  1. I'm actually sticking more to Steam nowadays, because the patching and crap is just a lot easier and faster. Also plenty of the games I play have a constantly updating beta branch... only on Steam.
  2. Well, even the player count seemed to be pretty low. :>
  3. Since this patch, Mirke has no hair anymore when wearing her hat. :/ Also noticed / remembered that I have some heavy screen tearing since the patch before this one. No idea what changed, but it's so annoying.
  4. Holy crap, the Xenonauts 2 combat demo looks and feels exactly how a Jagged Alliance 2 remake should be.
  5. Well, looks ain't everything. My problem with Ubisoft games is that I usually find them super boring and grindy. This has nothing to do with graphics.
  6. It was 10% off on GOG during their sale starting 2 weeks ago. It was also bundled with WL2 (and 10% off? not sure as I backed it anyway) on pre-order there. Given that Deadfire is probably more natural as a $40 title than $50 and it was released close to Major Sale Time I wouldn't be too surprised if a higher base price but quick small discount was part of a sales strategy to get it sales listing exposure once the Summer Sales hit. That would be a pretty bad sales strategy, because I'm feeling ripped off in a way. If I had known it'd be cheaper 6 weeks later, I probably would have waited, considering the initial price did feel quite high.
  7. Yeh, but the puzzles are tedious and boring. Stopped playing it after 82 minutes according to steam.
  8. I bought Alpha Protocol for 1,what euro, because I'm too lazy to walk to my dvd. Also last time I tried to play it this way it just didn't worked for whatever reasons. Not sure if there is any other game that interests me... like... at all. Usually I buy stuff when I want to play it, and not when it's on sale. /edit: Deadfire is already 15% off and it was released only last month. So while the gaming press seemed to love it, apparently it bombed hard in sales. What a shame.
  9. Welp, can't grab the new free dlc, because steam summer sale has started, which means... all the servers are dead. Worst timing ever, I guess.
  10. It always pains me a lot to see how little attention game devs give to their dialog tools. Just look at the dialog editor in the GECK of Fallout 3, etc... Seriously, seeing this garbage software makes it clear why Bethesda dialog is so god damn awful. Using this is worse than writing dialog in notepad or heck, excel.
  11. It's ok. Felt too short to me and I didn't liked the end, which is somewhat like a cliff hanger. Gunplay / enemy variety is a bit meh as well. Personally I liked the first and the old blood a lot more. Pretty sure it is longer than The Old Blood. Gunplay hasn't changed and the weapon variety along with the upgrades give the game some replay value. There ain't much variety in enemies though. My only real gripe with game is the season pass which costs a lot and adds only a total of 6 hours of gameplay while using levels and assets from the vanilla game. A total rip-off. Sure it is longer than The Old Blood, which was just an addon and not a fully fledged game. Didn't felt like replaying the game at all, because the level design and enemies and gunplay just turned me off.... You are dying super fast and it's hard to see your hitpoints in the hectic combat, which makes you feel like you're dropping dead out of nowhere.. all the time. It really challenged me hard. It was tedious and annoying.
  12. Huh. I still love JA1 even today, but I wouldn't say it aged better than JA2. I can see them being kinda on par, as JA1's mechanics are still working well today, but generally I'd say JA2 is the title that aged better simply because the graphics and controls are more refined. Oh, I'm pretty sure this is why that one Jagged Alliance kickstarter game bombed so hard.. people expected a new JA2, while the game actually resembles more a JA1 remake (is still not a very good remake, though :> ).
  13. How is Cuba nowadays anyway? Like 10 or so years ago I really wanted to go to Cuba. Everything sounded kinda nice on paper, except for the lack of good internet and access to computer hardware.
  14. OpenTTD is just so good. I still have my old save that I continue a little bit from time to time. Check out my oil processing plant. There's more cool locations, but... it's too many.
  15. The problem is, there is just not enough sympathetic legion content until much later in the game, when it usually is already too late to bother anymore. All the legion stuff you see at first are either atrocities (Vulpes Inculta) or a douche waffle (the prisoner in Camp McCarran). Sabotaging the monorail is interesting, but you still haven't experienced a *real* reason of why you should do this, except "hurr durr". Cass talks about how the legion is not a that bad thing, but it's just one dialog and you can easily miss it, depending on how far you are in the game. If there would be at least one legion quest in the beginning that lets you feel something positive and more or less humane, I bet it would get a lot easier for me and other folks to consider helping them at all. /edit: As an example, the powder ganger prisoners a bit after Nipton. You can either free them with killing the legion soldiers, which automatically moves you closer to anti-legion right from the beginning, or you just ignore them, which sucks. If this quest would be expanded with other solutions, it would not just add more options, but also draw you in a little closer to the legion. I think this is a big missed opportunity.
  16. It's bit funny... today I like C&C Tiberian Sun way more than back in its release days.
  17. I tried to join the legion two times, but I always end up with the NCR anyway.
  18. I think Resident Evil 1 is still holding up quite good. Especially the remake anyway. Never had that much troubles with the controls and I played on PC even.
  19. WHAT. Everyone knows woymen don't do such kind of things.
  20. It's ok. Felt too short to me and I didn't liked the end, which is somewhat like a cliff hanger. Gunplay / enemy variety is a bit meh as well. Personally I liked the first and the old blood a lot more.
  21. I never heard about this XXX and lil pumps and however they all call themselves.
  22. I find it to be quite arrogant (or just stupid?) to claim that games from the 90s had no personal intake of developers experiences in life. But I really don't want to argue with SonicMage117, as there is no point to it. He'll just beat you with yet another hilarious post.
  23. Oh no, is that even allowed where you live? :> Kinda curious, actually.
  24. We all hate Taylor Swift apparently. Nope, SonicMage117 loves Taylor Swift.
