What Are You Playing Now: The meaning of life
It's just such a pain. This is where FNV really shines, imo. The quests are most of the time limited to a small area and if they send you somewhere else, then always with logic behind it. TES games (edit: and Bethsoft games in general) in contrast will send you to a stupid cave at the end of the world "just because". An example from house Hlaalu in Morrowind: Talk to quest giver in Vivec, he sends me to Caldera. The dude in Caldera will send me to Vivec. Once I am in Vivec, the guy will seriously send me back to Caldera. AND WHEN I AM BACK IN CALDERA, THIS GOD DAMN **** SENDS BE BACK TO VIVEC. And all I did in this questline was to click through dialog. Nothing else. It goes on like that ... Stupid quest design like this is the reason why we need god damn fast travel in every open world game now... because designers can't be arsed to come up with ideas that don't waste your time.

Then that means Life is Strange probably took inspiration from it. In any case, Erased was a great watch and I want more of such quality.

What Are You Playing Now: The meaning of life
I have returned to my old Morrowind savegame (playing with latest OpenMW). Savegame said I have played for 2 days and 15 hours. 😆 Finished Tribunal and barely half of the main games story. Thanks to the absolute garbage quest tracking, it took me a couple hours to retrace my last steps and figure out where exactly in the main story I am. Man, if we wouldn't have wikis with all that detailed info, it would have been impossible to figure out what to do next. Honestly, Morrowind is still a great game. It feels good, looks reasonably good (especially with latest OpenMW features for distant land, etc) and even the writing is good. HOWEVER, as in typical Bethsoft tradition, the quest design is just pure garbage. Everything is sending you from the left side of the worldmap to the right side of the worldmap. There is rarely anything that takes place in the same location. And Bethsoft just doesn't learn from it. They do the same mistake over and over and over again. I'm 100% sure if TES6 is out, it will have exactly the same crappy quest design.

Just the popular stuff on Netflix. Btw. "Erased" was very good. Watched it twice even. It is drawn in a more realistic style with none of the usual anime tropes. Really wish there would be more like that. I checked the wiki and it turns out Erased was released *after* Life is Strange. I'm pretty sure that game served as inspiration.

Well I think art style is very important. 😆 One reason why I hate many animes is that I just loath this maid style stuff. Or this typical anime hair, you know. Over the last year I've watched *a lot* anime stuff. Like, really, feels like I am morphing into a weeb thanks to the Obsidian forums. And this only started because I've watched an anime that was *not* looking like your typical lazy and generic anime (it was Your Name, by the way. Probably the highpoint of all of anime. I keep searching for more like that, but I just can't get it anymore. This is how late-stage drug addicts must feel). Oh man, and there is more that I hate: - I hate anime with this ecchi stuff. Basically sexual scenes which are 110% censored. I'm here like, man, either show something or just skip this bs. - I hate harem anime. One dude and a group of girls who all are kinda into the dude, but the dude is constantly dodging all advances. Ugh. - I hate how every anime seemingly needs at least one child character. Bonus points if this child character appears in harem animes, because then it will always be sexualized in some form. Of course it is always tame stuff, but you just know what the intend is. Anyways ... long story short, I find it very hard to find enjoyable animes 😄 Maybe I should check out Sailor Moon.

You could send Trump to the american part of Cuba.

I think it's quite obvious what is going to happen.

For a long time I didn't even realize they were split. Just wondered one day why there was so little Trump in the thread.

New Scientific Discoveries, Part Drei
^ Got scrubbed, by the way. Next try is today I guess. Last thing I heard, the weather report wasn't that great, though, so there is a good chance it won't happen today either.

I was never big into Karate Kid either. Watched the movie maybe once. However, season 1 of Cobra Kai was really good. It's just that once it got picked up by Netflix, the quality dropped hard and they turned a good promise into just another generic drama show.

Reminds me that I still haven't continued with Cobra Kai season 3. For some reason after the first 2 episodes I felt completely burned out and couldn't find the motivation yet to move on with it.

I just binge watched The Lower Decks. It was ... ok, I guess. Not as bad as I feared, but also not exactly great. Basically it feels like any other such animated tv show from the last two years. Generally it feels very similar to Final Space, but that one is much better, imo. At least it's not as stupid as Picard and STD, etc.

Is this the Sailor Moon forums now?

If this is serious, it's probably the dumbest stuff I've read today. If we would kill every bird that is an "illegal immigrant", we'd be shooting birds all day.

Cyberpunk 2077
I don't get why everyone likes Ciri so much. Found her super boring in the books and hated all the parts with her in the games.

The TV and Streaming thread Series 3
So a few days ago I've watched some of them animal / nature documentaries (Our Planet) on Netflix, and I have to say .... ... man, I ducking hate american-style documentaries. If I am watching a documentary, I don't want to just hastily consume. I want to take in fancy landscapes and learn new interesting facts and stuff like that, but american-style documentaries are always super fast, they cut all the time and jump around in different places and make up weird animal stories that (let's be honest) we all know are just made up based on available footage. It's like whatever they are showing can never be longer than 15 seconds and then they assume the watcher became bored of it. One episode was about desert / steppe and holy crap, they jumped the planet from left to right and it took most of my concentration to keep track of where exactly we currently are on earth. Felt like there was no red line, it just went from here to there and back again. The visuals are epic and super fancy, but the dramatic cuts and fast pacing just completely kill it for me. /rant over.

I just bingewatched One Punch Man season 2 (episodes 1 to 12). Pretty good again, but too little Saitama this time. Though, middle part was a bit boring, because nothing really happened.

"Maybe I'm just easy to please" No, it's actually a decent show. It's probably the only Star Wars I've seen in years where I didn't want to scream while watching it.

Politics... World events
Well, for me personally - I have never heard about that "photo incident", and I have no idea what the Hunter Biden story is (the weird laptop thing??), and russiagate is just ?? for me as well. Soo... The reason why I asked about it is, because the rhetoric reminded me somewhat of our situation in germany. The right wing keeps proclaiming that "left wing terrorism" is extremely dangerous in germany, meanwhile right wingers are assassinating people since years in secret. But yes, "left wing terrorism" is the danger we are facing. 🤔
-
Politics... World events
"my guess" ok. To me this smells like just the same right-wing bs as always.
-
Politics... World events
Sorry, I thought you'd give me a twitter account similar to Trump that just spews bs all day long and not a few random stories.
-
Politics... World events
Ok, I'll bite. Where are these (full of lies) left extreme twitter accounts that should be censored? Honest question, because I don't know any of them.
-
Politics... World events
This is just right wingers being scared of losing their voice. Free speech is one thing, but constantly lying is another.

I like how this dude tried to study law to become a lawyer or whatever and get himself out of it, but later dropped that, because he found out he aint smart enough for that. Makes me wonder if he realized by now that he f'd up good and isn't the genius he thought he'd be. Most of the world already forgot about him and his action pretty much changed nothing except getting him into jail forever. /Edit: "And he gets to decide what type of console he prefers????" He doesn't. If I remember right, his request got denied.
