  1. So Fallout 4 just won a Bafta award...it's now officially better than The Witcher 3
  2. Twitcher 3 does have some very angular jiggly bits, I wonder if they were originally going to have tessellation and had to drop it.
  3. Just played a few hours of Day of The Tentacle Remastered. They did a great job dragging this one into THE FUTURE!!! Lovely backdrops, nice clean audio, good music and the humour is still fresh. I always thought this game was the pinnacle of that particular style of point n click, the last of it's kind.
  4. With a comically oversized box full of empty space?
  5. First time round the haunted hotel was great, every following time a bit meh.
  6. I watched a couple of guys doing the same stage last night, the frustration was delicious
  7. Pillars of Eternity is a strange one. I almost don't remember playing it and yet I've got fond memories of it, like taking Aloth to get his personalities examined and Durance's general spite and lechery.
  8. I wish I could have taken this approach but I was too hyped
  9. My Bethesda fanboyism has been wrecked by Fallout 4's utter lack of RPG mechanics but I thought the dungeon design was pretty good
  10. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...I'll probably buy this just for the voice actors. This looks hilarious, though I preferred the 'over the shoulder' throw animation for dumping corpses, coulda just tweaked it more
  11. To be honest I feel I've already been beta testing for them sooo I'll pass
  12. Just finishing up Neuromancer, though occasionally incomprehensible I see what the fuss is about, it's way ahead of it's time and clearly the inspiration for hundreds of later works. I've also read the first two books in the Broken Empire series, it's a bit like if GRRM had given Ramsay Bolton his own series, well worth a look if you enjoy grim fantasy with a sense of humour.
  13. I remember saying it was brave of Bethesda to let Obsidian do it, I totally expected them to school the Toddster. At first I was slightly let down, I think Fallout 3 destroys it from a world design perspective (also heavy locational advantage, Washington!) but in every other area New Vegas completely excels. I'm currently playing Skyrim again, just to see if rose tinted spectacles were warping my view of Fallout 4...nope, one Skyrim hold has more charm and thoughfulness than anything Boston has to offer.
  14. Yeah, it was halfhearted and lame.
  15. Bethesda are apparently working on a proper survival mode.
  16. Only one evening? Ok, I bunkered down and did it, turns out it took two evenings
  17. Plenty of people were reporting problems during the recent beta but for some reason they were ignored.
  18. Installed Skyrim and realised I'd have to spend an evening installing my mods, uninstalled
  19. Seems there's a noticeable backlash happening, lots of videos attacking and defending Fallout 4. I knew the shine wouldn't last long, most of the hype came from those magical first hours where the game shows all this staggering promise, so many 'final thoughts' videos were from people who hadn't even completed the damn thing.
  20. Exactly, the crusade to censor this guy is giving him more reach than he could ever have achieved alone.
  21. This guy is a piece of **** but I support his right to free movement and the right to express his ideas.
  22. I like the idea but they're asking a lot if they expect you to discern the feelings of those bulging eyed mannequins
  23. I'm sorry, I'd love to sympathize with you, but after today's ****ty day, the sentence going along the lines of "I sold my only engine and now I'm stuck, damn you game!" made me laugh :-P Anyway, just restart. It's not a big deal in sunless sea, world will regenerate, a ton of events change, it's all good. Feel free to disable Iron Man mode and save a lot in order to prevent such things from happening in the future. You know, in case you sell your boat and feel like you have nothing to sail with and stuff :-P I get what you're saying, it's a tough old world after all. I still think it's slightly bad design though, the shop appeared to have better engines in stock and I had the money, I assumed that the buy option might become available after I sold my current engine but it didn't and I was left stranded in the dock. I even traded in my boat at a huge loss but the replacement also had no engine
  24. It's definitely got something, I found myself thinking about it in bed which is a sure sign of an interesting game. My only criticism so far is that the game let me sell my engine and for some reason I couldn't buy another so I was totally screwed.
