Yesterday I finally bought the DVD and didn't regret one single cent I had to pay for it. IT WAS ENORMOUS! I thought the movie was, as opposed to what others said, more comprehensive than GITS1, actually. The story was somewhat thin, but not bad. Most of the power and "awhhh and ohhhhhs" came from the powerfull visual expression anymay, and that's the point of an anime after all. All GITS haters go home and watch teh Muppets!

What's actually the point of an upgradeable console? I already thought the HD/without HD decision was stupid, but now putting in a new processor isn't exactly the purpose a console was meant to. Will developers have to offer different versions of their X360 games?

Wait. That's all I'm asking for. ALREADY BOUGHT! On a serious note, I waded through tons of reviews, and most of them seem to be very positive (the R2 release at least. Seems like they screwed the dubbing in the R1 release, but that's not my problem. Haha). GITS1 had already some philosophic touches (well at least the director kinda tried), so that shouldn't get too much into the way if the visuals and coolness factor is strikingly good again.

I'm not watching Anime regularly, nor am I a fanboy of that genre, although GITS and a few Ghibli movies were great. Now I just realised there's a GITS2 with tons of divided opinions....so the question is: Another Classic, or just a major let-down?

It's DnD, hence there's not really much free space for own gameplay experiments. I have no doubt Obsidian will create a great plot/characters, but a PnP ruleset turned into a CRPG can too often create obstacles that tone down the fun. I remember whan Bio tried something similar with HotU - large-scale battle --> SuXX0rs I say.

Large-scale fights usually suck, especially in RT. They tend to get too clunky and messy. I prefer a hard, tactical fight with fewer opponents, especially in an RPG. Looking at the official Gameplay trailer, I wasn't too excited about the combat either. I hope this doesn't turn out as another clickfest a'la Kotor.

I thought SC was released sometime in May 1998, which makes it now over 8 years old! WOWSERS!

Just give me a real Deus Ex 2 with Source Engine or UE3 with life-like characters, tons of great gameplay and a terrific story that will blow my socks off. PC exclusive, of course. And yeah, that's quite a feat to master for today where we only get console shyte and other dumbed down mass games.

Bioshock Dragon Age NWN2 Jade Empire PC Dark Messiah Gothic3, Witcher, Broken Sword4 and Assassins Creed are maybe's. And anything unannounced that will fit my taste.

JT was just hired by Take2 to make lots of buzz and whirl. More hype around Bully, more money for Take 2!

I'll buy the standard DVD edition, since I don't need that fancy stuff. No need for toy figures either since I'm a grown-up.

I hope that too. Most importantly, it's PC exclusive, which means (hopefully) better controls. The point-and-click is back, so no fear there I presume. I remember when my veins always swelled because I got so angry due to the silly Keyboard controls from BS3. :'(

I sincerely doubt EA will be able to deliver another Classic. Maybe a solid FPS, bot nothing more. --> No thanks. Bioshock please thx.

Finally got my hands on the demo. Runs nicely, very moody sound ambience and light usage, terrific animations....but somewhat short. I still can't decide whether I should buy the game or not, and I thought demos are supposed to convince the customer...anyway. The combat needs tweaking. Actually, if you keep kicking the orcs into the balls you're more efficient than using the sword. Hmm... " Btw, you can have access to the cyclop level if you use this savegame: Clicky

Apart from the Soundtrack CD, the other fancy stuff is useless. I rather want to see a 2-hour Making Of than some FR handkerchief to clean your nose.

I just played through Syberia 1+2 in just two days! Thanks god I didn't have to pay full price. The end was kind of an anti-climax (what happened with Kate?), but else I thought it offered a very charming atmosphere.

Go play Condemned: Criminal Origins. You can beat scum with Sledge Hammers, shovels, fire axes, gas pipes, pretty much everything you can grab around you. Very satisfying, but very violent too.

Some demo reviews yet? How's the gameplay like? Kinda Thief, or just Half life 2 with swords and spells?

And that's a good thing, since all previous M&M games sucked.

Gothic 2 is now a game for dinosaurs, it was released in 2002 here. While it was good back in the good ol' days, I doubt I'd now have the time or patience to embark another journey in the (even bigger) world of Gothic 3.
