^ Ha. Lean beef mince and pork. My grandmother, being Jewish, would spin in her grave that I'd modified it with pig. For some reason, East London Jews (many of them Yiddish-speaking Poles) call meatloaf 'Chop-Meat'. (Edit: Not that there are many East London Jews left, they all migrated to Essex and Herts).

What do you mean when you say an RPG with a soul? Can you elaborate a little around this requirement Presumably James Brown is a NPC.

^ 'tis the supper of Champions.

My late Grandmother's meat loaf recipe (garlic, rosemary, mustard, black pepper and a beef stock-cube, 2 x egg yolks, bread-crumbs and some crème fraiche to keep it light), steamed green beans and my own special Dauphinoisse potatoes (cream, cheese and more garlic, roasted with a splash of chicken stock, it's almost tartiflette TBH) washed down with a bottle or three of a cheeky Chilean Merlot.

... because they are members of a quasi-fascist, nihilistic death cult that celebrates the murder of innocents? Edit: And I don't mean Islam. Please see previous Monte-grams for my ongoing respect for the world's great religions.

I checked today, and if you want this book, you need to order it from anywhere that has copies in stock. The reprint under way is hardback only, and will cost around 24 quid. If you can put up with less maps, I bought mine on Kindle.

I think I remember you from a very, very long time ago. Pre-2004, easily, on the old boards IIRC. There were those drop-down thread board software with crazy reply chains. Karzak and Gromnir featured heavily, as did Sargy and 6'8 Italian Warlord or whatever he was called. I was posting on the Unwashed Village and was a moderator on BGDungeon when I migrated to BIS (sort of Planescape-coming-into-IWD1). Sh1t, I remember posting about the time of 9/11 with some folks from these boards, we all shared that awful WTF vibe.

Cognitive dissonance is a two-way street, I'm sure at Bioware it played it's part when they signed off DA2 as being fit for release.

It never snows in September, Op. Market Garden from the German perspective. Easily as good as Cornelius Ryan's A Bridge Too Far but utterly different. It makes you realise that (a) the Allies fought brilliantly to do as well as they did, and (b) The Germans were the masters of military improvisation, even in the face of utter defeat. If you like military history, highly recommended.

^ It's a smack on the nose for Jay Wilson (bwahahahaha), but a quick look at community reaction shows that this is a largely positive development.

In other news, Blizzard have announced that they are shutting down the real-money *and* gold auction house in Diablo III. This will be March next year. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/10974978/ Is this a brave, non-cynical move that acknowledges a mistake? Or something else? Personally I like the new Loot 2.0 system that they've said will replace AH (or at least mitigate the need for it) so am not bothered by the removal.
