However even the most far left person still believes in freedom of speech, questioning authority and freedom of thought. Everything the far right, like cheney, is against. So while both far left and right I have issues with the lesser of the two evils IMO is certainly the left folks when it comes to civil liberties and in a fight i'll take their side if forced to choose.

1. We are not a democracy. We are a representative republic. Quite a significant difference. 2. Then in your view the leaks should be moot 3. You are contradicting your own point #2 as if there is nothing new thus no real news this shouldn't be a issue in the big picture. However I do agree a lot more with this point then your former one. I am inclined to agree. In fact if I was a betting man I'd say there may be a hardware or/and driver issue going on if not a corrupt file issue as you stated.

I tried to play DX1 2 upgrades ago with a 6600GT video card. The unreal1 engine either didn't like dx9 or the new features of the card, ass there were a so many FX anomalies (weird looking/distorted textures, pixeliated sky, etc) I stopped playing after 20 mins. I can only image what it will look like on my GTX260 on DX10.. prob make my eyes bleed! lol

So they just stay holed up in the bunker even if I over threw the old leader? Does not seem like them but perhaps they feel isolated and cut off. Speaking of.. when I put the more open minded guy in charge he told me he would resume patrols and id see them. Yet I saw nada in the wastes for the rest of the game. Was it a bug or he didn't mean I would literally see them in game?

However interested in this title. From the little video previews I have seen am I to assume the game play is like gauntlet but on crack more or less? That's the impression I was left with seeing some video of ds 1 and 2.

What I also found odd, and perhaps they didn't account for in the programming/ending dialog, is I sided with the BoS and joined them in my first play though. I took out house, ncr and the legion and most of the gangs. Only real faction I left whole was the BoS I thought at the end be something about them either joining forces with me and my robots or perhaps attacking me due to my robots. But the ending said nothing about them except for their member Vic who was my companion. I opened the door for them to take a new foothold and nothing? Found it odd. So am I to assume no matter what you do with the BoS its moot at the end?

I thought the last patch fixed most everyone major issues. Sad that's not the case. I bought NV right after the last patch was released and didn't have any game stopping bugs nor any constant CTD. one or two but nothing that I couldn't deal with. However I don't have a lot of CC installed either and that may have something to do with it as well. OTOH its basically the same engine as FO3 and in FO3 I had x2 as much CC as I do for NV and the amount of CC didn't seem to effect it. At least any reasonable amount.

I do spend a lot of time studying religion though. It is my job to do so, but it is also something I find fascinating. I take part in a variety of different religious events, from Ramadan to Christmas to Rosh Hashanah to the Chinese New Year. I've even attended a Wiccan handfasting ceremony. And you know what, they all share the same basic concept of community. It is impossible to measure pros and cons of organized religion like some sort of metric system. It is too big. It is like arguing the true nature of humans. Only a religious bleeding heart or/and one blind eye kind of person would say that IMO. History is pretty clear, black and white, of what the church has done. And IMO its ills VASTLY out weigh its benefit. If you do not agree fine, to each their own.

