  1. Yes, just like the Soviet Union crumbled on its own. But I guess you people wouldn't mind 70+ years of nazi rule. That's the difference between the Commies and the Nazis. The Soviets had an entire nation standing behind them, so it only could crumble through an outside force. Even today, Russians are mourning Stalins dead as one of the greates Russian figures. Nazi Germany otoh....people became aware of the atrocities, the NSDAP became more and more unpopular by the end of the war. You can't continue with your regime that long when you don't have your own people backing it up.
  2. You think Hitler could have hold together his Third Reich that much longer? Even if he was military successful, sooner or later he and his Nazi goons would have crumbled due to internal resistance. People became aware of the true face of the Nazis by the end of the war, so his "Deutscher Lebensraum" dream would have remained only that, a dream, and reason and order would eventually have come back* *includes massive loss of civilian and resitance lifes. Edit: The point is, believing that the entire world would speak German now in case of an Allied failure is just ridiculous.
  3. Slaughther a bunch of goblins, slaughter a bunch of police men doesn't really make any difference to me. It gets old very fast. So unless the WOD MMO goes into a different direction, my anticipation remains muted.
  4. I heard Blizzard is working on a new MMO project which will be completely different from WoW. I'm more hawt on that than the current WOD MMO, which is still years off, if it will be released at all.
  5. 20 €. But bucks sounds cooler. Yeah that is almost twice as much! How about Eurobucks? Teuro, €rror, whatever. My sweet new 360 needs fodder, and I always wanted to know what this whole hype around Halo is all about.
  6. 20
  7. Lol, so it's an average shooter then. All I know about HALO is the Halo1 demo for PC. Since it's only 20 bucks now, I'll give Halo3 a chance.
  8. Nah, I'm only interested in the singleplayer part of the game.
  9. I'm probably waiting til the price drops anyway. I think I'm gonna pick up Halo 3 instead. Is that at least enjoyable?
  10. Maybe someone can describe it to me, I have never played Fable 1 (and don't intend to do so). The reviews seem to be mostly postive, while player reviews vary from "it lacks depth" to "meh" to "it's totally awsum!" I'm not a big fan of Molyneux since the Black & White debacle, but I'm willing to give that one a chance. From the reviews, it doesn't seem to have complex character interactions (emoticons?), neither does it have a great story, yet it seems to have a ton of fans thanks to an atmosphereic gameworld and some humorous takes on characters, so maybe there's something to it. Are the characters likeable, or is everyone a silly circus clown? I also read the combat system is quite fun, despite being too easy. I don't know, something still tells me it's a reeking pile of shyt, but perhaps I'm wrong. Edit: Oh damn, I just posted that into the wrong forum. Mods please move it into Computer & Console, thanks.
  11. There's something that tells me that I want it to be BG3, and then there's something that tells me it should be a new IP. One thing's for certain however: Don't let it be NWN3! After the horrible SoZ experience, I'm marked forever.
  12. Playing a female agent could be amusing, but no, they're not made for that. Unless Obs goes for total NOLF goofyness, which wouldn't make for a good RPG. Jorian Butt huh? I think Jorian the Hungarian wouldn't really like that don't you think?
  13. It's a heroic fantasy RPG after all, so of course you'll have to join some sort of elite group, the Grey Wardens. Wouldn't really make sense to play some random dude who just cares about his only banal interests.
  14. I heard Summoner 2 was released for the GC. Is it any good?
  15. I don't get the "I'm tired of fantasy" whining. It's the quality of the content and story after all, regardless of the setting, that matters. And creating it's own fantasy setting from scratch (and non DnD furthermore) is just as risky as making something like Aliens or AP. Give Bio more props, because we don't have many other devs around that are committed making quality RPGs.
  16. Intel should stop wasting time making IGP and better provide a lobby for PC gamers. More game-compatible PCs around, more PC games are selling.
  17. By the time the first games that are taking full advantage of a GTX 280, Bok will already have upgraded twice again. But then again, there're hardly any PC games out there that demanding anyway. Crysis was the last one that really needed something beefy. But with all these UE3 ports these days, you don't need more than a 8800GT to run it properly. Rage might be the next Crysis for hardware freaks again.
  18. No. As opposed to the Duke, there's an actual website with a fairly new video and screenshots. That's something.
  19. 2009 will be a great year, both for RPG and non-RPG fans, that's for sure. FEAR2 DoW2 Dragon Age Alpha Protocol Aliens RPG Aliens CM Mass Effect 2 Bioshock 2 Starcraft 2 Planet 51 (?) Alan Wake Heck, and perhaps more. A very good year indeed.
  20. Playing Abe's Exoddus. It's hilariously fun.
  21. GTA4, MGS4, Fallout3 and ME (PC) where my favorites of 2008. Still have to wait for my Gears of War 2 copy to arrive.. At least I expect it to be manly.
  22. Saint's Row 2 looks stupid. Why playing that when GTA4 is so much better?
  23. Aren't those developers the same as of EVE Online? I heard they might get forced out of Iceland due to the hard hit of the recession.
  24. Company of Heroes was good indeed, but I never managed to finish it for some reason. Played DoW and Winter Assault and loved it. Now is the time to finally get Dark Crusade.
