  1. Seems Reddit is run by my company. Ah well, a new site shall arise if things get too bad.
  2. Pretty sure that's a thing for hookers not necessarily strippers. I would be too worried about her murdering me once in that close.
  3. https://medium.com/war-is-boring/read-for-yourself-the-f-35-s-damning-dogfighting-report-719a4e66f3eb Axe posted the report, for what it is worth. Canada should have just upgraded the CF-18s, but that's a Tory for you.
  4. Good song to get dressed for work to.
  5. Well, consider the audience when you're talking of developers and buggy versions.... And what do you think they do when their buggy stuff sells well ? Not seeing why it's a bad thing to wait a bit to see how a game's release goes, heh. I should have done that with Witcher 3 (about a week or so).
  6. People also overstate their dislike of a game, or at least are often perceived to have an high level than is actually the case. So the game might have been boring or non-fun in sum, but not so much to make it akin to misery. Also the game might have had some good parts. Heh, that was sort of like me in POE, just wanted it over with towards the end (no way I was getting a $1/hr rate for the money I sunk into it, though)
  7. Developer should consider why people wait and see on their games, then, but too bad for them if people are careful with their money. Speaking of XCOM 2 (hrm, pretty sure it's not the second one ), not EU, If the game is broken on release, it can be fixed and Firaxis is usually good about that, but not everyone wants to slog through buggy releases. It being repetitive or 'bad' in some other way, no one can know until they play it or wait for some other person to do it.
  8. Not buying on day one doesn't mean not 'supporting' it, you know. I'd wait for a couple of patches and see how it is, might be broken or just poor or more of the same, after all.
  9. Playing it all, even if you hate it, does add some legitimacy as you theoretically saw all the game had to offer. So it won't be a case of hating the intro chapter but missing out on the awesome second act, or something along those lines. But generally it is good policy to quit a game once you reach that level of distaste.
  10. Last one is something you run into often, though apparently there are no integers in JS, odd. Some of these though, I wonder if the CLI is screwing up somehow. Sure is one weird language to work with, though less annoying than Perl.
  11. I feel bad for that defender, poor lady was sobbing badly after the game (and teammates were pushing cameras away, rightly)
  12. Better returns to take that money and invest it, so that you get returns in the form of a larger sum of money.
  13. Ah, England.
  14. Forum'd be dull without them Surprised it wasn't DA:I vs TW3 vs POE
  15. F-35 is such a hot item, find it hard to not believe any article on it is either a shill or a hack piece, heh. Good business by Lockheed though. PR response to the article yesterday - https://www.f35.com/news/detail/joint-program-office-response-to-war-is-boring-blog Aside, "warfighters" being used in a serious context is amusing.
  16. Really ? I didn't really notice him being much of that, particularly arrogant and egotistical. I suppose it helps you never really meet some 'nice' people in the games. Interesting though. I suppose you might be right about him being an adolescent idea of a badass, but I am not sure what an adult one would be - Man with No Name ?
  17. What do you hate about Geralt ?
  18. Fan service of sorts, wasn't it? Back to reading The Master and Margarita after distractions have abated.
  19. Still annoyed that Malcolm didn't die.
  20. https://medium.com/war-is-boring/test-pilot-admits-the-f-35-can-t-dogfight-cdb9d11a875 The author of this is a bit controversial, it seems, especially on his take on the F-35.
  21. Internet flame wars like this have everyone with "Nemo me impune lacessit" as a motto, hardly a surprise and really, not much is lost. Zealots aren't going to listen to one another. Moosa has tangled with the GG crowd before and his flouncing and everything isn't convincing me much of him being a victim.
  22. Have tomorrow off, planning what to do, hopefully will get my closet sorted and some cleaning done. Pan Am Games is already snarling up the place, not sure why though - they added carpool lanes and that's messed up the roads but the transit service here seems to have dialed back service, school ended but they said they weren't doing the cut back to help the Pan Am traffic. Bah, stupid circus for proles these games.
  23. ...It's not like society doesn't have a complex set of incentives and punishments aimed at enforcing exactly this "fascist liberal notion" (dafuq). Moreover, what I don't get is the notion that somehow the freedom to be not-good is more important than the harm caused by people being not-good. Well freedom always trumps sore feelings, not-good on terms of being jerks is preferable to having one muzzled from saying mean stuff. Mind you this is just people being rude rather than stuff like death threats or violence.
