  1. I use impulse myself. I seem much lighter client, don't need it running in the background to play digital games and easier to get approved from my experience.
  2. As was already said that's not true... it was hinted at, fairly strongly toward the end, in the first game and outright said in the second.
  3. Apart from the one (two/ three) which was a linear shooter, and the one which they forgot to include a bunch of assets leading to a forest of pings, and the buggy pointless one set on a spaceship. It was far better than Oblivion's DLC though. Broken Steel, yes, if most/ all DLC was like that it would be worth it. If only it were not essentially selling an ending separate to the game and an admission that the original ending sucked worse than being locked in a room listening to Celine Dion on permanent loop until your brain explodes. I can't speak to the bugs most ppl said they had because I use the PC version (from my understanding the console ver was worse as a whole) and I didn't buy it right when it came out but a few months later so the ver I got had most everything fixed. Or at least playable where the remaining bugs didn't effect me. So for me the whole bug argument is moot as I didn't encounter nearly the amount of the issues I saw being posted about. *shrugs* That said, I found the spaceship zeta (alien) DLC funny, enjoyable and the equipment VERY helpful in the main game. Especially if you do that DLC around lvl 10. As you got the whole other half of the game to use the new weapons. I found it pretty worth while. The description said, to paraphrase, 'fight your way out of being kidnapped by aliens' not sure what ppl were thinking if not for a shooter style DLC. *shrugs* Perhaps that's just me reading whats there and not trying to read something between the lines that does not exist.. *Shrugs* As for the whole DLC is evil, should be included in the game... well that ship has sadly sailed... I don't disagree with you in fact I am on the same wagon as you, but that battle has been fought and lost. DLC is here to stay.
  4. Speaking of DLC.. while writing isn't their strong suit beth knows how to do DLC right and get bang for your buck. Look at the DLC for fallout 3... all of them were WELL thought out, interesting and added many hours of content. And Broken Steel did what the advert said.. put a ending to the storyline and tied up loose ends mostly. Shocking.. giving consumers what the adverts say... something bioware clearly missed out on that class in advertising 101.
  5. umm.. realistically did you think they would say ANYTHING different? 'yea.. EA pays the bills now and we are basically their lap dog.. just saying..' I mean even if true do you think they would admit such?? EA owns them and pays their bills and salary now. PC gaming history teaches us EVERY TIME we hear that in the end it turns out to be false. Perhaps the first few years but in the end the new owners exert more and more control. Lets not be naive
  6. A mother neglected her three children and let her dogs starve to death because she was so obsessed with a computer game. The 33-year-old woman played the Small World game almost non-stop on the internet for months while her children were reduced to eating cold baked beans straight from the tin with their fingers. Her home became filthy, with rubbish strewn over the floor and the bodies of her two dogs, a German shepherd and a lurcher, left for two months in the dining room it was revealed. The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been given a suspended jail sentence and banned from using the internet by a judge in Kent. The horror only came to an end when a neighbour peered through the letterbox and alerted the authorities, Maidstone Crown Court heard. The woman's children, aged nine, ten and 13, were badly neglected for six months, said Deepak Kapur, prosecuting. When officers arrived at the house in Swanley, Kent, in February the woman told them it was 'in a bit of a mess' They then saw rubbish all over the floors in all of the rooms. The woman tried to block officers from entering the dining room and when asked why she replied: 'All right, my dogs are in there. They are dead. I killed them. 'I probably starved them, probably because I have been playing the computer game all the time.' She received an invitation from a friend on Facebook to play Small World and had very quickly become hooked. The game featuring characters such a wizards, dwarves, orcs and giants is played like a traditional board game but online. DWARVES AND ORCS AT WAR Small World is an online board game featuring characters such as wizards, dwarves, orcs and giants. It can be played independently or through the social networking site Facebook and has a legion of fans who compare it to the popular Dungeons and Dragons board game. According to the makers, Days of Wonder, players
  7. whats still wrong with it then? Gray orc light blindness, combat animations, warlock powers (from what I've read). Game killing corrupt module errors... Just a few I could think of off the top.... In other words alleged issues you've just read about but not experienced?
  8. Fair enough, but that's kind of besides the point. My point was the fact that even review sites that -- for whatever reasons each individual site has for doing so -- typically rate games from bigger name companies high despite whatever flaws it may have, actually are taking Witch Hunt to task, which just adds further evidence that Witch Hunt is so fundamentally flawed, in regards to what its advertising/marketing suggested it would be, not to mention the actual value of the content, that it simply cannot be ignored. Generally I don't dispute that. But the reasons for that 98% of the time are attributed to the reasons I said above. That aside I agree it sounds as if bio totally missed the mark. A very poor ending to something that could have been a amazing end to DA1. I think as folks look back at this and bios total lack of execution and outright lies in its promotion of this most all will say 'could of, would of, should of' at the obvious missed opportunities this DLC had. In think we are finally seeing the end result of bioware being a subsidiary of EA.. While bioware in the past blew chances story wise NWN1 OC for example I have to say if they were still independent what they would produce would have been much different with this DLC. Why you would want to go out on a whimper as this DLC does makes no sense unless the powers that be axed your budget, concept or/and time to do more. Or you were told what you wanted to do with it and what you were allowed to do were 2 very different things. If I was a betting man id say the suits in EA have their finger prints all over this.
