, it deals 50-60% damage of what your normal attack does and THEN it adds the Sacrifice bonus on top of the lowered damage! Damn, I thought I was going to get double bonuses but one had disappeared due to some bug or something And I'm way too embarrassed about my "build" to post a screenie of it here

Yes, I do! In the Swedish army that calibre is used for material destruction. Meaning, you blow apart engines of moving vehicles, shoot through armoured vehicles, concrete walls, at electric stations, locomotives, you name it. He doesn't really use it for hunting, it's just the license that says so. Sweden is a land of hunters, we love our guns. We also love to regulate who and what for people should own guns. You're not allowed to own a gun purely for recreation or "home defence"..

If only it was that easy.. One simple example.. Unfortunately we humans invented something called "statistics". That means choosing one simple example becomes pointless in the grand scheme of things. It's like saying, "Me and all my friends own PS3's, therefore the PS3 must be the most successful console". Anecdotal. But hey, this is statistics we're talking about. The best thing about statistics is that it never proves anything definitely so there's always room for anecdotal evidence.

This is too funny to pass up on! Quoting myself: Hey, let's check just one post of yours against this statement of mine (not including other random failed trolling attempts)! One. Not with English like this, no. Anyhow: two. Yes, it is! Three! Another one! Four! It's like watching a child who've just picked up a new word. Aha! Number five! Geez, repeat much? Six! Seven. Getting tired. Eight. Nine. You done yet? And that is from one, single post of yours. Your lack of self insight and tiring predictability is almost disturbing. Your self-proclaimed expertise in statistics takes a tumble the same second you try to claim that gun related deaths (of which the US has plenty) are unrelated to guns. And your argument is even more absurd! "There is another country with almost as many guns as the US per capita and they don't have this problem, therefore guns cannot be the problem of gun related deaths in the US!". Causation.. You keep repeating correlation/causation like some kind of mantra, yet cannot even break through the typical black-or-white thinking of a young child. Sweden and Canada have the same amount of guns per capita, both countries being in the top ten in the world when it comes to gun ownership (both having roughly ONE THIRD of the guns per capita as the US does!). In which bizarro world does this tell you, according to your take on statistics, that the amount of guns in circulation amongst a population has nothing to do with the amount of gun related deaths in said population? You pick ONE country out of the set, conveniently chosen to suit your "argument", and claim you know statistics..? There was a study done in 1998 that involved the 36 (or so) richest countries in the world. All countries submitted their internal statistics about gun ownership and gun related deaths, they graphed it and checked to see if the amount of guns could be one of the CAUSES behind gun related deaths. Guess what, the country with the most guns (the US) finished first, the country with the least guns (Japan) finished last. OF COURSE there are countries with more guns and less gun related deaths, it isn't a straight curve, noone knows the full picture, but the pattern emerging from the graph is easily read. Unless you pick out ONE country and try to draw conclusions based on that. Noone has claimed that the amount of guns in the wild is the single cause behind this problem. It is one of the causes, seemingly a pretty important part of the puzzle. Yet, you type strawman a couple of hundred times and Canada a few others and dismiss it.. based on your knowledge of statistics. Still pointless.
-
And instead of crushing us with an effective counter-argument, based on your untouchable statistics skills, you merely dismiss us as "not understanding" the oh so complex world of gun ownership and potato chips. Right. As I've noted multiple times during this "discussion" of yours, you never actually mention the flaws everyone around you makes. You just keep repeating "strawman", "you don't understand as much as I do" and other trolling material of the same pathetic worth. How about you, for once, stop telling everyone that they understand so much less than you, and actually explain what it is that's so wrong. You know, a concrete example. No, of course I don't understand as much as you do. Noone does. Why? Because it's your only way of "discussing" things. Your only defence is sitting on a high horse pretending to understand much more than anyone else without ever actually proving that is the case. As usual, you avoid the correlation between accessibility of guns and gun related deaths. How this time? I didn't provide a number. So your argument becomes "it's not THE MOST so it's not a problem". Yeah, I am sure Zimbabwe suffers more than the US. Does that mean the US does not have a problem? I mean, it's not the NUMBER ONE country in the world when it comes to gun related deaths per capita, therefore the problem does not exist? Pointless.

So I followed your advice and upgraded my paladin with 10 levels of Sacrifice and 5 levels of Zeal. I am basically using Zeal against everything now. I also found a ring of regeneration, which instantly made the game much easier to play. That, combined with Zeal and some weird yellow two-handed sword that steals 5% life force from enemies, I don't have to go through quite as many potions as I did before. I'm not sure what the Sacrifice levels was for though. It says in the description of Zeal that each level in Sacrifice adds 12% damage to Zeal, but it doesn't seem to work. Or do I have to make it work manually somehow? I mean, I am sure I'd notice a 120% increase in the damage I do.. especially since I can see the theoretical damage my Zeal does in the character screen.

Naah, he's still too young. You'll hear from us in 8-10 years or so.

Hmm, I've fired way too many different guns to be able to remember them or count them here.. But in the army I fired: AK-5 (standard Swedish 5,56mm army rifle) M-16 (standard American 5,56mm army rifle) AK-M "Kalashnikov" (standard Russian 7,62x39mm army rifle) PSG-90 (Swedish 7,62x51mm sniper rifle) KSP-58 (old Swedish version of a 7,62mm American medium machinegun) My fathers guns that are noteworthy enough to mention: A Glock 17 handgun (9mm). Much lighter than I ever imagined it would be. My "own" (my fathers, but I considered it mine) semi-automatic .22 rifle. I had so much fun with that gun (it was illegal at the time). A rifle using calibre .50! Just to illustrate what that means, I'm linking this picture: .50 is the same as 12,7mm.. My father got a license for it to hunt moose! The ammunition is ridiculously huge (and expensive).

If you HAVE to have a mini-game in your game, please rip off the Paradroid mini-game! That's the only mini-game I've actually enjoyed playing of all the mini-games that have passed my way. The mini-game in Bioshock is probably the worst one yet since it wasn't always possible to win (I'd consider that a bug), it took too much time and required no actual skill. The mini-game in Oblivion was bearable since it was over within 5 seconds or something. In Paradroid you had a small robot you controlled onboard a gigantic spaceship. The robots deteriorated pretty fast and to win the game, you had to transfer your robots AI onto other robots before your own robot died (either from being shot or just from deterioration). The way you did this was you rolled up to another robot and engaged it in a battle of AI minds! The screen changed from the ship with robots in it, to an overview of a computer chip, complete with rows of "legs" on both sides. The goal of the mini-game that presented itself at this stage was to control the most amounts of legs (segments) on the chip, by using the connections your robot had at his disposal. The robots all had numbers on them, and a low numbered robot didn't bring as many connections to the battle as a high numbered one. Therefore it was really difficult to win such a battle with a 1-robot against a 249-robot.. (In the picture above, the yellow 249-robot has 4 available connections and he's wasted one. The purple 1-robot, the player, had two connections available and he's wasted both. The yellow side has 8 segments of the chip under control while the purple side only has 4, so the 249-robot is winning that game.)
