  1. But then why mention it in the first place? Looks to me like attention-seeking. Heck, until yesterday I didn't even know he was somewhat involved at some point.
  2. So it's said now that Bloodlines won't use any work done by MCA. Dunno if it was decided already before, or just triggered by the recent news, but they felt the need to announce that at least.
  3. The golf club scene happens at ~1 or 2 hours, I'm way past that and it didn't bother me at all. I was just surprised at how graphic it was. I don't see a problem in how it came to be - actually it seems quite reasonable. Besides, it's 4 years after the first game and people change. Not sure why the situation should be out of character for him.
  4. Oh come on. What do you want? 1. You can't kill father figures in video games anymore, or 2. A big trigger warning at the start "ATTENTION: A FATHER-FIGURE MIGHT GET KILLED IN THIS GAME"? .... This is some sensitivity bs. Might as well remove all hints of rape, torture, war, etc. from any game, because someone somewhere likely will be triggered by it. If you use this to judge a game, it's no better than all this political correctness crap. I can't give a conclusion on quality of the story yet, because I'm only a couple hours in. But that's my point ... rating the story now is stupid. I'll tell you more in the future. /Edit: I am not sure if this is trolling or genuine. Where did I write anything about white supremacists?
  5. How can people complain about a shait story if they haven't played more than ~1 hour? This is such dumb crap, I don't even know how to reply to that. Also not sure what the father of that korean guy has to do with this, did someone kill him with a golfclub? Man, this garbage really pisses me off, especially the pathetic disk-breaking.
  6. So why is she talking about this now again? /Edit: lol...
  7. Started playing The Last of Us 2. I'm 3 or so hours in the game now. First: Graphics are amazing. RDR2 was good, but this is even better. On the other hand, RDR2 had a big, mostly open world while that's not the case in TLoU2 (is that a working acronym?), so I guess that evens it out. Second: As I had expected, the big QQ from players after the story-leak happened is because these people hate change ... Third: So annoying how everyone talked about the look of that one female. Yeah, I get it, it's not a supermodel ... but will survivors in such a post-apocalyptic world really look like supermodels? I'd say it looks realistic and it's something different for once (hurr durr). Other than that, so far so good. Feels pretty much like the first game.
  8. Started playing a little bit MGS5 again and man, it's still hooking me. Shame we never got any sorts of expansion to the game.
  9. So if anyone can be fired at any time for no reasons given, then ... this whole "can't fire gay people"-thing is ... kinda useless? They will certainly say that you have not been fired because of the gay, then you will have to bring the prove, which in most cases is probably pretty hard or impossible.
  10. The game was really hard - sometimes in an unfair way. This combined with the checkpoint saving needed some real nerves. I was still in school back in the days, so had lots of free time, but if a game would do that to me today, I'd stop playing it after a few hours.
  11. I dunno man. Isn't that kind of campiness part of the charm of these games? It's not like we liked Bloodlines because it had such a high production value. Or just look at Deus Ex - ain't exactly AAAA+ either.
  12. I mean, if the game would play 1:1 like the original Mafia 1, then I'm most certainly not going to touch it. Like, Mafia 1 was really cool, but I still remember the horrible checkpoint system and balance issues and how often you had to replay chapters, and all the long driving you had to do in *every* mission ... There are quite a few areas that would profit from improvements.
  13. The city looks great, though. Not going to pre-order, but right now I'm pretty sure to check it out at some point.
  14. Man, I had the hots for Damsel back in the days. But seeing this face now ....
  15. I don't like either, but especially that this thing is vertical and not horizontal.
  16. Problem is that the game has changed quite a lot since the campaign was made. Occasionally BI is fixing these issues, but many of these issues aren't exactly easy to fix. Later campaigns are much less error prone.
  17. Tell me about it. I finished the Ant missions + Allied missions from Counterstrike in 2 days. I'm now doing the Allied Aftermath missions. I never realized before that some of the new units in Aftermath were also in Counterstrike - just not with custom graphics. The nuclear bomb trucks are there and if you destroy them, they drop a crate - picking up the crate will spawn a nuclear explosion. Also the tesla tanks already exist, they just use the shadow generator vehicle graphics. I'm guessing Westwood liked the idea so much, they put them into the game as "official" units.
  18. Haha yeah, exactly that. The worst is - half the missions so far don't even require you to destroy all enemy units ... but of course they don't tell you that. What infuriates me is how easily the infantry dies. And NOD is spamming flamers like crazy... they even wreck your vehicles fast. It reminds me of why I always did tank-spam back in the days. In a way, mixing units is way more important in TD than in RA where all you do is just to throw the heaviest tanks you have at the enemy. Nevertheless, I still love these games so much. And the updated graphics are very faithful too - after just a few minutes I don't even realize anymore that this isn't the pixelated original. Sometimes I also just hit the space bar just to get back to the old. It's great they added this feature in. /Edit: I've started playing the Covert Ops missions. I actually never had the addon for TD, so this is a 100% first for me. Turns out these missions are A LOT more enjoyable. Guess they learned from their mistakes from before.
  19. I forgot how much harder Tiberian Dawn is compared to Red Alert. Sitting on the GDI campaign today, I'm in mission 13 or 14 and it's frustratingly hard at times. I'd actually say it is very unfair most of the time, due to cheating ai and weird / bad mission design. Bit of a shame, because I kinda like the setting of TD more than that of RA, but RA pretty much improved every area of the first game. I mean ... hell, you even have to micro-manage the repair bay in TD. The "mark x units, click repair bay, wait for everything to be done"-thing was added with RA and doesn't work in TD ... (IMO this is something they really could have brought into the game with the remaster) and that's just one example.
  20. It doesn't have an additional launcher.
  21. The problem with FFXIV is that A Realm Reborn is for the most part EXTREMELY BORING. It's a 110% fetch-quest galore and the developers have no shame to send you over the whole worldmap time and time again. Sometimes they send you to a far away place to talk with a character (3 lines of dialog) and then you are to move back from where you came. Horrible. However, once you are past this terrible slog, the game becomes a lot more fun. The post-ARR story quests suddenly become good, the story becomes interesting, and there is much less fetch-quest stuff. This continues into the first expansion, which looks and feels a lot better already. Can't say how it continues after that, because I just finished it myself and will head into expansion #2 next up. As far as I've read, though, it keeps improving and getting better. So yeah, the biggest issue of the game is that you first have to get through the initial slog, which sadly are quite a few hours of content...
  22. If you have trouble seeing enemy soldiers, you can enable a visual help in the difficulty settings. I used it all the time in A2, but in A3 I didn't need it anymore.
  23. Just watched the first 30 seconds and read the title, but didn't Bethesda do exactly the same.
  24. Oh please, Trump can't survive 3 hours without twitter.
  25. I thought the Pursuer was kinda easy. You can always dodge him to the right on his attack. If I remember right, my trick was to dodge forward, past him. This way you get out of his reach faster and more secure.
