  1. Well, I guess it's simply because the ai doesn't detect dead critters. If you damage one, he "calls out" to his buddies that there is an attack going on. If you kill him in one hit, he can't do that, therefore the other ai doesn't know an enemy is around unless it "heard" the attack happening / player is within a certain range and just acts as usual. I wouldn't interpret some real life theories into it. The games simply don't have good stealth mechanics.
  2. Remember the Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots from a few months back that turned out not to be from RDR2? Here's a first gameplay video:
  3. I never finished Silent Hill 4. Didn't liked it at all. Haven't touched any Silent Hill game ever since either.
  4. The Eldar Panzer General game? Solid choice. The neverending chorus of 40K games seems to be "Space Marines, Space Marines, Spess Muhreens" so that was a rather refreshing change of pace (even if it was more than fifteen years ago). Best representation of the summoning of the Avatar of Khaine: Oh yeah. I've become more tired of WH40k over the years, because everything is always Space Marines. There is so much stuff that could be done, but all we see is just always more of the same...
  5. Do people have short memories? I'm honestly curious because part of what ruins any replays for me is basically remembering every single quest and every single outcome after I've played through before. So instead of any sense of awe, I end up reacting like, "And now he'll say this" or "And now this happens next". So what? I'm replaying the game like twice per year ever since release, and I'm still crazy about it.
  6. Finally watched John Wick 2. The movie felt so short. Wouldn't say it was better than the first, but now they got the option for a third movie... hope they won't milk it too much, because that quick action sequence stuff is beginning to wear off already for me.
  7. I dunno. Don't like some of the landscapes, as well as that robot(?) stuff. Also not a fan of the jetpack.
  8. Do the submarines come with interior that you can walk through?
  9. I never liked these "make everything dark, blurry, bloomy" graphic mods. I don't think it looks good, and you can't see crap anymore ingame.
  10. I played Gothic 1 a truckton of times back in the days. Still think it's the best game of them. Gothic 2 improved a lot in all areas, but from a whole setting / story point of view, G1 just can't be topped for me. Similar to Fo1 and Fo2.
  11. There is always 3 factions. Well, at least there was in the old games.
  12. There are seriously people who don't get the message and think this is a very positive song, by the way. Edit: See post above.

in short Yeah that sums it up quite well. Usually I try to be as effective as (for me) possible to get my work done, and anything else is just a distraction to it. For example, I don't get often drunk not because I don't like it to be drunk, but because I know I won't get any work done the next day. :> All my depressions are directly related to me not getting the crap done that I want to. Now that makes me wonder if I shouldn't take some classes about how to increase effectivity. That's such a german cliche.

I am still completely wasted from yesterday night. Hitting the bed at 0330... I am getting slightly too old for this, I feel. Met a nice girl. Talked the whole evening. And drank. And drank some more. And stuff. She lives in Hamburg, I am not. Ultimate sadness ensured. You know, I've been a kind of social autist half my life (since I moved to another town for the first time and lost all friends), and usually I have a very high aversion rate to even leave the house for a party. Even more so when I'm alone or getting all sorts of depressions. But once I did it, and get back home, I feel very extatic.. up until about a day later when I get back into my old schlog, forget how I've felt the day before, and return to my social autism until something is forcing me out again. A little bit annoying, really.
  15. Heh, so I watched the new Wolfenstein trailer again yesterday and noticed the comment section was full with stuff like "crap game, anti-german propaganda!!11, do not buy!" etc. Was funny, because to me the new Wolfenstein was a pretty solid and fun shooter. Also I guess it helps that I do not identify myself as a nazi, so I'm not feeling insulted by the game.
  16. Wild guess, money made them change their minds. Performance wise, the game shouldn't be much trouble. It's the interface and combat controls that will be tricky... gotta punch pause all the time.
  17. That sure looks like some cinematic 30 fps. Game looks good, but probably plays like any other such game. Singleplayer and with cool story would make it a lot more attractive for me.
  18. Is the ai in the warhammer games still as bad? I really loved rome 2. Played it for hundreds of hours. But when it comes to worldmap ai, it was completely underwhelming... at some point you just always do exactly the same. Boring.
  19. With the new Wolfenstein announcement I decided to give The Old Blood another try. Played through it this weekend and I'd say it is pretty good for a DLC. Only thing that sucked was the pretty huge download size. Probably going to start a new run of the base game next.
  20. That game was pretty good, imo. Played it a few times even despite the flaws. That hotel chasing scene was only frustrating if you had a bad pc, by the way... character speed was tied to the fps you had, so the more fps, the faster you could run, the easier it became to flee.
  21. Never forget the old Ultima Online. It had ****ton of flaws, but the experience was unique.
  22. I thought American Gods is pretty boring so far. It has promising ideas, but every episode is such a drag for the most of it... First season is over soon, but I feel like not much happened at all.
  23. Something tells me you're taking this E3 stuff a bit too serious.
  24. I was skimming over it and apparently "creation club" is NOT "just" paid mods. You have to submit a pitch and they will look at it and it goes through several stages. Sounds like you can make "unofficial DLCs" this way. Kinda outsourcing this stuff to... anyone. If it will work like that in the end or not... no idea. I doubt it will produce a lot quality content. The theory behind it sounds good to me. But now imagine a game like New Vegas and a developer who doesnt give a crap about Fallout lore, producing the most dumbest thing which then suddenly becomes semi official lore.. urg, no thanks. On the other hand, this system would allow - as example - Obsidian to go back to the game and create new content, which likely will see a release and make some money. They could make a DLC sized addon for Fo4 if it would be worth the time and effort, without going through the full usual contract process.
