Yeh but america's "commie scare" will never make it possible. I mean, just read comments on... I don't know, youtube or whatever where american democrats are being called hardcore communists. It's funny and baffling and unbelievable dumb. And these people are everywhere, spewing their bs.

I don't like how every episode is barely 20 minutes long. It's just not enough time.
-
I thought MWO is the multiplayer.

lol @ the YT comments. It always baffles me how much america is in on the "there is only black or white"-shtick. Can't see any grey. Funny thing is, this is totally reflected in american RPGs. Stuff like Oblivion, Skyrim, Mass Effect, etc. all has nothing but black and white choices.

I'm not hyped for it at all. All I've seen of it so far was... mediocre at best, I guess. The missions looked boring and very same-y, I'm scared of the companion ai (bet it sucks), and yes, we have heard surprisingly little about the story, which makes me think it won't be good or interesting at all. It still looks interesting, but not 40 bucks interesting.

As far as I am aware, they did the same with the railway - underfund it till it breaks, then point fingers and say it ain't working, then sell it off to private companies. Same reason why german railway / transport system becomes more and more garbage. The government says folk should stop using private cars because the roads are full and global warming, and at the same time the public transportation costs are rising. Job well done I guess.

Did you not read the latest news? There are strong indications that the current political party in the UK wants to get rid of the NHS who control drug prices. This paves the road to a US-style pricing system, which means everything will spiral out of control and the folks in charge will make billions while everyone else gets f'd from behind. This is not a conspiracy, but a very real thing that could happen. Boris Johnson is pretty much the UK version of Trump and you can't trust a single word he says. At this point it's just a matter of time until everything goes down the ****ter for real.
-
Yeah. Sure. But things in the UK could change to the US model in the future, and that would suck pretty hard... because the US model is bull****. Doesn't matter if in Australia it rains from the ground, nobody should seriously want to adapt the US healthcare model.

I am able to make mods on pc. Can't do that on a console. That's also why I loath anything game streaming, because streaming automatically means you can't make mods for games, duh.

Love that video of 'em talking about Trump. I lol'd and it kinda makes them more sympathetic. Boris still sucks hard, though. It's weird seeing politicians gossip like that. Makes them almost look human.

Looks like Life is Strange 2 is finally out completely. Guess I could check it out then.

There's special buildings already on the map, which you deliver resouces to. Unlike bridges, etc. you can't place them down yourself. To be honest, I find this a tad annoying. But once you have a full highway, going around and delivering stuff becomes so much faster / easier ....
-
^ like as many player build structures as possible. The game "connects" you with these players, so the more likes you give, the more likely player structures will appear in your game. I've build about 3 or 4 road pieces only, but have an almost full highway available.

Somewhere in between I felt like watching the intro of a very cheesy 80s tv show.

Regarding driving on rocks: You can lift the front wheel when pulling back the left analog stick. This way you can get past lots of obstacles. Also the jump-button is useful (works even in the truck later).

Started playing again, because of the new DLC and mechs, etc... Cool so far. What I find funny is how Battletech itself (without realizing it?) makes a point about how clearly mechs are inferior to tanks. As soon as you're fighting a bunch of heavy armor, you really have to start taking care of your mechs, because they will get shredded. Tanks are plenty, annoying, tiny, fast, you have to aim-fire if you want to take them down quickly... They are barely a fraction of the size of a mech, much easier on the tech-side and likely much, much cheaper as well. So going by that... what's the point of fielding mechs? Might as well just load your dropship full with a battalion or two of tanks.

Ugh, don't remind me of how ****ty Wolfenstein became... I fear the same treatment would happen to a new Dishonored game at this point.

That's where the pretty landscape and music comes into play. : > Though I understand that that's not for everyone.

Josh Sawyer on why modern Obsidian plays it safe
Lexx replied to Infinitron's topic in Obsidian General
Pretty sure the "playing it safe" was more about the kind of quests and their complexity and not the games setting. And yeah, later Oblivion games don't feel as "free" anymore as before. Just check out all the permutations in Beyond the Beef, which Sawyer pointed out. This quest is BIG with lots of different options. I have yet to see anything like that in the Outer Worlds. It's exactly how he says... risky quest, very bug-prone, can cost you lots of (development) time. So instead you go with "the usual quest formula", which maybe has some choices and different consequences, but is never super complicated at its core. -
Eh, couldn't care less about the multiplayer part. It probably won't be great anyway and quickly forgotten.
-
Just take a different route? It's what I do, it's what the game probably wants you to do. As far as I am aware, you can walk around most of that stuff. Personally I loved the early game way more than the late game. You have to manage your carry weight, your route to take, and you need to take care not to drop anything. As soon as you get the truck, it'll change... you just load it full and call it a day. Then it *really* is only drive from a to b, which takes a lot away from the game, imo. (Though luckily there are still valid "walking"-options, via exoskeleton and hooverthingy, etc which are more fun).
-
So I was thinking the game will never look like the trailer on my PC. But then I thought... it's still Source engine, right? It looks better, but only because of high-res models and textures. So maybe it actually won't be that performance hungry... Kinda tensed now. I'm very likely going to buy this.
-
So you're saying it actually doesn't matter to you, because you won't be playing it?

I'm pretty sure there were hands in HL1/2.
