  1. "There's also a fascinating postmortem written by one of our design staff that is being published in a gaming magazine. I'd be happy to get you the exact issue and publication date when I get back into the office tomorrow." I remember there used to be some talk about you guys not being in the position to afford to be "trouble" for publishers. That sounds like "trouble" to me. You can afford it now or is my memory bonkers?
  2. "funny, but how is paying for somebody else's 'goods' all about taking what we want and giving nothing in return? why is your child's education my concern. why is your retirement my concern. why is your inability to work my concern?" Well, it might be just me, but isn't that "taking care for others" business kinda the whole point of society? "hate to tell you but by definition, social security is known as a pyramid scheme. funny how pyramid schemes are illegal for normal citizens to run, yet somehow a necessity for the government." I don't really make the connection. Ellaborate, please?
  3. Why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 'Cause retards are funny. Duh!
  4. "As for the social democracy of the scandinavian countries, I think it's a "nice" ideal, but in some cases I think certain things, like child support (I'm not sure how to say it) is a bit too high. Over 100 USD a month per child in the family?" I suppose that having a child is likely to set your income back by more than that if you're willing to actually participate in its life, and as such, I see it as a fair compensation. Now, you might want to argue that it's the parents' choice to have a child, and it is, but then again, the society needs children. "Also, I've heard people with a really lousy job sometimes actually profit by becoming unemployed." As far as I know, that's only a problem with part-time jobs. Even though the pay is better than you get for being unemployed, once the job is over you'll have to wait some time before you get unemployment money. Which might just tip the scales in favor of not taking the job at all.
  5. Sentinel/Watchman. I just can't live without the skillpoints. Ahh... yeaaaah... skillpoints...
  6. "I'm an older wiser forum member [snip]" Haha. HAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!
  7. Inflation? There is no inflation. Only shiny new money. Shinyyy...
  8. Because they're barbarians.
  9. That 36k Rosbjerg is talking about is in kr, by the way. KR = Worthless, worthless I say!
  10. "*Monarchist. Because it works (and is better than the alternatives)." Wait. Monarchy? As in kings & all? Genetics isn't really a very good system for determining executive power, is it? I mean, even the most beloved and capable leader could have a son so mindbogglingly stupid he could singlehandedly flush the world's greatest nation down the sewer before the populace at large has a chance to notice. I know you said you're not interested in debate, but still... A cookie for the one who finds the source.
  11. As far as I know, LA didn't actually *deny* it, just refused to fund it. Which really is effectively the same thing, but anyways...
  12. "http://tariskal.tripod.com/kotor-save/att-bao-ger.wav - Warning: The voices are very different from the English ones!" Mommy, it hurts!
  13. "What surprised me in this, is that Feargus measured the size of the maps in pixels. I wonder what Gothic 2's world would measure in pixels.." You do know that it's not actually measurable that way?
  14. Wow, that's retarded! I laughed. :"> --- I always name my Revan/Exile Rann Tetra. Always. Don't you just feel the sexy oozing from that name? Oooh, yeaaaah...
  15. "Stuff a 3000 credits down that twi'lek scum's throat (on Telos Citadel Station who couldn't be persuaded to lower his price for that dancing girl)" What? The man was generous enough to pay me 2000 credits for letting the girl go, and you think he ought to be killed for that!
  16. 10/10/15/17/11/10 Sentinel. I love skillpoints.
  17. "LOL! Yeah, I guess any nick more than four syllabus long sounds like a droid designation eh?" Actually, it sounds more like an Assyrian king, but there's none of those in KOTOR, so...
  18. Aishur-Rim-Nisheshu? Arr... Combat Droid.
  19. Well, you could've just tried out the frequencies 'till you got the right one. Takes like two minutes or so.
  20. "Ugh, you cant do it like that. If we assume they are fighting, we have to assume they are on a level playing field. Same BAB/skill/feat progression, same choice of powers same items available. Just cause the devs added things, doesnt mean that there is no way that the chars in part one should even have them. I mean if you wandered around BGII with your crappy little level 9 mage wielding a +1 staff and only a handful of spells, you would die quite horribly. But then your level 30 Sorcerer with epic level spells, Staff of the Magi, and Vecna's Robe pops into BGI, and kicks the crap out of everything without taking a single hit. Is that fair? No!!" No less fair than a fight between me and Mike Tyson.
  21. "Unfortunately, being somewhat specialised in "Anti-Droid warfare", the one place that was actually in the game where he would have been useful, is the one place you have to "solve" without him in order to get him (his yacht)." M4-78.
  22. Peragus would've worked better if the robots were less common, tougher and wouldn't have made so much noise. Probably having less human contact would've worked better, too. edit: Or, rather: Peragus would've worked better if it had been more like System Shock 2. Still better than Taris, which was pretty but boring.
  23. Maybe he triggered a very high level version of the tank bot? edit: Hi Ted. How's Dave?
