  1. Yeh, the feeling of being able to beat the enemies pretty much made Dark Souls for me. At first I wanted to rage and quit and all of that, but now I love it. On the other side, I don't feel motivated to start a 100% fresh character, though... as leveling up still results in a truckton of grind, unless you are so good with the combat system that you won't take any hits. /Edit: What I also like is this old knights kind of stuff. Cool helmets to wear, etc. like this: You can pretty much look like a cool gladiator, if you want to (well, at least in DS2).
  2. I am so pissed off from this. I want a real addon for Rome 2, but instead we get a new full price title in 3 months that almost looks like Rome 2 again. Also don't even bother with the screenshots, they are doctored pr shots anyway. This has always been the case so far.
  3. Yeah, that game must be sick with Oculus Rift. But I fear my computer won't have the necessary graphic power to run it well in 3D. Not even next year when I get me some new hardware.
  4. Fuuu. It didn't see me in that situation, heh. The moment I thought it would jump at me - and me being ready with the flamethrower - it instead jumped up into the vents and disappeard. Have to say, since I got the flamethrower and noticed how the ai works, I am not that much scared anymore. It's like I lost the fear of the unknown.
  5. Could have used a taser or w/e. I thought american policel oves it so much to tase people. Honestly, with all the reports coming up (and probably because I've read all the stuff about the pennsylvania police stuff like this), it makes me feel as if american police isn't there to secure the people, but to oppress them.
  6. Sux. But it once again shows: If you want to make a fan remake, never ever, ever, ever, ever contact anyone from the IP owners. In this very moment they are officially aware of what is going on and usually need to do something against it to protect their property (or they think they have to, I dunno) and you will get a C&D. /Edit: it sucks even more, because this looks like a fan project that really could have been going somewhere. These things never had been very common.
  7. I like foxes. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/19/ivan-kislov-foxes-wildlife-photos-chukotka_n_6187822.html Most pretty and super cute.
  8. I remember quite good graphics in ME3 too. ME2 didn't looked bad either. But if I now look at this new DA game and the clunky animations... well...
  9. I dunno. It sounds very ambitious and if it would be that easy to implement, I am sure someone would have done it already (in a multiplayer MMO-like game).
  10. Damn, that made me go and check my profile status-- Member Since 23 Apr 2009. Time passed so fast...
  11. This is way too good to be true. Tensed to see what's going to happen on monday / tuesday.
  12. So my PC -> TV setup is working, and my Xbox 360 controller arrived. Have to say it feels quite good. I might even like it more than the PS3 controller. Tested out some games: Oddworld Stranger's Wrath feels pretty good. Couldn't bear it on PC with keyboard and mouse. It just felt really annoying to play. Also the graphic looks pretty good. It's one of the best looking "console games" I now own. Also I've found out that Alien Isolation is a lot more fun with a controller... But this doesn't surprise me much, as I've seen right in the first minute that it's got a horrible console port (just reading the computer logs felt too annoying to me... So many buttons to press for such a small action). Plays much more smooth with a controller. Now I might get around to play it a little more / maybe even finish it. In any case, now I am ready for Metal Gear Solid 5 and the Resident Evil Remake Remake and I've got the best possible console ready for it... a PC. :>
  13. Yes I get sick pay. Also, like most British people I get >20 days holiday. I don't know why on Earth US firms seem to think they're making crafty savings by denying sick time. As I say, if you deny people sick days then they just come in while sick and fail to perform ...or die, I guess. Neither situation strikes me as optimal man management. And they probably infect the other workers, who then won't perform at their best as well. But hey, paid sick leave is an evil commie thing, so w/e. /Edit: Especially in open-plan offices this can be a huge problem. I was working in one of those once- big rooms with like 30 or what people in it. All the time I've been there, at least one or two people had been sick and in winter time it got much worse. Most of the workers there came to work even when obviously being ill. Sneezing and coughing all the time... getting the next people sick. It was christmas 2012, and in 4 weeks I've been totally down 3 times too... but yeah, guilty here -> I didn't stayed home either. The position there was through timed employment, and they (the client) kicked out everyone who missed for a week or so. This made the people panic, and only a few decided to stay home... and got taken off with the next wave of purgation. A week or two later we had new people. At this time it was the best paid job I had in recent years and I really didn't wanted to lose it. There was lots of talk about a few others and me being taken over as full employees, but then some random silly stuff happened and I was taken off too. Felt really ****ty at this time, but later I realized that it was good. The company didn't gave a fukc about their employees and I certainly wouldn't have been happy there in the future... Long story short, now I am happy about it. Lost a truckton of money through it, but whatever. I am more happy now.
