  1. Admittedly not an expert, but I thought Bio characters wore diapers for sex. Crazed pervert modders do the Victoria's Secret modding and nude stuff, like, for free.
  2. Aazrayel wins "Ludicrous yet insulting hyperbole of the week" award.
  3. I will do you the courtesy of repeating myself - the writing fairy does not mysteriously drop scripts under Avellone's pillow at night. We know that it takes 2/3 months to write an NPC properly (and some of you need to read your own posts back to yourselves... You really do think that the only meaningful NPC interaction is romance and sex minigames? Are you *that* needy?). Romance content equals time and assets that a quiet majority of old-skoolers who never suckled on the teat of next-gen biocrap hated. So No. Please.
  4. The bitterest pill the promancers need to swallow is the on-the-record loathing Avellone and Sawyer have for romances.
  5. But if it's "content" that people are voting against existing to begin with, who gives a ****? If you don't want romance options, turn them off. If you don't want romance options in the game because you're afraid if you have the option you'll be compelled to leave them on, then you voted wrong. With the greatest respect, and although the principle is sound, with romances you might as well have a switch that says 'NPC interaction on / off' if it's romanceable. The one thing that there is consensus on is that romances, done properly, will be a considerable part of the content for that NPC. So somebody will lose out, and I contend that if NPCs are such a big part of the game, then why should the demands of the romance crowd effectively lock out fifty per cent of NPC content for the folks who loathe them? Edit: I'm not going to set on you raptor-like, but the fact that you found something positive in DA2 suggests that, off the bat, we will be at variance at the style of games we enjoy. I like games, you like erotic screen-savers.
  6. Forum is a bit busier today so I reckon this deserves a bump... Dude can we see your take on Forton, but with sensible hair and no flip-flops?
  7. Romance is the food of love. Or is that music?
  8. I have a funny feeling that: (a) He is going to be the snarky Obsidian equivalent of Minsc; and (b) Folks are going to love him. Rather than a "ah, grasshopper" type monk he's going to be the crazy, drug-addled Iggy Pop / Hunter S Thompson of the monk world. So I have spoken, so shall it be.
  9. "Horny old grognards" generally are getting it in the r/w dude.
  10. If by 'mature' you mean pretend love affairs with computer game characters then you and I obviously own different dictionaries.
  11. Many that played BG2 will firstly remember their romances, then other companions, and only then general plot - baalspawn, etc. Majority, i dare to say. Really? Really? * shakes head *
  12. You are asking for something that isn't remotely similar to the precursor games. Again and again and again and again. Romances. A tiny part of BG2. Tiny. You are projecting your need for fan-service, and that's all it is. You don't have to like it. And you are the reasonable end of the promance spectrum, god help us when the rest turn up.
  13. Staples kudos to you sir, it's great and at least ten times better than the concept art. I particularly like her facial expression and the cut lip. Having said that, in my mind's eye I envisaged her hair to be more flame-red / titian than 'flaxen' but then again that's the great thing about art, you end up making these decisions based on prompts and characters. Watch out, though, that gently tapered breast plate will get the PC Taleban that camp on the fringes of this forum out in force as it in some way suggests the gender of the wearer Minor criticism... that ammo pouch looks textureless and too boxy. It needs some love.
  14. * sigh * Yes, having no bananas is exactly like having no moral choices, because it takes away from the experience. Re-read your post, forensically, and try to tease out a few micrograms of sense. No? Me neither. Example: OMG. That building is burning. I can only save either (a) the family sleeping upstairs or (b) the prisoner locked in the cellar who's as evil as sin. But, the prisoner has vital information that might allow me to save more lives. But I can only save one... Now, it's not the greatest example. But at least there's a moral choice and there's no romance. Da-daaaa. As for "it takes away from the experience..." Two things: (1) Please figure out the romance ratio of the precursor titles to P:E. 5%? If I'm being generous. (2) The experience? Waaaa! Don't break my immersion!!! Waaaa!!! If you like dating sims then come out and say it, don't dress it up in terms of moral choices and immersion. Feh.
  15. Conversely, having romance feels artificial. Unless you're playing a squee-laden emo sap.
  16. Of course he isn't representative of all the people on BSN. But, then again, he is representative of a common type of behaviour and attitude over there, which is people who have an unhealthy level of emotional and / or sexual investment in computer game characters. I like being part of this online community. To put it bluntly, I'd prefer not to share it with people like this. It doesn't matter if Obsidian announce to make the most un-romantic romance ever, the Romance Taliban will still come and take a look and camp here. So I'm all for fighting romances, not only because I don't like them personally, but because they are a destructive force that presages an unholy invasion of our community! To arms! Standby to repel boarders! Phasers to DISINTEGRATE!
  17. As and when they announce romances, this lot will head on over here. Mark my words.
  18. Promancers are so sad they simply create lots of .alts to vote for sock-puppet lurve.
  19. That's pretty good, I had the music in my head when I read it. I kind of like the OTT music as my level 25 barbarian splatters a wandering wolf or something. It's a bit Monty Python.
  20. ^ You sir, really are quite mad. You have created your own reality using Star Wars, Christianity and some bizarre gaming paradigm that fell out of your ears. Not that I mind, I think you should stick around TBH. It's delightful. But, nonetheless, your tendency to state random opinion as some sort of iron fact should be noted.
