  1. Shields... and warp... and overload. Swiss army knife.
  2. I for one was bored to tears on my Soldier playthrough. Current favourites are Sentinel and Infiltrator - especially if you have Kasumi. Sentinel seems to suit my personal playstyle best (I liked vanguards in ME1), and infiltrator has a nice mish-mash of ammo and activated powers with a neat sniper scope time dilation (with no ability activatio required). Vanguard's charge is a suicide pill, so I wound playing it as a soldier-, just sticking to squad cryo + inferno Adept and Engineer still unplayed, just made played through ME1 on a new char and doing that as an adept later this week.
  3. As long as they keep getting recruits and funding from outside the area...
  4. I'm still uncertain I'm going to invest into a MMORPG that requires me to switch operating systems (to Windows) every time I want to play. I guess I'll see. Trailer wasn't bad!
  5. I'm not sure how beneficial it would be to your case if your lawyer would refer to himself in third person and always finish with a cheery " HA, GOOD FUN!" Yet he obviously ranks the Khan higher than me.
  6. She used mercenaries, some of which were Qunari, and some of which were mages. Is it worth getting even if your not a Leliana fanboy? I am a Leliana fanboy, but I'd say so, yeah. She doesn't burst into song or anything, IIRC. It recycles art from origins and awakening pretty heavily, but overall I thought it was a nice little standalone adventure.
  7. Soo, woke up this morning to three construction workers banging on my window. They proceeded to enter my studio and tell me that they were about to rip off my old window and replace it with a new one (planned renovation, but not supposed to start for a few weeks). To cut the long story short, place is now covered in (saw)dust. I'm spitting mad. They're paying for somebody to clean the place up (not sure if they are genuinely sorry, or just ****ting themselves as I whipped the lawyer card out pretty early) this afternoon, and I already got an apology from the supervisor (who's already scared of us - my mother is also one of their tenants, and she's even more hardcore than I am). I was somewhat worried about my home theatre amp, but the shop told me not to worry. The x360 took the burnt of their initial onslaught (they had apparently never imagined dustsheets might be of use on an op like this), but if that thing fries it's just a lucky break Argh.
  8. Well, the current info on the console versions is that you need to hit 'x' every time you want to swing a sword. I'm not going to play a game like that, I have in the past and have finally overcome the repeat stress injuries from that. So, yeah, happily my Mini will probably run DA2 (it works fairly well with DAO), but not the kind of action I'm looking for. Miss. Leliana's Song is so far the best DAO DLC I've played (with the caveat that I haven't played Golems yet), if DA2 had been basically the way that DLC is (splash screens and combat and all), I would have been a very happy camper. For me, it's going to be the ME2 Lair first, then the remaining DAO DLC after I've completed an Awakening playthrough on the PC version.
  9. I'm actually with Vol here (for the second time today, I think I need to go take a nap down in the shade), even by reducing the story elements to a point of absurdity, you're still not describing the games accurately. You could go with 'they're both games about guys (or girls) who fight evil in space. And have a ship.' But they you've reduced it to the point where you are describing everyting from Doom to Dead Space as well.
  10. I never got even this far in the game, so I'm following this with great interest.
  11. I am unsure as to how old 'that young' is. Should we have a poll? I'm a few months short of 30!
  12. I've been completely out of the loop for years, but looks like I'll finally get to see something this year... So, no :D
  13. More like misguided. Elitist is pretty much everything else posted on this board.
  14. This. And using a couple of movie series, most of which were certainly never planned as trilogies as examples to the contrary isn't exactly refuting the point here. In fact, ME2 is the 'classic' trilogy midpoint that builds into the final episode. Like Empire Strikes Back (which probably does it better than ME2, but still). Overall, I've found both Mass Effect games rather enjoyable (in fact, extremely so), just as I have found Baldur's Gate 2, Deus Ex etc. in the past. I obviously have a different standard for games than most people here, I'm not looking for some (apparently nonexistent, as I don't think I've heard any game get universal praise here) 'perfect game', just having a good time for a while (a shorter while in the case of Modern Warfare 2, several weeks over a few playthroughs in ME2, or a really long time of less good time in the case of DAO )
  15. It works on the 360, but probably with more bugs. I know. If I ever look forward to replaying the hotel escape and the other village escape on the pickup, I'll try it on the 360. Doesn't look like that I will, for the next couple of years or so.
  16. Well, that's at least funny - I've been into audio and home theatre for a while (and am serious to the point that I own a home theatre amp worth more than I make in a month), but the amount of loonies willing to spend more than 2 500 on cables that add 'transparency' to the sound... sigh, words fail me, so I'll just: http://www.nordost.com/
  17. Or you could just use MC Hammer...
  18. I have all the Gold Box and Legend series RPG's installed using custom DOSBOX shortcuts. I have the original Mac OS versions of Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, the Dark Queen of Krynn and Unlimited Adventures, including boxes and discs, + a CD-ROM compilation with the other two that were released for the platform! No direct dosbox shortcuts here, but I do have the dos versions installed on both my computers... but I still wind up playing Deathtrack whenever I'm feeling nostalgic.
  19. I'm not sure of the rationale, but I assume it's somehow related to points/real money changes depending on the buyer's location... That said, I think it's an absolutely idiotic system (which I can somewhat understand on the console side, as they sell those 'point' cards to kiddies without credit cards) and vastly prefer Sony's more straightforward approach. As idiotic as the 'you can only buy one package of points at a time' webstire is, Bio at least sells points in DLC cost equivalent units, unlike Microsoft...
  20. I remember NWN1 (It was the very first pay2play online MMO) I call your NWN and raise with my Pool of Radiance. I'm just too lazy to walk upstairs and take a picture of the box.
  21. Vehicle combat? Colour me interested! Aren't they going to release a "GOTY" edition of this game soon so I can pick all of it up at the same time? Oh, and I will play through Mass Effect soon too! If only I can force myself to install it. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. But there's going to be blade runneresque/fifth elementesque flying car chasing/combat in the new DLC. No word of a GOTY yet, but depending on what the PS3 version gets in, er, February? it might be safe to assume that a PC/X360 version would come out around the same time.
  22. There's a thread on the Bio Dragon Age 2 forums, 'what do you like about DA2 that doesn't deal with the romances'. It's the shortest thread in the board. I'm really stoked about the Shadow Broker DLC, the vehicle combat really had me jaw-dropping. I really hope they show us how they can do really good DLC!
  23. in the U.S. of A., grad school endures as the only remaining form of legalized slavery. HA! Good Fun! The people who work in the campus kitchen earn almost double what I do.