  14. I find this interesting: http://asidcast.com/index.php/2014/11/new-drm-denuvo-might-damaging-ssd/ Apparently the Denuvo DRM is bad for your SSD if you got one. It ain't that good for yer old HDD either, though.
  15. Hm while we are at the Xbox 360 controller again: Is it true that it needs 2 AA batteries? Can't be recharged simply with a usb cable, like the PS3 controller? If so, how long does that thing work with fully loaded batteries?
  16. Not sure what you mean. I have fairly small hands and it's perfectly comfortable and I like the way the general position/gripping works. Hubby has very large hands and he hasn't mentioned any comfort issues. Buttons seems fine. We haven't used it to play a ton of games, however. Mostly Borderlands series. Hubby used it to play Rage, Overlord, and some others. The battery pack isn't an issue for me (small fingers) but like Humanoid I think hubby has occasionally found it a little annoying, but not overly so/very often. I have arthritic thumbs so eventually using the sticks starts to hurt, but if you don't have arthritis, not an issue. I've ordered a wireless Xbox 360 controller now. Should hopefully arrive in two days or so. Dark Souls 1 arrived today, and damn... The controls are horrible. :> DS2 feels so much more smooth to play. So far it's still quite easy and I've leveld up a bit. Guess in the not so sooner future it will start to kick my ass, though.
  17. Wireless Xbox. Hubby/we use it, never had issues. I could be wrong, but seems like it's the most supported re: pc games. eg, occasionally a game officially only supports the Xbox one, where maybe you can get others to work but it takes some tweaking. I prefer not having to tweak, because I'm lazy. The one thing is hubby wishes the pad that controls, say, switching weapons in BL (the big plus-sign like button on the left) had individual buttons to press vs. the connected/sorta sliding action surface, because it tends to wear out if you use it a lot. Did that make sense? Don't know how the PS3 controller works, don't have one. But is it clumsly? On photos that controller looks kind of uncomfortable.
  18. If it's true, then he probably is one of the smartest victims- because you really don't post stuff about your own investigations, like various women did in the past. Everything you say about it makes it easier for the other side to prepare for whatever comes to them.
  19. But not in a filthy part of town, pls.
  20. Quick people, I am 85% done with my "PC to TV" setup and now I must make a decision: Either I am buying a bluetooth dongle and use my PS3 controller with it (which - as far as I've read - might make some troubles, as the PS3 then might get confused with the signals)... ... or I am buying a new controller only for playing on my PC / TV system. I probably prefer this solution, but then the next question comes: What kind of controller should I buy? It has to be wireless in any case. Some custom thingy? A simple XBox or XBone controller? (Never used an XBox controller, so I dunno if it's better or worse than the PS3 version)...
  21. Oh god, how can you watch this. I've seen it in free tv and it was worse than the movies of the year 2000s catastrophy movie time. Not even trying to concentrate on only Misha Collins could save it for me.
  22. This is exactly how I imagined WW2.
  23. Watched Guardians of the Galaxy. Fun movie. Would watch a follow up movie. Also watched the latest RoboCop. Was ok. It's my first RoboCop movie, to be honest. Never watched the originals, because it always sounded way too cheesy for my taste.
  24. That could work. After all, who would bomb an old man in a house? Good thinking!
  25. If it would be for me, I'd say "thanks, but please give the money to a charity of some sorts." Really, I don't think accepting this gift (or giving it in the first place) is a good idea. /Edit: Besides, if it really has nothing to do with politics, as is stated at the bottom of the page, then it is still a bad idea, because he certainly isn't the only one on the team who did the work. He is just the most prominent face. So if it really has to be, then it should be a gift for everyone involved, imo.
