UFO: Afterlight
The new features such as terroforming Mars (which has always been one of my fav scifi concepts), role-playing elements and the auto-pause options in combat sure sound appealing though. Sounds almost like a mix between JA and Baldur's Gate.

UFO: Afterlight
Well the whole idea is to "rip off" Xcom as it is a spiritual sequel. Jeez, you're almost as bad as hades.

UFO: Afterlight
UFO: Afterlight is the latest in a series of spiritual sequels to XCOM made by the Eastern-European developer Altar. The predecessors have been a bit buggy, yet quality games. Here's the plot in short: In pre-release interviews and hype, the developers said that the game would feature: * A new setting based on a Mars colony that was built shortly before the events of the previous game, UFO: Aftershock * Distinctive weapons, as opposed to several weapons having the same statistics but just a different look * Role-playing elements in a more crucial role through "strong distinctive individual characters". * Simplified micro-management of resources * A more complex technology tree * Improved user interface based on customer feedback The Eurogamer review is pretty positive, and I def will get this game as soon as I can. S.t.a.l.k.e.r.: Shadow of Chernobyl (impressions video inside)
My pc is a year old and the game is almost glass smooth with all the default visual settings at 1024*768. A realief aftre the huge lagginess of Oblviion. No AA on though. I haven't even tried increasing any of the settings since I think it looks fine, although the jaggies are there when you lean. There is a very occasional hitch here and there when something appears to be loading, but its incredibly brief. my pc basic stats: 2gigs ram, Pentium 4 3.6, 3950 GTX You've got 4 times more ram than i do, and your graphics card is better (i think, i've got a radeon 9800 pro) I really really hope the game will run on med to low settings, after all HL2 and Farcry both run silky smooht on medium.

S.t.a.l.k.e.r.: Shadow of Chernobyl (impressions video inside)
I read from another forum that the game is pretty much unplayable without at least a gig of ram. Anyone tried it with less?

YAY! NWN2 1.05 BETA PATCH IS HERE!
So are there any PWs worth playing yet? Preferably set in a DnD world, be it Greyhawk or Faer

What properties would you like to see games made from?
I've wanted a Sword & Space game since i was a kid (Burrough's Mars series would be a really fun setting). Other than that, a setting inspired by paintings by Beksinski would be awesome. Think Kings The Black Tower meets Cthulhu meets Moor****. That would be my dream setting. edti: obviously Moorc0ck is a dirty word. Poor Michael

What are you playing now?
BG1 + 2 + ToB, no reloads. Working my way slowly through BG1 at the moment. NWN2, now with multiselection! It feels a bit clunky, which i'm sure will get fixed in the actual patch. Also EU3, FM07 and a bunch of free arcade games. I need to replay Cave Story soon.

Nasum - I Hate People "Helvete" (2003)- Who here ever worn NVG's?
They're illegal in various big cities in the states.- Memory problems...
After some research i found that my motherboard supports uses DDR400 memory, which is pretty cheap. Now i have to decide wether to buy a 512 stick or a 1gb stick. I've got two 256 sticks at the moment, and only one slot free. What do you suggest? Will i see any difference in performance if i buy the 1gb stick?- Memory problems...
Whats the difference between DDR and DDR2 ram? Where can i see what frequency i'm using, or does it matter at all? I'm planning on buying more ram, but i'm uncertain what i should buy.- A project plan for building a persistent world

well you did totally steal the joke and claimed it your own. you should have at least said that you stole the whole thing from someone else.- Yup, Amerikan Army Treats Their Soldiers With Kid Gloves When Committing Crimes During War
no, i did. you said if it was a black drug user, and i merely pointed out that a drug user probably would have a criminal history, black or white. most pedophiles aren't very heavy drug users, either, nor are serial killers. agreed they should go away. however, you were attempting to pose a racial bias statement that doesn't hold up very well, which is what prompted my reply. taks compare the numbers of black vs. white people in american prisons. i think its pretty obvious that race has a huge difference.- FFVII for $39
