For the love of God back this on Kickstarter.
Monte Carlo replied to Monte Carlo's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'm going to back it but not if I have to ship the beer bags over here. If I can source them in the UK I'll definitely throw some dough at it. Beer is important. Beer innovators require support from Beer Lovers. -
A lot of discussion about the movie (if it actually happens) turns on the epic legal issues - there are dozens of famous brands and IPs that would need to agree to inclusion for the thing to work. This book, were it to work as a movie, will need gutting. I mean that in a good way. And it will be either brilliant as a movie or dire. Nothing inbetween. As a novel, it was simply ingenious, big-hearted, exciting and warm. I could make technical criticisms of the plotting, but it would be like attacking an ice cream sundae for being too sweet and calorific.

All the really top-end backer tiers are US / Kanada only. -
I'm kinda pansexual when it comes to this forum.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ready_Player_One Has anybody else read this? Of course you have. I want to talk about it in a book-club style as I've just finished it and it Made Me Happy. If you haven't read it, why not?

Almost every Bioware franchise has a game with the word 'shadow' or 'shadows' in it at some point, yet they never really feature strongly and when they do are poorly rendered. Why, Bio? WHYYY?

An excellent post Gromnir, which I enjoyed. Point well made. Of course, if you enjoyed a Common Law system like ours, tempered by case law, I suspect you'd enjoy your profession ever more. But I digress.

Man I love this forum.

I'm just moseying around the opening dungeon opening containers, finding keys, trying out my OP abilities on low-level undead (etc). Despite the cartoony graphics (which, zoomed out at 1900 x 1200 really aren't that bad) I can feel the original Divine Divinity heritage (high fantasy cheese, but agreeably ripe). I like throwing items about to trigger traps and it feels Very Olde Skoole. I've made a Knight and a Shadow-thingie chick. They can talk to each other and earn character trait point things, I've noticed. My dumb knight got +1 romantic for not pointing out that Icarus-dude wasn't a fruit loop, for example. All-in-all, at this moment in time, this game looks freaking great. I approve heartily. That people are making games like this again is making little dopamine rushes zing around my brain. Well done, Larian.

Hey, don't make me come over there and give you some freedom. I'm not the one having religious lunatics dictate the political agenda.

You can buy the bags (like Nespresso coffee capsules) from the participating breweries. You save quite a bit of money and your home-poured beer is always fresh. Man, it's like they made a committee to design my perfect Kickstarter product... except it's abroad. -
GOG is losing it's way.

I played Fallout NV as a bit of a sniper and loved creeping about killing everything. Then I discover I find games like Sniper Elite dull. True story. Funny old world.

Just downloading it now. I've been playing Company of Heroes 2 solidly for months and need a break.

You Americans and your Kulture Wars. So cute.

If I lived in the US or Kanada I'd be throwing a few grand at this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1620669801/synek-any-beer-ever-made-fresh-on-your-counter

Someone might lose an eye. I might deploy a facetious tone though, if I get really angry. -

I live in England. If I ever go postal I'll be armed with a banana and maybe a sandwich. -

actually, we had assumed we would be included as a flatulent xvart or somesuch. the fact that we were included as a "paranoid" dictator who were proven ultimately correct, were far better treatment than we expected. HA! Good Fun! ps amentep were a mod from time to time. might be best to ask him if there were a biowarian or black isle directive to stifle openly homosexual posters. I kinda think that Dave was trolling you when he quoted you instead with "HAH! Good Fun!" and making it a half-orc... but again, it turned out better than we expected. dave had emailed to warn us that they were intending on including Gromnir in bg2. our response was, "do your worst." a mini-boss character in tob with voice-over who were tragically given the Cassandra role? far, Far better than expectations. actual, it woulda' been in biowarian best interest to have simple used Gromnir as comic relief. shoulda' realized that boards would react poorly to significant cameos. HA! Good Fun! It was obvious that the brown-nosing fanbots on the Bio boards (as was) would be furious that the disputatious forum contrarian won the honour of a cameo. Personally I think it taught them a lesson. -

Wait you think the culture wars ended in 1989? You think the right wing is winning? Fascinating. 'The Right?' No. Capitalism won the war when Communism collapsed. Their 'progressive' outriders are doing a great job, actually, keeping the flame alive and preventing real progress. Which is letting people figure out their own differences without a narrow, unrepresentative and utopian elite hectoring them about it. -

'Progressive.' I could wax lyrical about the Left's appropriation of certain words, and their mastery of semiotics, but I shant. Suffice it to say I refuse to play their game. They say 'progressive' I say 'Khmer Rouge.' They say 'redistribution' I say 'theft.' They say 'Social Justice' I say 'make everyone equally miserable.' The culture warriors lost the war in 1989, my friends, when their wall came down. But in academia and journalism they're still up there, fighting a brave rearguard action. -

Bruce, by your own admission you like frequenting strip joints and salivating over digital RPG babes. OTOH when it comes to White Knighting you are the most insufferable bore, a sort of tireless missionary for moribund political correctness. Can you explain the ying and yang of these two positions? Are they linked? -

AGX don't read it. Fight the temptation. -
I can't begin to describe how awful, to me, that game looks.
