If nothing else, you'll be supporting future good games from Obsidian

MT will have a beard!
Wait, is that headline suggesting that CA is Batman? I knew it!

New IGN walkthrough video
It's possible that's it's simply misleading, in which case I can't help but ask why?

New IGN walkthrough video
Maybe, but it really looked like he walked up to the guy and then the weapon magically disappeared once the dialogue started.

New IGN walkthrough video
Oh yeah, going over it a second time, did I just see Thornton walk up to the front door of an embassy and talk his way in with a firearm slung across his back?

Cool. It's hard to get an idea of how the gameplay flows with all the frantic cutting, but it is nice how the factions alter your route through the mission.

- Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
I attempted to negotiate the wall of text and reply to something specific, but it was just too much. Obsidian, I have faith in you.- Games of the future
Does Jagged Alliance 2 v1.13 count? Company of Heroes? That. CoH is the only RTS I've ever been able to *really* get into, and I still play JA2 1.13 because it doesn't really have legitimate competition in turn-based squad tactical games.- Total war series
I would just wait for Empire to be patched up and get that.- Mafia II
I'm really stoked about this. Yes, in many ways the gameplay looks like a period version of GTA4, but what made the original game stand out was the story. Derivative gameplay plus an awesome story is still awesome in my book. Also, they have some sweet-looking CQC.- Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
I would be shocked if they didn't use the same engine. I'd also be shocked if they drastically overhauled the gameplay, but I suppose it's possible.- Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
Well, to say FO3 was complete fail is to say Morrowind, Oblivion, etc. were complete fail as RPGs. I think that's kind of a ridiculous statement since all of the above were very successful. IMO, it's just a different kind of WRPG, not inherently better or worse.- Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
Wohoo! No offense, as FO3 was pretty good, but Beth didn't live up to the writing/choices of the first two. I think Obsidian can. Also, maybe add-in some Alpha-Protocol style CQC animations?- Recommended Reading
Oh yeah, and while this movie isn't about spies, "Training Day" does have some crazy cause & consequence.- The Escapist on Alpha Protocol
Seemed to be hinting at possible sidequests, which is good, as well as missions that aren't just about going in and killing people. I admit that Thornton's VA sounds decent when delivering deadpan Bauer-style lines.- Exotic Weapons?
Hunting, actually. Obviously it isn't ideally suited to combat, but I think that was Mirren's point.- Lets talk about guns
Melee weapons (of which there's only two we know of, one of which is just brass knuckles) are part of the martial arts skill. There was a sniper rifle in one of the trailers, though I don't know if it's a special implementation of some sort or an actual weapon you can carry around and use at will. LMGs might be cool, though I won't lose sleep over their absence.- Viability of not killing opponents?
Somebody has pinched screenshots from the trailer showing tranq rounds, and I think it was mentioned earlier that you have the option of lethal or non-lethal close combat. I don't know if you'd be able to go through the game without firing a weapon, but that'd be kinda cool.- Exotic Weapons?
I think there's just the one bladed weapon (kerambit), though that itself is pretty exotic. I don't know if there will be any vintage firearms.- New Dev Posters?
Apparently, not as much as pink crates have against the rest of the world. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/47527.html- New Dev Posters?
Dunno if they're being made anymore, though it's possible a few would be floating around. Also, it wouldn't be too hard to imagine another company making knockoffs.- New screenshot from Alpha Protocol!
Either way, it's kinda goofy looking. Also, while we're picking apart the GTTV footage, I couldn't help but notice this: I do distinctly see two pistols. False advertising!- New screenshot from Alpha Protocol!
It's the sort of thing that happens in games all the time (AI acts funny when the player is dead because it's kind of irrelevant), but, like with the funky nade in the other trailer, one can't help but wonder why it's in the promo footage.- Will there be crates?
How about both? - Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