  9. whoa, i'm afraid, the reality is going to split because of the time paradox Volo just caused LOL
  10. In fairness to many of the larger sites the advertising group and review group are totally independent. There ARE reasons why they seem to cave in but not for what you imply. The reason some of the review ppl seem as if they cave in is 3 fold; a. they are followers not a leader, if they see other sites give a awesome review they feel pressured to do the same if they liked the game or not. aka don't rock the boat syndrome b. they fear if they give a poor review they will loose access to said dev/publisher in the future c. many of these sites (not all) wouldn't know what journalism/how to review a product was if it slapped them upside the head. Simply chalk it up to amateurs doing a professionals job. The impression that some of these sites are being wined and dined non-stop on the devs tab is just a urban legend, and laughable if you knew how strict most of these devs are with their cash flow.
  11. whats still wrong with it then?
  12. But there should be... At this point you're probably right Atari and the legal wrangling having killed it. How many patches did nwn2 get?
  13. Forgive my ignorance... whats falloutnow? Lexx's german Fallout forum. He speaks about how he frequently visits german boards in the interview. He's even registered there though he hasn't logged in in over a year. He probably read it though since then unsigned. oh.. thanks for the info.
  14. Forgive my ignorance... whats falloutnow?
  15. I'm opinionated. *shrugs*
  16. It really seems, in bio tradition starting with the nwn1 OC, their goal/vision was bigger then their ability to execute. I can't imagine during the dev meeting when it came to this DLC they sat around the table and said along the lines of 'yes we'll make the last DLC about morg but it will just be a big tease, we won't really answer anything! (insert evil laugh here)'. I am sure they approached it with the best of intents but somewhere along the line it ended up far from what they prob initially had in vision for it.
  17. Several dev teams as once. Just like any other dev shop with more then 1 game in the pipe line.
  18. I didn't 'troll' you (look up the definition) I spoke what I perceive as fact. Just because you don't agree does not mean it equates to such. Simply means you disagree with my assessment justified IMO by your irrational defense of bio most every time someone does criticize them. Nothing further to add, as normal you need to be 'right' and get the last word in so go ahead, have fun with that.
  19. Well Cryptic is making a new MP only D&D 4th ED Neverwinter based game. From the recent interview sounds like NWN minus the OC. Just MP and some kind of toolset for custom content. All the servers will be hosted by Crypic from how I read the info thus far. Sound as if they are trying to redo the AOL NWN.. interesting but the lack of SP play and 4E rules makes this a no go for me personally. http://www.gamebanshee.com/interviews/99667-neverwinter.html
  20. The reviews/feedback I read was RDR was a buggy mess... not true?
  21. I criticize some of their design decisions or in this case their blatant false adverting. I see you never countered that point.. telling. Also I never said once I hated DA or thought it was complete trash. As usual you have selective reading and recollection of my posts to fit your needs. You always seem to recall my criticism of them but never any of the positive things I say. Either you have a very spotty memory or you are being the troll. Side note, notice not one person has come to your defense refuting my opinion of you. You are a fanboy just accept it. Does not mean that is a bad thing. I freely admit im a obsidian fanboy. *shrugs*
  22. Wasn't the hope that this DLC would answer for us the dangling plot points regarding Morrigan after Origins? I just played through it and I gotta say, I'm no closer to understanding what's going on with her than I was after I finished Origins. In fact, I've got even more questions now. I just paid to play an hour of trying to track her down only to get zero resolution to anything. Not to mention there's no resolution to the book that Ariane is trying to track down That was incredibly disappointing and such a waste of time. I saw some review that said all this was a 2hr tack on advert for DA2 and the kicker was they made you pay for it. I REALLY think bioware not just exaggerated but simply LIED in their marketing about this. From what you folk are saying not only does it not tie up this story at all but just adds more questions. Thats total opposite on how they are portraying this. It really had potential but they just squandered it apparently. Very very sad. No secret I am not bioware fanboy like vol, but I don't think my opinion is too far off the mark.
  23. What do you think of the re-conned qunari? I actually like the new version better then the old.
  24. Exactly.. the ladies like oral... ermm.. 'conversations'!
