I'm finally buying a new rig next week, and I've got 2-3 years of games to catch up. What would you say are the definite games released within the past 3 years? I play pretty much anything, except racing games and hardcore flight sims. I've concluded the following to be must-haves: NWN2 - MotW (I have NWN2) Mass Effect (Any good?) Bioshock (Fallout meets SS2, can't wait) Medieval 2 - Total War (I played Shogun back in the day, has the concept changed?) STALKER (Should I wait for Clear Sky?) The Witcher (I've read good things about this game, is it worth getting?) Oblivion w/ exps (Should be abled to get it cheap, I didn't really like Morrowing at all, has there improvement?) Orange Box (Interested in Portal and TF2, I dig the art style) Psychonauts Lego Star Wars 1&2, Lego Indiana Jones My new rig will be abled to run ANYTHING you throw at it, including Crysis on full details. I'd appreciate any other recommendations, I've got a holiday coming and I intend to spend it sitting inside, the monitor being the only source of light I see for three weeks, girlfriend be damned! Help me ruin social life and move back home to my moms basement!

Well kind of, Romanis are an ethnic group, and gypsies in the UK aren't necessarily Romani at all. At least they don't dress/speak/live like Romani people do. I think Sweden, Finland and Romania are the only countries with Romani communities who keep to the traditions. (My great-grandmother was half Romani )

$10 more, at least here in America(might be different where ever you are). Not really "ludicrously expensive" I don't have even have a job and can afford most games I want. You mean your mom can afford most games you want.

This. I'm probably alone in this, but I think a side mission involving some crazy Nazi occult experiments would be awesome.

There are wolfriders, trolls and Nazguls. I haven't played a game this much since BG2. Too bad it's probably gonna take the team at least 6 months to upgrade it to the latest M&B version.

Mount & Blade 0.890 is out. It's the best game ever made, period.

Don't worry lurchman, despite all this complaining and bickering, Visc & co will all pre-order it/buy it on release. And they'll probably enjoy it, too.

Whew, that's great to hear. I'm not big on upgrading anyway, i'll just buy a new cheap-ass computer in two years that can run new games in medium details. I did it three years ago as well.

Case: EnLight I'm getting this for €290 (haven't won the auction yet) The motherboard only has an AGP slot, so i can't upgrade it much. I can barely afford the 300, so buying a new computer is out. Is this rig going to be useless in six months and am I really stupid for buying it? edit: Do you guys know how well this will run NWN2 or STALKER? They're my main reason for buying tthat POS.

Aside from Torment, some NPC's in BG2 including Irenicus and the Fallouts there hasn't been any memorable CRPG writing. Then again i've never played Bloodlines or Arcanum more than a few hours. It's sad isn't it, that all of my favourite games have been done my more or less the same group of developers

The whole we = good, muslims = bad thing doesn't really work considering how much **** all goverments have done in the past. Can you blame the modern goverments for past atrocities? You don't have to, theres plenty of new ones. What about Mogadishu? The current Iraq war is pretty much the same as the rape of Nanking, only with less casualities. What about the **** the French Foreign Legion has done? What about Pinochet? By what right are we telling the muslims how to live and how to rule their people? By what right are the americans arming the Saudis? If you can't stop meddling in other peoples affairs, don't be surprised if people hurt by the meddling get mad at you. This stuff has been happening throughout history. For this whole war on terror to be succesful, the yanks and their allies should stop using terrorist tactics themselves first.
