This game has some serious sound issues. It often fades out, then I hear nothing, the marching steps are delayed...oh well. Why are they using this totally crappy RAD audio engine anyway? It's totally obsolete. I better wait for a patch or two before I start the grand campaign. I also miss Van Dycks superior music tracks.
Sony has more important things to attend to, like Home, instead of creating PS2 BC and offering PS2 games for download. Can't concentrate on stuff people actually want to have, can't we, Sony?
Jason Anderson is also working on it. But frankly, I don't think this will be a successful MMO, as you need so many people and ressources to create one these days that I think Interplay will run out of money before it's even hitting Alpha.
Does anyone else have the problem that the sound level is too low? Marching steps, gunfire, voice are all too quiet. I can barely hear these unless I zoom very close in. I remeber I didn't have that issue with Rome.
I heard Empire doesn't even support multi-cores. That's probably why it runs like crap even on the latest Core i7.
Wake up CA, this is 2009! Multi-core support should be common now.
Steampunk involves magical Elfes in robes that hug trees and dwarfes wearing silly mechanical gear that shoot with steam-powered muskets. And other nonsense like that. Seriously, I don't need that in my RPG.
I don't like Steampunk because technology and magic feel so forced together. This just provides antagonism for the sake of it.
I rather prefer settings that provide drama and the backbone in support for the players development, rather than some pointless tech vs. magick silliness.
Yes, the PS3 controlle does work on the PC with some special driver. But why the hell would you want to play NWN with a gamepad? That's like eating soup with sticks!
The official site still says "March 2009" for release date. Maybe you should give someone at Sega a phone call about that. Except of course they don't bother updating it until the new site's up anyway.
