  1. There is GOG thread already, but it bears repetion as far as I’m concerned. GOG should be helped to stand out from being just a secondary distributor years after release.
  2. And they never will if no one will teach them. What better game for that that this here.
  3. While I'm sure people are largely used to suffering it, it's still an issue enough that with every RPG people bring it up. (Me included.) Same with the "please don't make it an FPS"... yet, the games alwasy do, both of these. Go figure.
  4. Is that a nice way of saying "Stop complaining and just swallow"?
  5. I'm pretty sure they can deliver when it comes to reactivity and narrative design. But I'm a tad worried about the gameplay, since the FPS medium they've chosen doesn't really lend itself well for.... "hardcore" systems and mechanics these days (or... it probably would, if there was intent to do it well). Gameplay, RPG systems and how they work are really my only concern with this game.
  6. I would just hope Obs adjusts the view and its functionality to be less rudimentary, and less like a simple commonplace first person shooter-looter.
  7. I like that it looks a bit on the "heavy and sluggish" side (i.e. like with the recoil throwing the gun up) rather than fast and messy, but there just doesn't seem to be any interesting systems or quirks to kinda back that up. I'd really like that they refurbished that bullet-time thing of theirs somehow to be more systemically interesting.
  8. It sounds like a neat system. I just wonder... Will the perks be worthwhile enough that one might consider trading a bundle of downsides for one? How beefy will the character systems be?
  9. The gameplay really is a sore spot for me - no matter what angle I look at it from it looks boring. Can a first person RPG really not be anything but a first person shooter with a bullet time when it comes to combat? Are there really no other means of achieving "fun RPG combat" there?
  10. It seems the skill affecting recoil bumb-up/recovery time thing that Tim spoke of in that conference about RPG flaws might be in place. I wonder how hefty an effect it packs. I mean, can the character actually be bad at combat due to it? (If yes, that's great... at least the skill does something else than just damage modifiers and the combat might have a chance to be a bit more fun in an RPG way....)
  11. Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky. Sawyer isn't doing any work on this (or so I heard).
  12. Can't say I'm a fan of the combat system there. It does seem slowish, which is good and would open up nice tactical and systemic choices and quirks, but I don't know if that's because of the console controller it's played with and to not make it look messy (which it, at times, doess already). The slow-mo thing is just regular and boring. I was kinda hoping a different and more "systemic" take. I can see myself getting bored pretty quickly with what is show if it remains that way. Other than that, it looks pretty nice.
  13. I’d really like some form of alternative to pure FPS combat. If it’s something VATS-like, so be it (just as long as it is NOT a bullet-time slow-mo borefest, and I can’t underline that ”NOT” part enough). Perhaps some mechanical thing that allows player initiated automatic aim in form of s target lock with hit chances based on the characters aptitude. Anything really, but a tired grindy FPS with a possible slow-mo feature to pick you headshots.
  14. Character creation screen and explanation on what and how the skills and stats (if there are any) work, would be nice to have.
  15. I'd also much rather get this from GOG than Steam; if it turns out it's worth getting.
  16. I suppose there's potential, but the trailer wasn't very convincing. Looked like a generic scifi shooter with overdone Hollywood humor. We'll see how things open up.
  17. I'll have to see more to even think about preordering. The trailer looked like a generic shooter with overdone humor.
  18. Cautious optimism rising. All I'm really hoping for, though, is character systems, reactivity and interactivity worth a damn. It's too rare in the mainstream market.
  19. Free console? I'd sell it forward. Good money.
  20. As far as clients go, it would be desireable for every game to be available in one place. GOG would be the best choice, being DRM free, but... it is only an annoyance having to juggle between multiple clients. There’s too many already.
  21. Oh boy. I don't see much good coming out of this. Big publishers tend to shy away from systems heavy - unconventional to this day and age - RPG's. More narrative driven action shooters/slashers abound. Ergo, nothing of interest to anyone who's sick and tired of the stagnated mainstream copy of a copy of a copy offerings.
  22. Fallout (1&2) Planescape: Torment Arcanum Then come the rest.... VtMB, Wizardry 8, M&M 6 and 10, Deus Ex, Morrowind, etc.
