  1. Agree. Ashley's a bit less vanilla than Kaidan, but at least with my import had minimal dialogue. *sigh*
  2. I don't know but I also think there is air of superciliousness and entitlement coming from your opinion. It sounds like you are expecting PC products to automatically be better than Console products or you won't support them. You remind me of the French nobility before the revolution. I am not trying to insult you, I am just being honest. Because PC is the automatically better platform, not because I expect the PC to be treated differently. It's the developers that have shown disdain for the PC as a platform if their game is not better than the console version, because they have not shown the platform the respect they did for the others. Console gamers would not put up with this. Haha, you just defined 95 % of multiplatform releases on PS3. They seem to have put up with it just fine. :D
  3. Sent this: http://FunnyOrDie.com/m/3j7x to the Good People from work.
  4. Are there any other kinds of Chuck episodes? (Have the full series on blu-ray). :D
  5. Last day at old workplace. Lots of people claimed to be sad to see me go. Believed most of them. Now more tired than I've probably ever been, including while in the army.
  6. Thanks for the play-by-play. The fireball firing staff is still there, I take it? :D It's perfect watching for a sad **** like myself, I need to go check it out again on my next London excursion.
  7. I'd have no issues paying to "romance" Miranda. [/multilayered innuendo]
  8. Well, that sucks. I have this vague recollection the chandelier had already been toned down a bit the last time I saw it three years ago. Still at Her Majesty's Theatre, though?
  9. Eh, the Haestrom Sun/Dark Energy angle was related to the original Reaper Motivation, before it was scrapped.
  10. Forgettable. I mean, I literally forgot about it. Leviathan wasn't too bad, though.
  11. Yeah, me too. Then I realised that women who are at least reasonably secure don't mind being patronised a bit. Could be a status thing of some sort, they found partonising behaviour offensive when I was a law student, but now that I'm an LL.D. with cigar pockets in his suit jackets it's practically expected. :D Oh, and no flowers on a first date in Scandinavia. Flowers are for your mother, or elderly female bosses/secretaries. In fact, go buy your mom some.
  12. Yeah and no. In my experience beautiful women get hit on so much that with them, the ridiculous advice of "just be yourself" is actually sound. Most beautiful women could have whoever they want, so the best thing to do really is be relaxed and yourself and accept the fact that she will either choose you or somebody else; there is very little you can do. I know a lot more people who'll just approach amazing-looking women since the cost/benefit ratio is so good. Could be cultural differences, could be me knowing too many arrogant **** and economists. Raithe: one-upping your friends that way is a quick route into finding that you are no longer invited. I know I get left out a lot, and have to tone it down myself. Of course, cultural differences, again. Most women my age around here will get into a feminist tizzy over "old-fashioned manners", so helping a girl put her coat on is one of my key tests in whether I should spend more time with them.
  13. "Well, it'll be an interesting change from the original and amended endings, which were more like ALL HANDS ON ****!" *sigh*
  14. ... not gonna lie, the "mouth" of that mask looks like it belongs between a womans legs. I think everyone's noticed that So question everyone: what's the verdict on Baldur's Gate EE? Worth $20 or pass entirely? Depends on the platform, I think most PC players, who apparently universally love tinkering with their games will get less mileage out of the new version than ipad users (who haven't had it before) or mac users (for whom it hasn't worked in 10-12 years and never had really functional multiplayer, anyway). The original releases were a bit rough, but they've displayed all the good qualities of a small and agile developer/publisher, fixes have been coming fast, requested features added and they're currently rewriting the renderer and file access systems (which will mostly help the swapless ios/android platforms, but still). I still think they are a good dev to "support" in the long term, so am buying the game on 3 platforms (have it on 2 already). YMMV
  15. Personal experience, a _first_ date that involves anything else than talking and drinking at a close proximity tends to fail. You don't succeed in building the necessary rapport, and beautiful women have a lot of options so are quick to move on . Not sure how you've met each other, but I'd go to a swank lounge type bar, maybe grab sushi before hand, something along those lines.
  16. Not really, as shep seems to have become a full commander off-screen.
  17. As my future boss told me, "we employ a secretary so that the calculations are correct."
  18. I just had this vague recollection that 10mm of rain equals a meter of snow or something like that. Has to be wrong, though, but... :D
  19. I've only ever played BG2 as a tank... I think it's time for some thief and mage action in the near future...
  20. I guess that's possible, but only if they switched up all the naming conventions. Shep is a Commander, which is a grade-5 officer ("O5") in a naval service (Navy, Coast Guard). The weird part is that Alenko is a Major, which is an O4 in a land-based service. I suspect that they just picked the titles that sounded coolest. Also, naval O4 is "Lieutenant Commander," so Bio probably thought it'd be confusing to have 2 folks called "Commander" around the ship. I was under the impression that at least for me1-me2 shep was an lt. commander and just addressed as "commander" as some militaries do for lt.coms. and lt. colonels. What I said above is as far as my caring went, so I bow down to your superior thought given to the matter for the rest.
  21. Cerberus and their "manpower" actually get a fairly cool explanation down the road. It's just a pity that it doesn't get teased at all, in fact the opposite: everybody seems to think that Cerberus having that type of ability is perfectly normal. US military is actually fairly unique in the sense that "marines" aren't simply a part of the navy. Shep is definitely a marine, just in a a military of that type.
  22. Infinitely more than the Planescape: Torment game. The setting itself may be new, but it was validated by Fargo as being acceptable for a Torment game. This means that the decision to go with it meant that the idea had to be related back to the original game, so that it passed the game's standard. It won't just be "new characters" it will be "new characters that we feel are sufficiently Torment." It's not just a new story, but a "new story that we feel is sufficiently Torment." These restrictions don't exist with brand new game ideas, but in the big publishing world that also makes them more risky. For reference, see the amount of people who said that they would have been perfectly ok with Dragon Age 2, had it been called something else. And if anyone says that DAO has anything of the emblematic value that Torment does, they're crazier than I am.
