  1. Bollocks, Guitar Hero alone proved you wrong. You can kill a golden goose if you try hard enough - like Acti keep trying.
  2. I don't think they will, at least not for now. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they used it in their bf3 marketing, since they are the ones playing catch-up.
  3. The Swedes came out with a similar, grand declaration after Three Mile Island. No points for guessing that they quietly backtracked before the deadline.
  4. We can do it in a thread dedicated to QTE. Sorry, but I can't help but notice that, depending on the company, some people here are far more willing to excuse bad design/presentation, in one direction or another. Watch out, you'll be on the menu next.
  5. FINLAND DOES NOT OBEY I went to school with that dude's seriously hot daughter.
  6. I'm still the wrong gender. And have short, hairy legs. Well, for my height anyway.
  7. *looks around* This is pre-emptive, I take it? Or are we just talking about all the "bonus" items? Yeah, don't really care enough about them to consider it a flaw, but it has kind of reached absurd proportions.
  8. I'd just be happy for the excuse to get one that can bitsream hd audio. Since there's no audible difference, I'm not ready to pay just for the joy of getting different things light up on my amp.
  9. That's the niche they are trying to fill here.
  10. Another day writing job applications. I now have a constant headache when I even think about one, never mind work on one. Considering the time of year, I'm probably going to be fighting with a bunch of new graduates, too. For some reasons, the ones with modeling agencies in their CVs always get jobs before me.
  11. No issues with my thick dark princess, either in la noire or outside of it. Vertical placement, plenty of air around, probably plenty of dust within, at least one 20h non-stop session. Mine's a late 2007, though. they'd moved to the smaller nms for some components by then.
  12. Next. My reaction was "next" at the harry potter knock-off in the first screen.
  13. Airlines have always been priority targets due to the symbolic connection they traditionally have had to nation states (outside of the U.S., anyway). Getting to mess with a flag carrier gives you terrorist cred unlike any other civilian target, you essentially have to start hitting military or diplomatic targets
  14. So basically, they are not making a Hitman sequel. Mmh. There's basically two options here, they either make it a max payne to court the dudebros, or they go to hitman 2 and make it so that you can essentially go through all the levels shooting, you just get a worse rating. At least that's what I remember of the progression of the series, 3-4 were less forgiving in that sense. Still, I don't think the expression I used above has ever been more fitting (ok, maybe deus ex iw is close) than here.
  15. Yeah, pretty much agree with everything you wrote here. I'm not sure what the cut burglary desk had in it, but I think it would have given the opportunity to tie the desks together better. Vice would've benefited from a case or two more.
  16. I dunno, I don't even have an opinion re:Witcher 2 itself, but just the sheer amount of people I consider to be complete **** fawning over it completely turns me off it, even if some people for whom I have at least a modicum of respect tell me I should definitely go for it.
  17. I mentioned my reasons above. I don't think M$ is going to use built to order drives, they haven't before (which is why a bunch of people got new xboxes, when it turned out that some drives don't support the new disc format). Of course, the latter might be a sign that they should precisely do that, but... I don't think it's an option, they'll either swallow their pride and put in a blu-ray drive with some corporate bs explanation about "not wanting to limit the accessibility" (true) or wanting to give their fans the maximum amount of choice (not true) or just trample on with a download-only model. After drumming up the benefits of digital downloads over BD, just using some other, random high capacity format instead would IMO make them even more laughable than just slapping in a blu-ray drive and being done with it.
  18. You'd understand the mods position, if you read the other threads too. The troll brigade has been flooding every single thread with "omglolwitcherissomuchbetterthanthisbiowaresux" for months, certainly much before w2 came out. While I'm sure that it's behaviour you fully endorse, you must understand how it can get a bit tedious and breach forum rules, never mind the rules of common courtesy.
  19. A format for which nobody manufactures drives and the licensing body of which has been shut down? I wouldn't call that exactly "viable", I certainly don't believe that M$ would start using a proprietary disc format, requiring special drives, which is what HD DVD would mean. Or if they did, it would be a pretty radical departure for them.
  20. More details on the contents of the patch, including a class rebalance.
  21. New Hitman dumbed down (You know I hate the term, but when you are planning on making Hitman more accessible, there is no other word for it.)
  22. That's what you get when you live in a frakking 3rd world country. Any decent modern society has job security to the point where firing someone for not working overtime would render them liable to pay compensation due to illegal termination of employment. If you happen to live in a such country and are tired of taking it up the arse then get organized, that's exactly what unions are for. All I can say is that even in Finland, everything is not that rosy when it comes to overtime. It's more related to unions than anything else.
  23. I'm drawing the opposite conclusion here. Sony's overengineering the PS3 is what cast them down form the PS2 heavens in the first place. It's not like replacing 2005 with 2013 alone is necessarily a bad idea, and one that M$ is going to automagically beat. They're the one who're in the RD clamp now, anyway, their disc format is insufficient and IMO digital distribution of 20gb+/game isn't yet viable. Not sure if it's going to be in a couple of years, certainly not in the scale they would need to do it.
