Why of course? I'm running SP3 and it works fine. What's the reason with sticking to SP2?

Five minutes of doing nothing in combat. Sounds like fun.

A video from a presentation of Gothic 4 (or Arcania as it is now called): Not half bad! Made by Spellbound and not Piranha Bytes this time. Will be interesting to see how Gothic it will feel.

I went to a party last night and because I am running in a competition on Sunday, I didn't drink much (only like.. four welcome drinks and two beer). The funny thing is that.. I saw so much more when I was semi-sober! This really, really cute girl I'm currently courting (uh..) is actually interested in me, I am sure of that now. My other female friends get really clingy (in a good way!) and my ex is clearly disturbed when I am having success (also a good thing!). It was a very interesting experience. And it's also an eye-opener about how much I usually drink when I go to a party. Apparently I don't need it to have fun. Who'd have thunk it.

Psst...check out alphaprotocol.com

Doesn't sound crazy at all. But how about this then: said CIA agent is sent to an Eastern European country to assist in a covert Russian operation to provide stability in a local oil crisis? Too crazy for you? Does every plot out of American hands have to include the meaningless blanket statement "terrorist"? Of course, it's not mentioned in the press release so feel free to positively surprise me here.. Does every bad guy really have to kill "hundreds of innocents" so every redneck in the world will understand who's the bad guy and who you're supposed to feel (righteous!) hatred for? But again, this is a press release, there's still a huge possibility that the plot isn't as nauseatingly simple as that. I realize how negative this sounds and I apologize about that. But a big part of the reason why I stopped writing about games is because of the mind numbingly simplistic plots of most games nowadays. Trying daily to write about trife like Gears of War et al wears you down. Ps. Love the new forum header! -
FO3 pirated in less than 24 hours after gold
mkreku replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
PLEASE let them catch the guy. I'm buying this game now just to show my support because this has gone beyond stupid. I don't care if the game turns out to be **** anymore. -
Yes. I will. That's kind of my point.. So, which one is it? Is it Oblivion 1.0 with a simple re-skin or are they "completely different", as you say? I've played Oblivion for 100+ hours. I've seen the official Fallout 3 gameplay videos. I do not think they look the same. At all. But feel free to bring me your proof of how similar they are. Please. Or how about I provide some? Fallout 3: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/39287.html Oblivion: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/9508.html Yeah. Still almost impossible to tell them apart. Unless you are a genius of course. Still full of it too.

I'm pretty sure that both worked on both games and had roles that were of equal importance in both games. No. Smith did work for Spector during Deus Ex, but it was Spector's vision all the way. As I recall from various interviews in the past, Spector has sworn up down and sideways he had no input at all on the design of IW. He has also hinted that he disagreed with some of the choices Smith made, but since it was SMith's game, those choice were Smith's to make. I've read the same interviews so I can vouch for this. Spector was in charge of the first game while Smith was in charge of the second. Oh yeah, you'd need to be a frigging genius to spot the difference. You guys are so full of it. I know you hate it without having played it already, but there's just no limit to the stupidity you guys stoop to when you try to talk down on the game.

"Hundreds of innocent passengers and crew are killed after a commercial airliner is shot down over Eastern Europe." I don't like this. I don't like it at all. It sounds exactly like that "USA!! THE LIGHTHOUSE OF DEMOCRACY IN THE WORLD!!" propaganda the US government has been spewing out the last couple of years. I really wish you could have come up with a story that did NOT refer to everyone outside the US being potential "terrorists" who kill innocents so the mighty world police gets another opportunity to send out their own Arian super humans to set things straight according to the moral values of religious right wing nuts. We had this very same discussion a while back where someone was "But it will be like Syriana, it's very anti US!!". Yeah, right. Even if the main bad guy is some American corporate leader, it's still a hypocritical and narrow minded view of the world that's being portrayed. I do not want to go there again so I'll leave it at that. Yeah, the rednecks in the US will probably love the story, but outside of those borders it rings a very tired and hated bell. -
But the Leafs won! Away against Detroit! I hope this is a sign of the times to come :D

FO3 pirated in less than 24 hours after gold
mkreku replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
What?! It's October 9! It's supposed to be out on October 31 here in Sweden! I'm not the biggest fan of Bethesda but this **** has got to stop! Noone deserves this. If there are pirated games out in the wild THREE WEEKS before it hits retail then something definitely has gone too far! That's just sick. It's repulsive. -
I was playing Area 51 until I realized how horribly unoptimized it is. Now I'm waiting for Mercenaries 2 to drop in price and/or some of the games on my most wanted list to be released.
-
Ok, so I tried Area 51 seeing as it is free and all.. Now find what's wrong with these two pictures: (Assassin's Creed is just an example of an ordinary system demanding game) I'm going to uninstall Area 51 now

I was mostly thinking about the new three-channel DDR3 design (as opposed to the two-channel DDR2 we have now) and the way games have become focused on shuffling enormous amounts of data around (sandbox open-ended worlds) and how that needs more bandwidth than we have today. The CPU's of today can certainly shuffle as much as the bandwidth allows. It's all guesses, of course. But a pretty interesting article on both the i7 and DDR3 can be found here: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=3426

I'm definitely getting it when it hits the bargain bins though (for sweet, sweet co-op violence). Which I am surprised it hasn't already. Still MORE than full price in Sweden!

Why is ME better/worse than other Bioware games
mkreku replied to Nick_i_am's topic in Computer and Console
So uh.. I found a deal on Mass Effect ( http://www.spelbutiken.se/catalog/product/...-effect--for-pc if any other Swedes are interested).. But is it worth buying? On one hand, the combat doesn't sound like a passive snorefest anymore.. On the other hand, it sounds like typical vanilla Bioware story/writing: It doesn't interest or excite me in the slightest. I'm pretty starved for a RPG though. Oh, screw it, I accidentally ordered it while writing this post -
There ARE laptops capable of running Crysis on high settings: http://banners.zepto.com/Trailers/hydra/index.html $3850.. But it features an MXM slot, which means you can upgrade the GPU on it! Never saw that on a laptop before.

Shut up! Lisa Miskovsky rules! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cu_eiJvbvV4 You guys wouldn't know good taste if it hit you in the face with a two-by-four.

New, VERY VIOLENT video from far Cry 2: http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=15365 Voice acting sucks, but I'm really stoked about this game. PLEASE LET IT BE GOOD!

Hmm, I think waiting for the new tech might be a bit unnecessary, but that's just my opinion. Right now, only the 4870 in Crossfire and the 280 in SLI are CPU limited. That means that the CPU's right now is a step ahead of the GPU's, that there's still a lot of headroom in this generation of CPU's. Whenever a new generation is introduced, it's introduced at rip-off prices and the last gen becomes cheap as chips. Something to consider. I assumed the budget and immediacy was of higher concern than having the latest tech. Besides, I personally think the leap from DDR2 to DDR3 is what's going to push performance in gaming forward more than a new family of CPU's. Just my guess though. Core 2 surprised me a lot, maybe the i7 can do the same? Intel claims it'll increase gaming by 50%.. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Intel-Claim...-i7-95015.shtml I've never seen a CPU having such an impact on games though. Games are usually extremely dependant on the GPU.

Btw, I found this comment in my profile: Mat Sundin season 2007-2008: Games: 74, Goals: 32, Assists: 46, Points: 78 He missed 8 games and ended up closer to 80.. but still.. pretty good guess! Mats is like a machine, like clockwork.
