The What Are You Reading thread (now with a simpler name)
Yep, bit of a forced segue to what was already covered in earlier lectures, and you'd think Duncan would have already seen that a couple of times already with the alliusions to the Fish Speakers being horny buggers. I guess Herbert really wanted me to get the point, heh. Started Heretics, good thing he let us know Lucilla has a good rack.

Lagging behind you, finished GEoD today. Was more enjoyable now than in back the 90s when I read it first, but still don't fully get the novel. Nayla having some weird sexual experience watching Idaho climb was pretty funny.

What are you Playing Now? - Back to the Grind
Still not used to Caesar 4's mechanics, at least when designing cities and I keep forgetting it's not always one mine to two factories (well for some it works). Although it is a nice change from Caesar 3 where workplaces need homes nearby, but city sprawls out and seems a little less realistic to me. So blundering my way through the campaign. Military command is more annoying than C3, not sure why they had to add depth to a side feature - also no triumphal arch for sending my legions to aid the Empire : feh!

Ukraine Conflict - continuing
If you're talking about terrorist attacks, not sure military border defense is relevant. Towers got dropped in NYC, that didn't mean the US military wasn't effective. But ok, Russia is ripe to be overrun by ISIS. Well, forced to hold back by others or just their manpower limitation?

Ukraine Conflict - continuing
RVC didn't gain much, even with armour and artillery and whatever else Ukraine helped with, though. And unlikely ISIS is going to be running with that. But I suppose people will be back rooting for oppressed Muslims to rise up and disintegrate Russia or something.

20% by your count should be strong enough. They also have the Rosvgardia.

Caesar 4 consumption isn't as high as Caesar 3 or something, I end up buried in excess wool and clothing just from one farm and two factories with 1 k people. Damn cramped maps too.

Apparently is to excuse mobilization. Although, given Russia has national conscription and they do it in the spring, wonder if that is just the cohort of conscripts. If Ukraine were to get collectively high and decide to facilitate this, I guess the thought might be to just cause pain and distraction for Russia. Definitely is a level of dumb higher than Dugina or vaping a truck driver to damage Kerch, but as I said is a funny thought experiment.

Oddly specific request, but that's how Blue Team does it, and if you're going to do it, that's the best way. Is interesting seeing people bounce around to saying it's just like the 1999 apartment bombings and this is a false flag, to it being really IS-K. Given the US statement think that'd be it. Russian still running with Ukraine. Would be interesting to see how things would play out if it were Ukraine, just as a thought experiment

Still have to conquer Rafah before this will end. US resolution for a ceasefire got vetoed, just now, too

Best ending to a book ever.

Yes, I probably should buy them all a second time and give these ****ty paperbacks away or something. Also reading Agency still - not sure why I am trying to read two books at the same time - this is just like the Bridge trilogy in that the middle books is kind of meh, at least so far. Seems a lot of convenient magic stuff to advance things.

I am a little ahead of you. GEoD is about as dry as I recall. Guess the super tiny font isn't helping
