  1. Ive watched some of these "people of aleppo" videos, but i dunno. This kind of stuff seems super easy to fake, so basically nobody can tell how genue they really are. Especially the ones only showing the face and a blank wall behind them. Always reminds me of that one movie where they fake a war in some country with producing fake videos and news.
  2. Huh, I dunno. Maybe it's because I am rather experienced with game dev, but I always right away noticed how little your choices mattered. The e-mails with "hey, thx for doing stuff for me in the last game kthxbye" weren't helping the issue much either. Now that doesn't mean I didn't enjoyed the games-- played all 3 of them once and liked it a lot, despite the flaws. Still, the games never felt big on choice & consequences for me. /Edit: Alright, just saw that about a million people said basically the same now in this thread. :>
  3. I really can't get into Vikings and I don't understand why everyone likes that show so much. A long time ago I started with season 1, but quit it after about half the season, because it felt so dumb. Now a few weeks back I tried it again, because people keep talking good about that show... but again, I really can't get warm with it. Finished season 1, but it was just urgh... And I really don't like that main dude. He feels so unsympathetic to me.
  4. When I played the demo, that aspect was what irked me the most. I would have vastly preferred the game to feature a fixed isometric view. I'm of the completely opposite mind. I very much appreciate being able to freely rotate the camera to get a better look at things. It's not that it is a bad mechanic, but I never liked that in later Commandos games. To me, having a fixed camera limits where you can hide enemies in the level, particularly with tall buildings or cliffs. With a fixed camera you either can't hide enemies on the sides of buildings you can't see or you have to have transparency through the building (otherwise the game would be thoroughly unfair), which gives away where the enemy is. With a free rotating camera you can hide enemies wherever you like and it's up to the player to rotate the camera to find enemies that they wouldn't see from a certain camera angle. I guess I just really like casing the area and formulating a plan, and playing with the camera gives me something more to do while I'm studying guard routes and calculating timings in my head, it makes me feel more in control, more an active participant of the planning stage somehow, if that makes any sense. Well, that's an issue the map designer has to deal with. Of course with a fixed camera you can't have tall buildings with things going on behind them. Usually these kind of games (Commandos 1 + addon, Desperado, etc.) did it well, imo.

But while we're at it, let me quickly do some shameless self-promotion again. :>
  6. Damn, why did they not make Firefly Season 2.
  7. It does run kinda well on pc, if you add the 4gb patch and crash-fix, etc. At least FNV on my machine. :> I rarely see crashs nowadays. Fo3 on the other hand even without a single mod goes down the ****ter after approx 30 minutes of playing.
  8. Yeah it was Chris. What is that "scandal" did Sawyer cause? If I remember correctly gamebyro never performed well with ps3 either with Oblivion or FO3/Vegas. Don't know about Skyrim. He said something along the lines of gamebryo running the worst on a PS3 system. This was reason enough for people to jump the barricades.
  9. Can't say I was too fussed with Tropa de Elite myself (found it too caricaturesque), but Sicario I did love, and it's currently my favorite film of 2015. Its style and tone did remind me a heck of a lot to some of the past "war on terrorism" films like Zero Dark Thirty and Syriana too, which I also loved. Quite dark and disturbing, extremely tense, and Benicio del Toro's incredible in this. There's also a sequel in the works right now. Not sure I'm looking forward to it, but we'll see how it goes. Weird. I thought Sicaro was mediocre. It was kinda like... I don't know, it just went on. And then suddenly it became the story of a dude who wants revenge for his family. At the end of the movie I thought this is one of those that I will never watch for a second time.
  10. And then you get flak by thousands of insulted gamers who thought there should be yellow snow in the game, but there never is!
  11. I could use such a mirror.
  12. There was some conference. https://www.codeeurope.pl/pl/prelegenci/josh-sawyer#/?_k=lfa2f0
  13. Don't worry, even if ISIS is defeated, there will be a new enemy. This war still won't be over in years. I am not even sure if people want this war to be over. Well, except for the civilians living there.

I loved how they ended it with Radiohead's Exit Music.
  15. To be honest, I really can't imagine why they couldn't just add a basic ai to MWO and add some kind of offline- / coop-mode. Throw in some tanks that are more or less static anyway and done. If we look back at the old MW3/MW4 missions, it really wasn't something super special. Go here, kill that, go there, escort something, etc. They really could have done the same with the MWO engine, I am sure. Hell, just sell it as "offline addon mission pack" or whatever, instead of these stupid hero / gold mechs. Would have made people happy and they get some more money out of it.
  16. I started in a desert biome and doing pretty well now. My folks are pretty much only eating berries.. got like 2000+ stored in a big fridge. Biggest issue for me has been a lack of these damn combined parts. My only source of them now is via traders, so I'll have to produce stuff that I hopefully can sell at a caravan to get silver to get the components... Had to amputate a few limps already, one of my peeps has a bionic arm and one raider that I've rescued got a broken spine... It's a 16 years old girl and I just can't get me to get rid of her... damn.
  17. Started some Rimworld yesterday. Boy was that a mistake. I've spend the whole weekend doing nothing else.
  18. This youtube comment is pretty spot on: "So after years of trying the MWO thing, you're finally going to give us what we want?"
  19. Yes, pls someone fix the not working line breaks in BBCode post mode. :>

Right now I am more interested in how the heck he managed to slaughter that whole camp in one night without anyone seem to notice.
  21. There's some youtube videos of people building crazy detailed city scapes. It's awesome, and really makes me wish Transport Fever would look like that graphic-wise.
  22. Isnt there a multiplayer mode? Maybe we should make a convoy through murica.
  23. Heh, I actually did the same in ArmA3 a lot. Took one of the light vehicles or a civilian car and kept driving around Altis. It's most fun if you also use hardware like TrackIR.
  24. Tickets? I thought this is a tv show. Do they show them in cinema now too?

I dunno. The company I am working in exists since the early 1900s and we got a photo of the man who founded it. I guess the tv show is set a tad in the future even and pictures of everything are everywhere. Makes it just very hard for me to believe nobody knows how Arnold looks like or that nobody cares to find out.
