  1. Wow... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I knew you would be stunned about my view
  2. You think I just could describe a setting with a few sentences? Forget it. I'm just trying to say that Sci-Fi is a genre of experiments, and why, for example, don't use devs modern day or near-future issues (environment-catastrophes, more and more demolation of welfare state, capitalism, conspiracies, thoughts about advantages/disadvantages of growing megacities etc etc) as some direction? Why has it always to be in space with aliens? Deus Ex has shown that it hasn't always to be aliens in space. And green chicks.
  3. You know what a Condom is? You know what an Armour is? Now use your imagination Hades!
  4. There are two questions there. Star Wars is about immature mythology (or in ME: "...the machines are coming!!!") and putting teddy bears or blue-skinned clowns into the universe and think that would make sense. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You even quoted them, and answered one of them. I am still looking for the answer to the first question in the series of two questions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Setting and story should go hand in hand. The Star Wars Universe is all about shoe-horning some strange looking, often English-speaking aliens into the Universe just to replace some stereotypes we even see on this earth. Or short: The Star Wars universe is a mess. ME seems to go a similar path: Space hamsters, reptilian warriors put into condom-armour and woman with integrated bike-helmets make as much sense as the Star Wars universe --> Nada. I expected a more finely crafted setting and characters. But hey, since this whole industry is still very immature, I can't expect that much at once, huh?
  5. Why should I back up my opinion? I know where my taste lies, so I don't need to defend it. And again, you haven't asked any kind of question yet. What is it you want to hear from uncle Morgoth?
  6. I haven't said that. You better read first what I say.... Babylon 5, while not completely lame, is still lame compared to Space: Above & Beyond! Yeah, that was an awesome Sci-Fi series.
  7. I see there're alot of Star Wars kids here trying to force me to take back my statement here, but I won't. ME is from what I've seen so far clearly Babylon5/Star Wars inspired, and that's somewhat lame. Not bad, but I expected more.
  8. Star Wars is about immature mythology (or in ME: "...the machines are coming!!!") and putting teddy bears or blue-skinned clowns into the universe and think that would make sense.
  9. If they put the red-haired chick into it, perhaps, but that silly barkeeper reminded me too much of Star Wars. Sorry Bio, more originality next time, please.
  10. It's style is clearly Star Wars. I thought Bio with it's huge reputation and ressources would come up with something more original, and mature.
  11. The video is quite impressive, particularly the digital actors and the technology, although I'm a bit disappointed about the fact Bio doesn't take advantage of fleshing out their own IP, instead they just make another Star Wars clone. One "Meh" for Bioware.
  12. Untruth. It's the big guns I tell ya that makes or breaks a console game.
  13. Hey, Diablo (2) was a cool game. Although I'm myself not a big fan of sensefree action, the Diablo series had perfect pace, balance and a well used setting, so it actually worked. I love it for what it is, all other following clones a'la TQ etc. are stinkers.
  14. Currently nothing, although I await my arrival of Condemned: Criminal Origins.
  15. Cause blowing up ph4t monsters with gigantic guns is teh MAN POWAH!!!111 It's the only way to make video games for real MEN!!!
  16. The New World - an astonishingly beautiful movie.
  17. I'd say Action-RPG. Was there after BG2 ever a "pure" RPG released btw? PS: Ewww...Darque a mod. I mean....RE4 ftw!!!
  18. Engine engine engine..... what's wrong with you graphics whores? Oblivion with it's fat faces and girlish LotR style doesn't stand a chance against the rich and artfully crafted world of Gothic. I'm just replaying Gothic1 now and no single moment I feel it's obsolute technology gets into my way. Oh, and the Orcs look awesome, kinda frigthening, not goofy and silly a'la DnD.
  19. Randy Smith, an ancient Thief design legend as well all know and love him (you don't? WTF???), has participated on two interesting interviews! Part 1 and (more interestingly) Part 2. C'mon kids, read the interviews and learn how games of teh future should be designed. It's Randy dammit!
  20. I agree with you Hades, this is really not natural.
  21. Awesome! We got the first leaked info of PG before PNJ. PG will feature human-like (or even humans) creatures. Awesome.
  22. I'd actually love to see Todd Howard and Co. getting company by those nice gentlemen from Jowood. "Hi, I'm Todd, and Oblivion is the coolest..." "SHUT the Fuack up female and get me some more drink! HHAHARAR" Hehe, sorry but I couldn't resist.... :">
  23. If you're like an angry **** that likes to analyze the game in chunks of modules the whole time (story, mechanics, dialogs, robots, robots errrror), you won't get much out of it. Gothic is for enjoyers only that can overlook some weaknesses and can actually delve their mind into it's fruity meat.
  24. Oh, you mean S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ? " My old braincells recall that this is the game where you just could take a breakfast in front of a nicely nuclear reactor while getting eaten by a nasty mutant fart-cloud. Man, I want that game too!
