Better (and longer) video from Gametrailers: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/45228.html

Gee, thanks, Capitals, for stealing Staffan Kronwall away from us. Yeah, our season is going so well, we don't need to try out some new blood. Stupid waivers..

As long as I get to carry a Dragunov at some point in the game, you won't hear me complaining about the weapons.

The PS3 Thread of Butterflies and Lollipops!
mkreku replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
I actually played that tonite. It was very pretty and smooth, but I thought it was damn difficult. I died trying to blow up a bridge, I died trying to defend a guy who was supposed to open a door, I died everywhere. But for my cousin who actually owns the PS3 and loved Halo, I think it's a perfect match. -
Yeah, we lost 5-0. Shut up. Anyhow: "Ovechkin's league-high 37th goal this season and made him one of four NHL players to reach 200 career goals in four seasons, joining Wayne Gretzky, Mike Bossy and Mario Lemieux." That's actually pretty impressive. You need to average more than 50 goals per season to accomplish that, and Ovechkin has 'only' scored 37 so far this season. Let's hope he keeps playing for a long time. So far he seems more durable than Pavel Bure did.. and they're scoring at the same rate.

Unreal Engine 3 and Alpha Protocol
mkreku replied to funcroc's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
One thing I don't really like about Unreal Engine 3 is the seemingly small maps all the games made with it ships with. I don't know if it's because it's unusually memory hungry.. or if it is because both consoles are limited to 512 MB and 256+256 MB respectively.. but it's all the same: small maps. Let's hope Alpha Protocol features bigger maps. -

Shooting someone in the head is not included in my definition of nice. -
Who cares if we're last in the entire NHL? We still get goodies like these from time to time: Go Hagman!

So, uh. EA/Starbreeze working on a new Bourne game
mkreku replied to Jason Bourne's topic in Computer and Console
Starbreeze's offices are located in my town. Everything they do turns into pure gold. PURE GOLD, I tell ya! -
I'll happily buy that one from you, if you ever feel the need to make some space in your man cave.

Right! This reminds me! I really should install and play Mass Effect soon.. It's lying here on a shelf somewhere..

If they drilled a hole in the PS3 where I could fit in as much RAM as I wanted, I'd buy one. I mean, the thing already supports both keyboards and secondary OS's to be installed. But who in their right mind would try to do anything like that on 256 MB of RAM?! Oh, and my cousin has a PS3. Everything you do on it takes time. Watch a Blu-ray? Wait 30 seconds for the console to do.. something. Then it starts. Want to try Home? Download 300 MB of.. something, then wait for 20 minutes while the console does.. something. Try a demo? Wait 20 minutes while the consoled downloads stuff (and you CAN NOT watch a Blu-ray meanwhile, we tried!) and then wait 20 minutes while the console installs the demo. Everything, and I mean everything felt laggy and slow and not especially "next gen". I haven't done much other than play games on the Xbox 360, but it sure feels quicker and more responsive. And louder.

I thought this was a pretty interesting list: http://www.tsn.ca/columnists/scott_cullen/...s=headlines_nhl Look at numbers 50 and 51. I'd be f-ing hysterical as a coach if I saw any of those guys blocking shots! I'm guessing it's because they hit so much that they're that high up.

Me and a couple of friends are going out tonight to drink a couple of beers in memory of Ingo http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/ne...tory?id=3874056

Haha! Remember who went all doom and gloom at Fallout 3? Remember how that turned out? She was only the second worst idiot: They should sticky that old Fallout 3 thread. Pure comedy.

Are you sure it isn't ATI's fault? Come on, you can come up with one of your usual 'logical' reasons!

How about losing 6 - 1 to the lowest scoring team in the NHL?

The weird thing is.. I kind of like Windows Live Games (or whatever it's called)! I've gotten used to it from Gears of War PC (where it sucked) to GTA4 (where I didn't bother with it) and Fallout 3 (where it actually works as intended). And I am ashamed to say that I enjoy hearing that sound it plays whenever I've completed an achievement.. Hope I'm not turning into an achievement whore. I also want the DLC that lets you play past level 20. I've maxxed out my character and I've just been to see Three Dog. That means I have all the game left (almost) and no character advancement to look forward to. Except bobbleheads. But I only have ONE SPECIAL bobblehead left to collect.. Because I forgot where I found the Charisma one. I refuse to look for them in walkthroughs but I am pretty sure I've found it in an earlier playthrough and I usually take a screenshot whenever I find one so it should be there somewhere.

The "real" Risen site is up now: http://risen.deepsilver.com/blog/pages/en/news/news.php Not much to see yet. Also, on January 28, there will be a world exclusive preview of Risen in some German magazine called Gamestar: Horrible, horrible German page layout!! But it's nine pages about my most anticipated game for 2009 so I'll just turn off my brain and try to read it anyhow. Somehow.

No. But since one of my friends recently bought Fallout 3 for his Xbox 360, I restarted my earlier game and found this: Dark picture, but it is a named tire iron! I also found this: A named nail board! There's so much stuff I missed the first time around. I've found a few more bobbleheads too.

I finally gave the Drakensang demo a try. I kind of liked it. It's really complex and the battles are not very exciting (turn-based or something) but it has a nice atmosphere going for it.

Flying knee you say? This is what Fedor thinks about your flying knee! The result? This: Arlovski is actually unconscious in mid-air! Thorton is going dooown! -
Personally I prefer the ring to the cage. The cage wasn't introduced because it stops people from tangling themselves in the ropes, it was introduced because it makes the sport more of a freak show. The cage looks more 'scary'. Also, the cage favours "dirty boxing", ie. the kind of fighting I am most adverse to (except soccer kicks and stomps on the ground). This was Afflictions second promotion. Ever. Considering, I think they did a good job. I agree on the commentators though. They need to dump that Bruce dude who introduces the fighters and bring back the screaming banshee lady from Pride. Also get rid of Tito. What is he even doing there?! And yeah, I like Bas, he's welcome back. I think Dana White is destroying what would otherwise be a good promotion. UFC has no heavyweight to speak of right now. Nogueira was already beaten by Fedor. Twice. Mir is good but he needs a few more fights to prove his consistency. Couture is getting a bit old, just like Nogueira in fact. Brock might be something but now that he's under the legal wing of a promotion, watch him drop muscle weight rather fast.. and he also needs to prove that he belongs where he is. Other than that: nothing. I want to see Kharitonov, A. Emelianenko, Barnett, Overeem, Hunt, Arlovski, Sylvia, Fedor, Crocop etc. battle it out amongst themselves. These are the elite of the heavyweights. If Affliction can sign Kharitonov, Crocop and Overeem they'd be stacked. Right now those three are floating in no-man's land.
