  1. But otoh, there's Oscuro's which basically saved the game for me. I didn't really care about the gameplay. Nothing could fix the butchered setting.
  2. What about Captain America's getting shot with a bullet in the brainpan sending him to another dimension? Or was that just back in time, too? I can never remember. Omega beams I can understand. They're like magic beams. But Cap got a bullet to the noggin. IIRC sniper used a gun made by Dr Doom that transported him through space & time... There's always a lame cop-out. Ms Marvel exploded when her energy overloaded, and she was returned by an entity called "the Storyteller".
  3. Why hello, there. Anyway, in before Fermi's paradox and Drake's equation.
  4. I bet Ed Greenwood is always Elminster in a D&D session. I wonder if he based the old wizard off himself... which would probably explain the stuff he wrote about Elminster's trysts with the Simbul & Storm Silverhand.
  5. Thor comes in May 6, 2011 and definitely has potential. I'm not sure about the title actor, though... a younger Kenneth Branagh would've been perfect for it. But screw Marvel, the movie to watch next year is Green Lantern.
  6. Cut it out with the Batman already.
  7. Also, Nightwing > Batman
  8. Not to mention in case of Oblivion, 90% of mods are trash if you're not into furry, anime and sexual deviancy.
  9. Well, the main character is a shepherd. I killed it, but if you lead it back where you start the game, it will stay with the other sheep.
  10. Even with no atmosphere or a thin atmosphere, the body would simply keep accelerating without reaching a terminal velocity, and eventually form a paste on the surface of the planet. Then again, the case could be made that Cerberus didn't really need the body to rebuilt, and just some intact DNA sufficed.
  11. Yeh, that's another thing I have gripes with. Unless the N7-armour had Space Shuttle heat-shielding, normally Shepard's body would've burnt completely to cinders in the atmosphere of the planet (s)he crash-landed on. There wouldn't even have been anything left to recover save maybe a few small balls of carbon.
  12. What post-processing setting are you talking about? Unchecking a lot of the options in that big 'Video' list, or something else? The post-processing option in advanced settings. Strangely enough, unchecking this option when using the European colour palette, makes it look almost exactly like the American colour palette.
  13. Iron Man was actually pretty cool, until Civil War happened. Biggest disappointment of that series was Captain America not finishing off the jerk, but bailing out and getting sniped later on.
  14. Well, I've played & finished the demo and liked it. No complaints about the voice acting, really, I've heard much worse. It sounded like the main hero was voiced by Alistair from DA:O. Melee combat is terrible, though, and seems to be trumped by ranged combat completed. I could easily defeat any melee enemies by simply backtracking and sniping them in the head. The magic seemed fun & useful. As long as not much of the Forsaken Gods nonsense is used in the game, it should be alright.
  15. I'm finally playing the demo and for me the game runs best with post-processing off. Anyone know what this option does, exactly? It seems to impact the look of the game quite a lot. On: Off:
  16. I guess the Widening Gyre isn't official either? Here's what Smith wrote about it:
  17. For example? That car chase was awesome. Too short and obviously ripped from Attack of the Clones.
  18. I finally sat down & played Lair of the Shadow Broker. I'd rate it with a 10/10 if not for a crash during a cutscene, forcing me to re-do a bossfight. Oh, and that car "chase" was retarded. The Sentinel class again proved its superiority; coming with Liara's Singularity & Warp and Legion's drone & head-popping all the filler combat was over very, very quickly. I do think, though, that it should've been part of the vanilla game. The dossiers alone, for instance, clear up a few glaring plotholes in ME2.
  19. Guess what, Risen's final "boss" is worse. Much, much worse.
  20. Well, I guess that's the last drop.
  21. There's a couple of German ones. There are probably some Polish & Spanish/Italian ones as well, but I cannot into those languages.
  22. Later on, when the goons have firearms, your best friend will be stealth. Rich industrials trying to play superhero are better off as Iron Man, amirite?
  23. My biggest gripe is the looks of the player character. With that haircut, he looks like a complete douchebag.
  24. I thought it referred to "popping" the heads that pop up from behind cover (like in whack-a-mole) in modern shooters. It says a lot with just one word, I'm definitely going to use that one.
  25. Yeah, I'll disagree with that. TW voice is atrocious. It is severely grating. Shephard is nowhere near those levels. It's not that bad, really, compared to most other (Eastern) European developed games. It's just the "mayhap" in every single sentence that's really annoying. I sometimes think a lot of European studios use their leftover budgets to quickly pick up a few random foreign exchange students or language students from a local university to serve as "voice actor".
