  1. Ah, I forgot I haven't even played Dark Crusade yet. 4,99
  2. How is DoW: Soulstorm singleplayer? I'm itchy on clicking on that buy botton.
  3. No, Carth was a weep. But hey, different tastes and all that...
  4. I agree. Alyx is a great developed and charming character. Don't listen to Llyr, he's just angry.
  5. The sheer amount of content and massive amount of text certainly helped to make PS:T the memorable gem we all know. There was just more space for explaining history and interacting with characters. These days though you're lucky if you get 3 smaller maps for sidequesting. And full VO also dictates the amount of overall writing and quests, so it's understandable that there aren't so many indepth and philosophical discussions with NPCs anymore.
  6. I'd go for the memory. Desktops are still vastly superior for gaming though. Edit: Oh and wrong thread btw.
  7. I hope Aliens does run fine with a 8800GT on a 22" screen. If the 360 can handle Aliens, a Core2Quad with 8800GT should handle it as well....hopefully.
  8. If Wind Waker wouldn't look so sucky I'd maybe give it a chance. Twilight Princess looks better, but it has "Princess" in the title so I refuse to play that out of pure principle.
  9. God thanks I wasn't even born during those ages.
  10. ... It's not exactly 2D... Regardless, the art direction is consistant, but it's a horrible look that I personally cannot abide, I also think WoW look dreadful... So *shruggs* it's mostly a matter of opinion. WoW looks cartoony because thats the only way they could get it to keep running on systems that were not "tricked out" games. It's probably what keeps people playing because even with new expansions they don't really have to upgrade to keep going. That's also what Bio does with SWTOR: Making the style somewhat cartoony. It's a great way to prevent fast aging, but not everyone likes it, obviously.
  11. I don't know about you guys, but I'd say the future of RPGs looks pretty bright. Dragon Age, Alpha Protocol, Aliens RPG and (possibly) ME2 alone in 2009 looks pretty tight. And besides, it's quality, not quantity that should count. As long as there's Bioware and Obsidian around, I'm not worried about the future of RPGs at all.
  12. Certainly not in the next 1-2 weeks, as Sega/Obs are now enjoying their holidays.
  13. SoZ was a disappointment. But that doesn't mean I'm angry, like Llyr or DR.
  14. GTA 4 is an great achievement in games history. The technology, the humour, the characters.... It all comes together so well. It's one of the best games I've played for a very long time.
  15. I'm fine with D3's choice of art direction. I was a bit surprised at first, but now I'm kinda start to like it very much. More importantly, Blizzard never failed me to deliver a fun and addicting experience. Plus Leon Boyarsky is also involved in D3, so it gets even more props from me.
  16. Art direction for D2 is awesome, especially Act 4. Back then in 2000, it had one of the nicest bitmap graphics, despite it's low resolution.
  17. I enjoyed Diablo2 eight years ago with friends. It also had a lot of atmosphere. But I can't get into these newer (Sacred 2, TQ etc) Hack&Slashers anymore. I'll make probably an exception for Diablo3, because I'm such a Blizzard fanboy.
  18. Sounds like this is more work and less game. No thanks.
  19. I got a pair of shoes, two bottles wine, and monies.
  20. I played the Too Human demo today and didn't notice any texture pop-up effects. Not even slightly. But UE3 is mainly an engine developed for consoles in mind, or as J.E. would put it "an engine that's made for taking cover and shooting people into the face". Maybe that's why it feels a bit clunky on the PC. I still think UE2.5 was back then one of the greatest PC engines. Cryengine 2 is the winner today though. Besides UE3 is still popular for it's 24h support and awesome toolset framework (code and art pipeline). But I can understand that there're developers out there who want to make their own thing, something better, less mainstream maybe. I'm curious what Onyx is capable of.
  21. I noticed three red lights yesterday. Ouch. I'm lucky as I got a newer 360 (made on 10-14-2008), so those should be less prone to the infamous ROD. Alot of people also make the mistake that they put the 360 vertically, so that the fan can't suck in fresh air from the side. Anyway, Resi5 is kinda boring and not scary at all.
  22. I got by 360 today and I barely saw a difference. Still, I'll stick with the HDMI cable, it's subjectively slightly better, as expected. I played a bit the Resident Evil 5 demo and the first thing I noticed is that the image quality is a bit more vibrant and crisper than on the PS3.
  23. We will see. OT: When using my 22" TFT monitor, should I use a VGA HD cable, or a HDMI-DVI cable? It seems with a VGA cable I'm able to use higher (PC) resolutions as well. Doesn't that cost performance for the 360?
  24. Great game, though I found it works better in small doses. It's just odd that Munch's is on the compatibility list, and Stranger's Wrath isn't. Really Odd.
  25. Still playing Eternal Darkness. This is a really cool game, and I hope there will be a sequel someday. I also ordered a Xbox 360 at Amazon, since the price was reduced again and I am weak and all. I think I'm gonna sell my PS3 now that with the exception of one intreresting exclusive title (Heavy Rain), it's only collecting dust. I guess I can live with that one exception. Gears of War 2 and Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee are next.
