  1. Slow day today, but I have tomorrow off, so yahoo. Also, it turns out a photo of serried ranks of skulls from the killing fields of Cambodia is a good way to end an email thread of weird images at work.
  2. Good luck. If that fails try listening to Carl Sagan speak, always helps konk me out
  3. What are they saying in its defense ? Doesn't seem like you'd get much value out of it to me, after one session wouldn't it be in bad shape ?
  4. And they're handy for rapidly building wonders.
  5. Civ V's talent tree way of doing it was rather disappointing to me. As for terraforming, towards the end in SMAC you could drill boreholes, install giant mirrors to enhance solar collectors nearby, raise elevation (or decrease it), affect rainfall indirectly - that'd have an impact on food production although I never really noticed alot.
  6. Should work easily, I'd say. Who holds the rights to the IP, EA ? Then again, I doubt they need to do a direct sequel - it's colonization of an alien world.
  7. Plodding along in my Civ V game, managed to kill off three more Civs. Did have a fun job assaulting a city with an artillery unit AND a Frigate in it. Pretty much one shot all my ground units attacking, heh.
  8. I miss the good old days when Rainbow Six was their flagship franchise. Same. I miss that and Ghost Recon.
  9. Ender's Game trailer
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BWI6iRSLV0 I think they're still going with the OTT approach.
  11. Helps to be free of the shackles of history I suppose, if I recall Reynolds mentioned something of that in the manual (well written manual too), will check when I find it. The ability to design units, modify your civics was great fun coming from Civ 2.
  12. Well, renegade would work with an Ultramarine - just have them do something outside of the Codex. Avoiding Chaos corruption while going through this hypothetical game is necessary.
  13. Not very renegade of a Space Marine to say 'Let the Orks come', really.
  14. Don't screw up.
  15. I found that crap annoying, along with a lot of the other silly stuff they did - our class' prank was fun in that it caused a danger to safety of students . Indoor snowball fight led to my notebook getting soaked one year. Along with some big Serbian guy's, but he tossed one into a garbage bin and beaned one in the face with a snowball so that was fun at least.
  16. Don't think it is an exam - the pranksters'd find themselves out on their ass from the faculty pretty damn quickly, unless they've taken the Skule/Bnad crap lightly. Probably the OPSAT or something, a fake exam they make frosh do where they give them 3rd and 4th year questions, they do dress it up well so it's easy to fall for until you look at the questions. Heh, I did like that lecture hall, one of the newer ones. Did get too hot in winter.
  17. Played some Civ V, still hate the happiness mechanic as an expansionist. Does make an interesting revenge idea as some civs I've beaten up (well ok, I kill 4 of his units and he offers terms, all of his cities and luxury resources) hit me with unhappiness due to occupation. I guess the correct way is to burn them down, though.
  18. Meh, I wouldn't, but I barely feel motivated to buy most games these days. But not really hypocritical, this forum isn't anti-Bioware (despite the complex of some). Hipsters though ? Hmm..maybe. You're about to find them fairly easy to provoke though
  19. Man, what ignorance. Warhammer ripped off Warcraft.
  20. Well, militaries risk death with their job when they wear it, you people..not so much (actually isn't all that armour posing a problem with head injuries, etc?)
  21. Hockey is manly ? That why you guys wear all that armour ?
  22. Read some old strips of Sinfest, pretty funny now and then. Now Ishida's become a feminist convert or something so the strip's gotten preachier.
  23. I don't think anyone thinks that you can't make a 40K RPG, the setting has enough. Might be boring to be a Marine, but you could be an IG or an Inquisitorial servant or a Rogue Trader (RT is more fun as you're less of a mook ).
  24. Hopefully it's just a load of BS, but one never knows. Might make something similar to the first game but with some more story elements, if it is true. Whatever the core Bioware is, not one of their spinoffs in EA, doing a 40K RPG though would be pretty meh.