The problem I have with your posts on organized religion is they are way over to one extreme. I usually do take exception to people attacking organized religion as some sort of evil incarnate. I also take exception to the folks who believe organized religion is infallible. Religion is simply a manifestation of human nature. It is as great and terrible as man himself. When you make a claim like "Our world history would be a LOT more peaceful" it is rife with problems. What if a pagan religion had dominated Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire instead of Christianity? Do you really imagine it would have been sunshine and butterflies for everyone? Most pagan religions practiced various forms of sacrifice, and the tribes that practiced paganism weren't known for their peacefulness. What if Buddhism swept across the world? Buddhists have a history of violence as well. It's just not a realistic argument, religion has always existed and, as I said earlier, it can be as great and as terrible as human nature itself. First off you are doing 'What if...' scenarios which we both can fill this thread up with boths sides of the discussion and end up right where we started. Bottom line, we don't know what would have happened to the world if xian never took hold. Good, bad or indifferent is all possible. I personally think more good then bad but certainly I don't really know and neither does anyone else. Second, Your analogy is flawed to what I am saying. An accurate analogy I would say is what if in Europe mass organized religion (xian specifically in this example but any really) didn't take hold. If it was all kept at the local, temple, parish, coven, etc level. Would things like mini-inquisitions and 'holy wars' still take place. Because of human nature probably. However the large scale, global wars/atrocities prob wouldn't have taken place or at least a lot would have been prevented. Hence the logic in my comment. Third, my posts are not extreme at all. When I talk about the facts of a religion that what they are, facts. Just because they are ugly truths some of that faith rather pretend didn't exist does not change the reality of the situation. I think its important to lift the rug up and put some light on the dirt rather then pretend it does not exist as some do. As only then can real discussion and learning take place when we look at the whole truths.. the good, bad and ugly. And yes SOME xian churches do food banks and shelters. Some do good, never said otherwise. However in the big picture IMO that's making up for a shotgun wound with a band-aid. On one side we have the church forcing people to convert using murder/torture and destroying entire cultures and other belief systems, fighting against science and actively trying to keep the population ignorant, waging wars in the name of their god, stealing from other religions then turning around and condemning those religions they stole from, diddling alter boys and covering it up. On the other hand they feed the homeless and offer some other basic social services. Nobel gesture? Yes. IMO far too little considering what they have done. hhmmm call me crazy but I don't think that's a very equal distribution of pros and cons. And that's why I have my issues with large org religions. As they are mainly corrupt and all about power and control. The helping the fellow man has mostly fallen by the way side sadly and been vastly overshadowed by their ills and so yes that's what I mainly see. It's not that hard for you to see my point. For every pro you can list I can retort 4 cons they have done. 1700 yrs is a lot of time they had to screw up over and over and not learn from their mistakes. Last I knew no wars, genocides or mass atrocities were ever committed in the name of Wicca. But if I missed one please do point it out. Wiccan is a modern offshoot of ancient Celts druids and other pagan beliefs, some of which (like the druids) had been involved in ritual sacrifice. So yeah; Wiccan are in the minor leagues when it comes to killing. And...? Waiting for you to tell me something I don't know.. unless you were just validating my point. Then fair enough.

Every time I state something about the xian faith you apparently take offense with some snide remark or/and offer some kind of rationalization as you did above. Just calling it like I see it. Not to spoil anything, but then they would diverge very far from the comic, the kid has a very central role to play in the overall story and moral - but reading this thread it sound like they have anyway? Rick never gets inside the tank in the comic, he just runs away and meets Glenn (the Asian kid) in an alley. The exec producer says they are going to loosely follow the comic threads and use it as a guide but make some changes along the way. He said he feels comfy as long as the plots in the comics are for the most part followed they can make changes to the details to make it more interesting for tv. So yes in the comic he may not have went into the tank but in the show he did. But in the end he ended up in the same place. With glenn in the store. Point made.

Hm, doubt it, but sure. Really? And how many atrocities, ignorance, hate, wars and deaths would have been avoided if spirituality was the main belief and not organized religion? Our world history would be a LOT more peaceful. The core of religious violence is non-religious intolerance given an excuse. Quarrels over land, politics, race, or culture. Much as would exist under non-dogmatic beliefs systems. True to a degree. However the cross or other symbol is always given as the excuse. 'We need to cleanse the earth of the non-believers!' and so on. Now are there sometimes other motivations? Of course. As you said land, power, etc all come into play as well. However just as many examples of religion being a secondary reason can be found in history books as well as the primary. Then you got the religious extremists. Blowing themselves up on a bus full of people, shooting up abortion clinics, etc. All in the name of the xian or related god (according to them). So yes you have a valid point, to a degree. But not all.

Is not about the explanation of what happened is about the aftermath. I get that. However don't you find it odd neither has he asked anyone WTF happened nor anyone who lived though it has talked about it. To me that stands out like a sore thumb a lot more then using the wrong tank in a shot (and this as someone who was in the army). If you just woke up for a month long coma and saw the end of the world and then stumbled upon some other survivors wouldn't the first thing you ask them is what I miss? Look at the tv show jericho. 1/2 the show was them trying to find info of what happened after the disaster. Because info like that is also practical. The more intel you have the better you have at surviving in such a environment.

To anyone who read the comics; Did they ever explain exactly how this happened? bio-weapon got loose, some random mutation, radioactive spider, etc? Love the first 4 eps I just find it odd grimes has not asked ONE person since he woke up 'wtf happened to cause this?' some kind of explanation, even one done to death, would be nice.
