  1. Ok, uh.. I didn't quite understand that trailer. But the game seems to have something to do with an inquisitor and a temple.. and it's on an island. Just like the original Gothic.
  2. It is very easy. Everything is colour coded and even the processor comes with its own little instruction manual on how to assemble it correctly. The only thing that's vital knowledge is that you can not, under any circumstance, discharge static electricity during the assembly. So throw out all the cats you own, don't wear woollen socks and touch something large and metal before you start. I usually touch the radiator in my room before juggling the parts. After that it's just a matter of careful thought and a firm hand. The order of the assembly varies from people to people, but I usually start by fastening the motherboard to the computer case (unless I am using a third party CPU fan, in which case I install that first). Then I plop in the CPU and the memory sticks, since they usually need the most uncluttered hand space to install. After that you just install the GPU and hard drives and any additional hardware you want (DVD burner?). Last you connect all the cables. Done. It's a rush turning on your newly built machine and seeing it boot up for the first time. Every time.
  3. I think Obsidian should hire the best of the best for their CQC advice: http://www.fedordvd.com/?gclid=CODA0Y6cm5UCFQuJ1Qode0LkgQ I'm not even kidding. This guy dispatched the former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia in 36 seconds, despite being 7 inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter. Check out the four minute teaser under the link above.
  4. I won't exactly pre-order it but, uh.. Apparently Dungeon Lords 2 is under development! Dungeon Lords sold over 1 million copies worldwide! That's more than Jade Empire (according to rumours). Anyhow, it's not really called Dungeon Lords 2 but The Orb & The Oracle: Dungeon Lords (or something like that). http://www.theorbandtheoracle.com/main.php?lang=en/ Cool. As long as they actually complete the game this time I'm interested. What was there in Dungeon Lords was good. It just wasn't ready for release.
  5. Add another game to my list of games I'm looking forward to: FUEL. http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=13261 I have no idea how it will work, but it sounds promising. I love racing and I love free-form worlds.
  6. Unfortunately the 9300 GE sucks. It's one step up from Intel's integrated graphics but ten steps behind even the 9600. I'd recommend the 9800 GTX or the Radeon 4870 if you want serious gaming performance.
  7. I thought that trailer rocked!
  8. http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=13265 Exactly like every FPS released in the last 10 years. Yup.
  9. Less than a day to go: http://risen.deepsilver.com/ I think they'll be showing a pre-rendered introduction movie for the game. The developers have said there won't be any in-game graphics shown. They don't want to repeat the mistake they did with Gothic 3, when they showed early screenshots of features that were later cut from the game.
  10. A short co-op preview of one of the games I'm looking forward to, Mercenaries 2: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/mer...tml?sid=6196012 I just know I'm going to enjoy this game, no matter the potential crappiness.
  11. GREAT new trailer for Far Cry 2: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/38386.html Love the music too.
  12. Heh, I'm still under mod status from that little joke. Mainly because I enjoy seeing Walsh and Gorth hunt around the boards for my posts. Although.. A fair amount of my posts never seem to show up at all.. HMM.
  13. Oh yeah, I never finished Planescape: Torment either. Pretentious, linear and boring are words that come to mind. I made it to the Kurst jail (or something) before I gave up. All the pseudo-philosophical babbling aside, it's still a game and they forgot to make it fun.
  14. You don't need to finish a game before forming an opinion. Personally I used to play long enough for it to be unlikely that the game would surprise me anymore. A good game is easy to review because that usually shines through very fast (noone in the closed beta needed especially many hours to realize that World of Warcraft would be a gigantic success). A bad game is trickier because there are often redeeming factors if you play long enough. Crappy games are usually crappy all the way through though.
  15. Centrino 2 is not a processor. It's a chipset, which means a Core 2 Duo processor + Intel Centrino 2 motherboard + Intel Wireless features. You may be confusing the name with Celeron, which is Intels old budget processors.
  16. Gothic 3. ...from which I got bored after 5 hours. Next. So what you're saying is that a game is only as long as you think it's fun to play..? Real clever. Your ADD doesn't exactly have any relevance in this matter. Gothic 3 is still hundreds of hours long.
  17. Hmm.. Since I worked as a games reviewer, I have a ton of games I've never completed. I actually have a few I've never even tried at all (Mostly EQ2 expansions and stuff because they forgot to include an account..). But I'll list the ones that people here are most familiar with: Baldur's Gate: Clunky, slow and the story didn't grip me at all. Baldur's Gate 2: Everyone talks so much about this game, but I couldn't even get out of the starting dungeon before it bored me to tears. Neverwinter Nights 2: Clunky camera, jerky engine and the combat didn't need me to be in the same room. Where's the fun in that? The Witcher: I loved the sexual encounters (shut up), but the story totally lost me in the first town after the village. Diablo 2: It was fun for a while, but oh so repetitive. I never felt like I needed to finish it and just gave up.
  18. It might be worth waiting for it for desktop computers. But I have absolutely no idea if/when it's coming to laptops. Besides, they just released the Centrino 2 platform for laptops.. that would be enough for me.

    China did it

Great, woke up this morning to watch a little swimming and it turns out a thunderstorm knocked out the TV-station where I live. They will have it fixed this afternoon.. when the Olympics are over for the day. GEE THANKS.
  20. My 4870 idles at 77 degrees! And my X1950XTX used to idle around 73 degrees so yeah, they get a bit hot. But the fan is really silent. In fact, I can never hear it unless I'm playing a really heavy game, when it spins up slightly so I can hear a very weak whirring noise. It doesn't affect the system temperature either as the GPU is an enclosed system and pumps out massive amounts of hot air through its own fan hole on the backside of the case. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's actually helping lower the temperatures inside the case because of its throughput of air.
  21. Gothic 3.
  22. I went to a party at some dude's apartment in the centre of Uppsala where I live. It costs him $2000 per month but DAMN that was a nice apartment. Also, I managed to hit on one of my best friends girlfriends, or maybe she hit on me, who knows. We've known each other for years and there's always been some kind of tension between us. Horribly awkward, we'll see what tomorrow brings. I hate when **** like this happens.
  23. Danes always think they can drink.. until they run into a Finn. We puny Swedes just stand at the sides watching the epic drinking battles and going home with the girls who aren't impressed by the drinking antics. Usually that's all the girls.
  24. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/38046.html
  25. I don't quite understand why they're doing this. Is it because they have trouble competing with ATI when it comes to pricing? It feels like a sure way of destroying your brand trust among customers by doing stuff like this..
