Movies You've Seen (or would like to see) Recently

Did these big walker thingies always had red evil eyes? -
I don't really get why they had to waste a truckton of money on an online game first, to be able to make the singleplayer game. Pretty sure they just wanted to follow games such as World of Tanks, instead of releasing a singleplayer game that might or might not be played by just a few people before it'll be forgotten again. Now we're finally getting what we wanted all along.

I don't mind spoilers, so... how? I've felt like I didn't really missed anything, but apparently I did. /Edit: Wait, does it have anything to do with this time travel mission, by chance? That one was pretty nice.

Just finished Death of the Outsider. Think I liked it a tad more than Dishonored 2, though kinda sad about the much smaller maps. Then again, this also helped the performance a lot... game was running much better than its predecessor. Though I thought the story was quite confusing at first. It's set after Dishonored 2, but in the beginning Billie still has her arms and eye? Then loses the body parts by the Outsider? If it weren't for that news article at the beginning, I would have thought it's set *before* D2 started, explaining how Billie lost the limbs... Still pretty cool game, though. Wish I'd be a tad longer, as Billie is a cool character to play as.

Stardew Valley?

But what happened to Juni and July?

Death of the Outside is a bit annoying at times. Sometimes guards can see me, even though they really shouldn't. Same apparently applies to bodies I've tried to hide. It's especially annoying when you take a long time to finish a mission just to find out that somewhere someone had been found... or accidentally died. Also I have yet to figure out what to do to craft boncharms. Suddenly the option to sacrifice them appeared, so I guess it might be story-locked. Still, can't do much with it yet and I'm done with the story soon.

Talk to Ian and hire him as a companion. Takes either a couple of caps (you should be able to scrap them together even at the beginning), or if you're a bit skilled in speech, or charismatic, you can convince him to follow you "for the action". Give him a pistol and all is fine. Also you could check out Vault 15 first, but take a rope with you. Radscorpions are dangerous in the beginning, because of the additional poison damage. Well, you might as well just use a pack of dynamite at the entrance. Collapsing the tunnel will solve the quest as well.

30 hours on one weekend? In germany - officially - you aren't allowed to work more than 8 hours a day. This can be stretched to 10 hours a day, but within half a year of time, your average hours per day must not be more than 8. Of course plenty people are violating the law, though, but if the gov. finds out about this, the employer can get fined (or you can sue your employer).

Reminds me of the germans in The man in the high castle. You can totally hear who's a real german and who had to learn a couple sentences. For a native speaker this is quite funny- the words are all correct, but everything is pronounced wrong... So wrong, sometimes I had to read the english subtitles to get what the "germans" were saying in german. :>

I liked it as well, but I probably would have never finished any of these games if not for the coop mode. Playing SR3 and 4 with a friend made it a lot better, because you are able to do stupid stuff every once in a while that you wouldn't do in singleplayer. And yeah, I thought the writing was pretty good most of the times. Most characters are likable idiots and that feels kinda fresh in the otherwise always oh so serious gaming world.
-
There wasn't much writing in it, though, and they even made fun of the lack of cutscenes ("too expensive"). I kinda miss the times of SR3, though. Back then cars still mattered. With SR4 and the super powers, nobody is using them anymore. They might as well not exist at all.
-
If I can't play as my custom douchebag in the next Saints Row game, I won't play it. Gat out of Hell was kinda crap, though, because it's pretty much a collection of all the minigames of SR3 and 4. Also couldn't play as my custom douchebag anymore, not even after finishing the story. Sucks.

Blackjack and hookers?

Price never matters to me, unless we're talking about horse armor, or the game is getting flooded with cheap DLCs like Payday. If it's a game I really love (like, for example FNV), then I just want more content under any circumstances. Thing is just.. this doesn't apply to any game. FNV completely hit the nail on the head for me. It's a one-in-10-years kind of game, where I'd eat anything I can get. The same would not apply to e.g. South Park, just because Obsidian made it. Heck, they could release a new FNV DLC right now for 30€ and I'd buy it without wasting a thought on it. They could release a new DLC for Dungeon Siege 3 and I likely wouldn't even notice it exists. PS: Shouldn't someone merge all these survey threads into one?

Pictures of your Games Episode IX - The Bigger Picture

Is it just me or is the Obsidian forum extremely slow today?

Yeah, but with 10AP you can shot twice with most weapons, if you get specific perks, you can reduce the use cost -1 and then burst fire twice, or do two aimed shots, etc. which makes the game a lot easier in certain situations. /Edit: additionally you can take Action Boy, which gives you another AP. Now I'm not saying this is necessary. In fact, I regularly only play a 7ap character, because I don't do much actual combat... But for a beginner it's the best way to start, imo. That was in Fo3/ FNV. /Edit: Actually, Fo2 has the perk as well ("Gain X") - Fo1 really doesn't, though. The game would be way too short for that anyway, imo.

The doctor at the Brotherhood of Steel can increase your stats for money.

Strength of 5 should be ok for most folks, intelligence to 9 is enough (you can get some implant upgrade to 10 later if you still need it), agility should be set to 10 for the most action points (10). Everything else... do as you please. Also using the gifted trait is a must-- gives you +1 attribute point everywhere, and the reduced skill points are a laughable tradeoff. You should make small guns your tag skill. Other than that, my personal preference is lockpick and speech, though you might as well go with lockpick and stealing / sneak. Small guns is your must-have skill if you are a new player, because it will take a while for you to find a big gun, and energy weapons are late-game. You should pump small guns to about 100% before you put points in anything else. After that... go as you please, really. But keep in mind that gambling, outdoorsman and traps are pretty much useless most of the time. Other than that you should just let him do. The game isn't that long and if he feels like his character is bad or he f'd up, then just restart. At least that's what I did when playing Fo1 for the first time in 5th grade. :> (I was addicted to the game and played it for a full month on and off, though)

Disabling the markers wouldn't solve the problem. Just making it even more tedious. :> I am forcing myself now to ignore the bonecharms, etc. because I don't really need them anymore for my character. In the beginning it is quite annoying, though, as you kinda need to get as much as possible for the powers (runes). Thinking about buying that new game already... didn't even finished Dishonored 2 yet, tho.
-
I have exactly the same feelings about it. I wouldn't care much if not for the heart item and all the dots on the screen, but this way.. I just can't ignore it and it feels like missing out, even though most of that stuff (except for the runes) has no actual influence on me. It didn't bother me in the new Deus Ex games, because here you really have to explore on your own if you like to find all the praxis kits. Also Deus Ex doesn't rub in your face that you only found 1000 of 3000 money. Guess these statistics are a remnant of the Thief gameplay. I find them adding a sense of tediousness to the game.

Is that the same rumor from ages ago or is it based on anything credible now?

Dishonored 2 is a pretty cool game. If it just wouldn't have such a bad performance... it's the first game my pc can't handle to the max, and even with reduced settings (which don't look much worse), it has times where the fps are going down. Also just noticed that this new thing coses 30 bucks because it's a standalone game. Always thought it was a dlc...

My secondary monitor is starting to die. Takes minutes now until the screen is visible. Damn, this thing is so many years old now... but I don't want to buy a new one.
