  1. Add a post-graduate degree to that, and you've just described my ideal woman (ie. the ex). :D E'dit: http://www.visitcopenhagen.com/Eat-and-drink/Sin-City/382
  2. Some people have synonymised the dialogue wheel with the decline of Bioware they have percieved. They should be glad for it, the shortened responses (in the vein of "I want to be a dragon") it displays have provided them with endless ammunition for their trolling. Personally, I don't mind it, they've gotten a lot better with from its first implementation in Mass Effect 1. But then again, my French teacher described me as a classic intellectual subtype who's able to enjoy "stupid" pursuits because he had enough intellicredentials without positing an endless interest in everything "deep". Not sure how accurate he is, but he's always struck me as a pretty astute guy. The main reason people didn't enjoy DA2 is approaching it with a negative mindset. Everybody I've seen approach it with an open mind found it fairly enjoyable in spite of its faults.
  3. First that Crhis Avellsomething person hasn't played Arcanum. Now you haven't played Planescape Torment. I am waiting for the person on this forum who will say "I am playing Hide & Seek for the first time. I am excited to try the playground classic for the first time" I haven't played torment, either. It hasn't agreed with the computers I own, even though I've had it since ~2004. Will probably give it another stab during my upcoming holiday, and probable subsequent unemployment.
  4. If I had to guess, I'd say that there are several reasons for mood changes, and it affects one of them. And messing with something that can cause mood changes, but isn't doing it, might cause mood changes.
  5. I was under the impression that he's Danish, not Swedish. Not that it makes a great difference, geographically or in the visual appeal of the local female populace.
  6. Nep, do you want me to talk to her. I'll explain to her that you are a nice and decent guy? It's pretty obvious to most people here, hell our personnel director's already promised to vouch for me, if necessary. I think it's safe to say that they made a wrong recruitment in me... I'm specialised in part of what I'm supposed to do here, but a big part of the rest is entirely new to me. During the summer she decided that I should "help" other people by doing random memos for their projects etc. Which in turn meant that I had to spend even more time learning new stuff for minimal gain. Couple that with the massive stress I had over the dissertation and all, I wasn't at my best, either. But they're trying to lay everything down as some type of personal failing on my part, and I'm not gonna stand for it.
  7. RPG's now and then type blatant strawmanning just convince me more that there's nothing wrong with the game.
  8. I've had pretty bad cases of winter depression in the past, but funnily, I'm probably having my best year in that regard. Practically everything is going down the crapper, yet I can be almost totally Zen about it. Had the first talk with my boss in almost a month now. She still thinks I'm the scum of the earth, yet seems totally surprised I no longer want to keep working here.
  9. Spent most of my waking hours at work during the weekend. Personally not happy with the results, and (a first to me) I know that the expectations leveled at me by others exceed my own. SO happy to be moving on from here. Guess I'll know tomorrow whether it'll be end of January or February...
  10. If you've waited this long, why not wait until the "ultimate" edition or whatever it's called is released, which will likely include all the DLC? That's what I usually do if I end up not buying the game within the first couple of months of its release. I don't think there's one for ME2, yet. Best reason not to wait (there probably won't be one). Not sure what the trilogy version had on PC, though.
  11. Ditto Or you could try a different approach; have you considered donning a monocle, top hat and fake mustache and walking up to them in disguise? Are you suggesting that isn't my normal appearance, barring the fakeness of the mustache? I AM a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.), after all!
  12. I totally leveraged that this morning. I think I've about exhausted the pool of eligible women I know, so I now have to start looking. What a bore.
  13. Only partially on topic, but turns out that if you are an attractive woman, "the one that got away" can literally be the ONE guy you wanted but didn't get with a strategic wave of the finger. I found that pretty ****ing depressing.
  14. There's also the relatively "open" design and steep power curve in low level ad&d. Not only are you vulnerable, but a single level makes a massive impact on your efficiency... and with the different challenge levels seeded all over the maps, it gets a bit, well, boring.
  15. I'd do the troubles in the hills first, from what I remember of the Sphere. I'd forgotten how much I like this game. (I won't keep thanking you in every post, but these updates really make my day)
  16. Now who brought logic and economics into an ideological fight? tsk tsk
  17. I've been having trouble sleeping for the past week, and I've woken up face down on the "female guest" side of the bed on several mornings, which is basically unheard of. Also learning the difference between "friends" which translates to "you're in my top5, but below my current guy who I will studiously avoid mentioning in any discussions we have" and "just friends" which means that they want to whine to you about the other guy. I'm in the first group with the two most amazing women I know, so I can actually consider myself blessed. Could be a lot worse.* Now, next girl. *(could be a lot better, too, and if there's any slip towards "just friends", I'll have to exit fast).
  18. Yes. Yes I did. It was cathartic. There's a reason why I will not be talking about it ever again. You just did. :3
  19. Wish I could contribute in some meaningful way, Hurlie, but I'm backed into a fairly tight corner, and the things that I was looking forward as Good Stuff happening in 2013 seem to be disappearing at an alarming rate. Not trying belittle your problems or push mine here, just genuinely sorry I can't think of anything (else) right now.
  20. Thanks again, Tig. Fun read. You got some pics messed up around finding Haer'dalis and the extraplanar bounty hunters, though. I like this comment; may I ask if I may use it in my sig? Please do.
  21. Not necessarily in a bad way. It could always go the Fight Club way. "It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything." I'm considering career alternatives that I would have laughed at a few weeks ago with an open mind, now. And it's only slowly starting to dawn to me how ****ed up this place is. Genuinely happy to move on, worried about the future and uncertainty, that's all.
  22. Hi Nep What do you mean she thought you were too white? I don't mean to pry its just interesting I didn't ask her to elaborate, but she appears to have a fetishistic interest in men of a darker complexion. (and yes, for the record, that's exactly what she told me and not my interpretation)
  23. Gonna drop by at a friend's NYE party, and then head the couple of blocks to my mom's place for the actual changeover. Since the last girl I took out a couple of times decided I was too white for her, don't have a date for the evening. :D
