  1. Malc I am following this story its amazing that he hasn't resigned. I saw him also getting very aggressive with journalists that were camped on his property. Why do your Canadian politicians feel that smoking crack cocaine and getting filmed doesn't mean you should resign? You obviously don't have enough serious social problems 'twould be impolite to resign and leave all those people hanging. Had court of appeal yesterday. Full review, so everybody was heard again. Happily, they forgot to lie this time around, so it looks a bit sunnier for my client who's been in jail for almost a year now... The bad thing is that the court of appeal's in another city, one even more remote from civilization, even if a bit bigger. Had a good hotel there, but my back's killing me from the sittign and all the gear hauling I've had to do.
  2. Yeah, Saints' season long running game issues also blew up in their face when Sproles got knocked out of the game. Chris Ivory rubbing salt to the wounds didn't help.
  3. Jets are causing me almost as much pain as they are Brees.
  4. "Top quality bitch, correct size and balance, beautiful feminine head. Excellent head, neck and topline. Correct moderate angulation. Excellent movement and coat, well presented." I apparently need to start dating a Weimaraner.
  5. LOL, if you've only ever been loved by Army brats, then no wonder you feel weird. Obviously, "army" is a bit different here in a conscript system, but does probably fairly universally represent at least a home with emphasised traditional gender roles and a high value placed on education. They've been extremely fit girly girls with a strong drive and ambition.
  6. It's funny, all of my more meaningful relationships have been with daughters of military officers. Semi-related:
  7. Had one of those days where the sheer absurdity of my cases has reached epic proportions, but for that precise reason I can't talk about it on the off chance that the individuals might be identified... Apart from that, third day after vacation and having trouble staying awake
  8. Maybe it'll take as long as for me to get the physical rewards for that game, ie. forever. I'm now 0/2 for physical items from kickstarter/indiegogo. Pretty safe to say I'll be buying into the basic or digital only tiers from now on...
  9. But Zora the reality is you Kiwi's do need to be monitored, I have always suspected NZ of being a hotbed of radical and fundamentalist ideas. I mean who knows when your legions of sheep will go a rampage and start killing Westerners !!!! I've seen the movie.
  10. No, I'm claiming I used to get a whole lot of use from a bunch of guys who had private health insurance and would still consider "unmanly" going to the doctor if they still have all their limbs remaining.
  11. Who listens to management, anyway. ... I think I've just had an epiphany about why I switch jobs every 12 months.
  12. Here in socialist eurolandia, my health insurance cost tripled this year after the ECJ outlawed gender-based profiling as a basis of insurance pricing. A big thanks to all the hypochondriacs of the female persuasion. Of course, the same package covers injuries accumulated in the pursuit of, say, skydiving, so I guess it's only fair I pay for it.
  13. I've been unaware that all federal employees are fired and replaced with new ones every time a president changes. Agree with you on the servant/master part. I see it every day. The government is the servant of those with the audacity to abuse it, and the master of those who try to function within the society.
  14. So now we believe a newspaper article without any official comment from the person who is being accused of doing or not doing something? As of this morning the Whitehouse is saying that they were not aware of the depth the NSA bugging program and Obama didn't know about it. Yes it could be lies but lets at least wait for all the facts to come out before we pass judgement ..just a thought You haven't clued on to how everything that someone in the US administration does is directly condoned, nay, ordered by the president? Like when somebody has the idea to remove references to God in the US Air Force Academy, my FB feed get flooded by my more conservative American friends proclaiming the latest step in OBAMA'S WAR ON CHRISTIANITY...
  15. Ant that is exactly what I do not like about games. When I want to spent lot of time with exploring or walking through some city, I just buy me a flight ticket there and visit it myself. I never finished any Bethesda game, despite having lot of fun at the start with each one, but after week or two of playing, I got bored to dead... Always... Same with every other large sandbox game... With exception of Fallout 3... For some reason, I almost finished this game... But I think it was the DLCs, which I enjoyed much more than the game. I quit the game for a year, when I reached the carrier. And for another year when I finished Dunwich... And I finished every God of War game I touched, despite me sucking a lot with everything except RPGs, I even finished God of War III on platinum. I just need a game, where there is something to do every second of the game, not a game where you have to walk around for hours to get to your next objective. Mmh, the low tempo is a major turnoff for me as well, though I wouldn't characterise myself in the same way. OTOH, I found FONV, a Bethesda-style game done by Obsidian, quite a bit of fun, so guess there's something else as well...
  16. I'll cheerfully defer if our legally trained members disagree, but I was always taught that the law HAS to be interpretive in order to deliver justice. Because laws cannot possibly be drafted to account for every circumstance in which they might apply. If WoD does in fact attempt to apply the law without conscience or referring to circumstance then I can only pray nightly that I never have to work with him or for him. Eh, there are too many fundamentalists in this thread for me to bother writing a long reply, especially on the topic of "theory vs. practice".
  17. Clearly, you've never dated an economist. There are other advantages, too.
  18. It was just the joys (and side effects) of a misspent youth! "A misspent youth wasn't".
  19. I dunno, I think it's more along the lines of the "normal" reboots Zoraptor's talking about, even if it was a successful game in its own right. Basically they took the Fallout brand and applied it to a Bethesda type game.
  20. Looking at successful "reboots", we have.... Deus Ex? At least I can't think of anything else. I guess YMMV even on that, but I found it to be a good game that was faithful to the original.
  21. hmm, *rummaging through threads* yep! here it is: and now I think I have permanent scars heh, so my prediction was not entirely off. Battle scars, my friend, battle scars.
  22. Seriously, those pictures were each better than the one before, and way past the point where I thought it would be possible
  23. 18 years old and mixed up with coke! No, wait, that was whisky.
  24. Witcher 2 did do that part better.
  25. Thanks, I've been looking for this one.
