Before you all chime in about the supra-national status of the Internet, I'd simply ask you to ponder the law in country 'A' and their relationship with country 'B' (assuming country 'B' is where the server is). The case of people like Gary McKinnon illustrates how governments will seek to protect (quite properly) the integrity / ownership of their data. Now, if we're talking about piracy, that's a whole other issue beaten to death on these forums. We have a generation now who expect content for free - which is fine but who, eventually is going to (be able or afford) create content for nothing?

I can see where you are going and am inclined to agree. Both sides view the other as the head of the snake, the only difference is that the Saudis need alliances in a way Iran doesn't. Saudi Arabia is a small country that would be utterly insignificant if it weren't for (a) Mecca and (b) oil. Iran is a sophisticated nation state with significant military, political and cultural power. Both see themselves as guardians of the flame vis-a-vis their respective iterations of Islam. Both fund proxies. Both a net exporters of terrorism. Both are theocracies. Both have nascent opposition movements. So, yeah, I totally get your point.

A force move order would be good, whereby troops took the most direct route to an objective, but micro is all part of CoH. If you force moved, especially with the true-sight system, your troops will probably blunder into a machinegun or a lurking Panzer. However, you can stack up orders for units, hit shift + order when toggling them. For example, you can order a unit to move to 'A' vault wall 'B' then take green cover at point 'C' simply by holding down shift. This is what I tend to do, especially with opening units (if I play Soviets, say, I usually send an engineer to cap by shift-clicking then deploy my first three conscripts to cap in cover likewise). So try some shift / click and see if that helps.

Mainly Company of Heroes 2 (big 3 v 3 or 4 v 4 games, which are gonzo but enormous fun), have discovered the joy of IS-2 and T34/85 parties. Fourth Generation warfare baby! Non-state actors co-exist with failed / failing states like a sort of malignant parasite, bleeding but not completely destroying the host. ISIS wants to link up with the Muj in Syria (Jabhat al Nusra), pivot west into Lebanon and force a confrontation with Israel, a Final Countdown (da-da-da-daaaaa). You've gotta hand it to the global Jihad, they really have got their **** together. And because of the preposterous Iraq War, the West can't do anything! Add to this Saudi funding of the whole thing to undermine Iranian proxies in the Levant and the simmering Shia / Sunni civil war (Ummah, where art thou?) and you've got the recipe for a really interesting 2014-2020. I want the basic Ftr / MU / Clrc / Thf bases covered but not too vanilla and am agonising over party composition. Please feel free to throw some suggestions at me. Was thinking uber-cheese power play of - Cavalier Rngr / Cleric Ftr / Thf Sorc Although I also like the idea of an evil party but you don't get that pure power-munchkin composition. You're going uber cheese and using a Cavalier instead of uber dispel Inquisitor? There's cheese and there's cheese. I like the Cav's resistances.

Sniper: Shadow Warrior (eeeuuughhhh), something about blobs attacking (my son's) and a load of Civ expansions.

I like the older style, the graphics are crisp and I like the avatars (especially the rag-tag outfits like the patchwork Mad-Max style leather jackets and the shields fashioned out of garbage cans). I've just got a straightforward melee dude, still only level 9 armed with a big mace bashing stuff up. There's lots of nice little touches, like easy-to-navigate menus and toggles for maps and stuff. I like that. In fact, the only thing I'm not wild about is the soporific music. Dammit I want battle music, not chilled out piano recitals. There's a lot to love about this game, it could be the post-apocalyptic-phantasy version of Diablo 2 we never knew we were waiting for.
