  1. Did someone try to build such a ship, for science? So far I've read various comments about it going from "it would be too heavy because of all the wood"(??) to "it can only float on rivers" and then "it can totally traverse the oceans". However, some said the design would start rotating around itself when on the open water, etc. etc. Seems either nobody is 100% sure if this works, or there are too many experts on the internet. /edit: Another point would be if the ship was really as big as depicted in the model, or if they just made it a little bigger for whatever reason.
  2. Played it for 20 minutes. Absolute garbage. Game starts with you climbing a wall... which is on-screen hotkeys which you have to press to progress. Probably would have been better to just make this a cutscene .... Combat is boring. You "stun" enemies, then execute them. Same animations over and over. Attacking feels like you hit the air ... it's just not satisfying. Map design was lame as (w)hell. It's not scary at all. It's just lots of gore. Especially wieners are around every corner. Punched a pregnant woman, then grabbed inside from down below and pulled out a baby. Honestly, this is all just for shock value and so people talk about it ... gameplay-wise it is not interesting at all and doesn't look good either. tl;dr - They try to get you with curiosity and shock value, but the game itself looks garbage. Don't spend money on it.
  3. I'm downloading the Prologue now, which is free. Let's see what happens.
  4. Pretty sure this is mostly chinese propaganda and / or wishful thinking. If ships like that would really work and be economical, we would have seen them everywhere.
  5. Steam machines flopped years ago. Will be interesting to see if the VR headset will go away as well in the sooner future. Would be interesting to know how well Alyx was selling.
  6. Wow, I almost bought AssCreed Origins last week, but felt bad about the still 60 bucks price tag ... and today I see that it was reduced by 80% ... I would have been seriously pissed if I bought it last week.
  7. No surprise about lack of PoE3, and no surprise about 1st person PoE. We heard talk about it ("Feargus would like to do that") for a while now. My personal opinion: Even if it plays like Skyrim, it won't get the same success unless they make it possible to create mods this time. Nobody is talking about their last game anymore ... heck, I even forget the name, and IMO big part in that is lack of any mods.
  8. Motorcycles in the remake? SOLD.
  9. Well, and now the video is no more.
  10. Well, I liked the game very much and wouldn't mind replaying it again.
  11. The YT comments are gold already.
  12. I never bothered with that dragon. Was it at least worth the effort?
  13. The trailer of that Lower Decks makes it feel exactly like Final Space. I guess it'll be the same / almost the same thing.
  14. So I finally finished The Last of Us 2. Generic tl;dr: Not a bad game. Probably as good as the first one, maybe a little bit better. Game offers some more freedom due to the map design. In the first game you were constantly following a "straight line" while in the second everything is split into smaller arena-type maps, which you can freely walk around in. However, it's still very much a linear game. What annoyed me a lot is how the gender / sex stuff is shoveled into the players face at all times - Ellie the lesbian, Abby the woman with the body of a man, later someone who is transgender, etc. Generally I really wouldn't have cared about this at all, but the way the game presents this to you is just... so bad. It's hard for me to put this in words. It just felt so extremely unrealistic how this post-apocalyptic world is super inclusive. Kinda weird that they missed out a hit at zombie genders... Anyways, some heavy spoilers below ... Other than that, boy the game is brutal. The gore is quite harsh, the camera isn't shy and will make you look right at it. I don't remember the first game having such a level of violence. There's more to say about the game, but it's late and I really have to hit the bed now ...
  15. Man, I totally forgot about Death Stranding. I didn't even finish the game yet. One day I just kinda stopped playing ... I think it was because they suddenly used a crowbar to add in shooter elements, which really felt unfitting + it frustrated me a lot in that boss fight, because all the hours before you never fired a gun, so never learned how to effectively use them.
  16. *not entirely true. This genre started with Commandos and that is pretty much a puzzle game (I always hated it when folks compared the game to Jagged Alliance, just because you command a group of soldiers). However, Desperados does indeed loosen the strings a bit and allows for more freedom in your approach. Commandos 2 and 3 went down the same road later.
  17. Also Farscape is much more wacky, with lots of wacky stories and wacky characters.
  18. Problem is, there's not many space wild west shows on the tv. So...
  19. I bet for many it will be Skyrim.
  20. The only issue I have with my PS4 is that I have like... 4 games. Most of the time the device is off and I'm not using it.
  21. I'm working on getting some more tomestone stuff right now. So far I'm quite happy with how the Neo-Ishgardian looks like in combination with the raid gear. Neo-Ishgardian gear looks really good on my bard, but man, I hate how everything my tank can wear has these silly big and spiky shoulder pads. Basically for my Gunbreaker they give me two choices: 1. Silly shoulder pads, or 2. edgy coat. Annoying. I haven't finished the 5.2 post-story quests yet. Trying not to rush it too much, because 5.3 is "right around the corner" now. Doing the different raids, eden's gate, etc. in the meantime. Also got me my Gunbreaker and Bard resistance weapons. Other than that I still think the SHB content is *a lot* better than most of the stuff in SB.
  22. Yeah, it's hilarious and sad at the same time. Really don't know why people have to be so dumb on the internet.
  23. Finished the FFXIV Shadowbringer storyline with my Gunbreaker. The last section had some super boring walk-around-some-more moments, but the actual ending was fantastic. Very well done, especially for an MMO. Honestly, I find this game to be a quite pleasant experience all around. You don't really have to grind super hard, you can switch your character class at any time, the characters are likable (except for Lyse, god I hate her), and the story / quest design is mostly well done. The other people in the raids, etc. are usually not toxic either, even if you f- up a bit, which is also something I don't really know from other games. Will probably start with the post-Shadowbringer content now. 20 quests have been released already, and the next batch will arrive in the new patch next month.
  24. I never even heard of "mixer" till now.
  25. Funny, I'm still with FFXIV as well. I never got into MMOs, because their mechanics bore me after 2 to 3 weeks at max, but this game... Man, the story has some real heights. Started Shadowbringers two days ago and IT'S SO GOOD. It looks great, it's fresh, it's theme is mostly new to me, etc. etc. Stormblood had some good moments, but generally wasn't as good as Heavensward imo, especially Lyse is so god damn annoying, I hate her so much and was happy whenever she was not around ...... but Shadowbringers so far is simply blowing it away. What sucks a bit is that since I've hit level 70, the bonus experience was disabled, so now I stopped outleveling the quest requirements and have to do some grind. Also switched from Archer/Bard to Gunbreaker, so now I'm a super cool heroic dude with a knife that has a gun build into it.
