Now that's quite presumptuous of you. Unless you have any idea which part of world I live in and what console piracy looks here I'd avoid any such statements. There are always consequences and they will reach end-user through the people doing the cracking. Having to deal with total online-bans, loss of warranty, console bricking, software updates and media changes simply dose not come free. Actualy every single person who I know, who plays online and is pirating, owns cracked and uncracked console Cracked firmware updates are offered as cheap subscription... Anyway, any person who has cracked console and goes online with it, deserves to get Darwin's Award and as soon as possible... And as I said, if there is profi cracker who offers you RMA possibilities, stuff like bricking the console does not concern you in a slighest... Lot of these guys does understand the console in such a degree, that you do not need to get your console to the Sony or Microsoft service... They just repair them... You only need to pay bigger price for modding the console... It's the same service like some companies offer... The more you pay, the longer your warranty is... EDIT: Just to make it clear... There is no modders who offer warranty on their services in my country, so in that case some of the stuff you are talking about is higly valid.

We discussed this before - console piracy is not on the same scale as PC piracy. And that's largely because it's far more complicated and carries greater consequences. Actualy, that's not the case, it just shows, how much you do not know about the rest of the world, which is less "civilised" There are lot of profesional console hackers, who even give you warranty and RMA possibilities on thier works in these countries... So for the end-users, there is no consequences for modding the consoles... OFC hackers like this, do not operate in most of the "civilised" world due to the stronger copyright laws, and even if it is legal in some more tech savy countries, there is much lower demand for the service, because the piracy is at much much lower rate there.

that's easy to explain. the majority of "pirates" are schoolkids that don't have the means to pay for a game online. they buy games in stores from time to time but the realization that they can get any game for free, for 12-16 year-old kids... anyway, the point about pirating demos is also correct. it's habitual. they tend to check their favorite torrent trackers for all gaming news. so as soon as something pops up, they only need to press the DL button This is a biggie, more importantly the part of them having no means to pay for a game online. I suppose the sellers could start promoting kids to start stealing their parents Credit Cards and using that, but I think that would create more problems then are already in existence. Honestly I'm quite surprised that this is still a problem. I know a lot of local services that can be used without any real age-checks by cell phone transactions. Then again maybe expecting the youth to sacrifice so many SMSes is unreasonable. And that is a part of the problem... The services are local, not worldwide... There are tons of countries where you do not have access to modern stuff like that... Piracy in US or EU is a shame, we have ****loads of possibilities how to buy affordable entertainment, but as sorophx said, there are countries where the average people earn little money and are contributing to piracy by more than 75% and they do not even know, that something like IP even exists...

Still playing Star Ocean - Last Hope International. Having fun with Coloseum, first bonus dungeon, where I get owned all the time and doing some ridiculous Battle Trophies... Currently 144 hours played on Galaxy difficulty and before 44 hours on easier Earth for my first no spoiler run. Progress: Edge 69/100, Reimi 59/100, Faize 52/100, Lymle 58/100, Bacchus 53/100, Meracle 51/100, Sarah 37/100, Myuria 56/100 and Arumat 48/100.

The old RPG or the Total war'ish strategy game? Are they both good or bad? I did enjoyed the RPG while I have played it, but I have never finnished it... That says, that it was not best of the Black Isle games, but still worth the time I spend playing it. But keep in mind, for this game, is lot of mixed reactions, you should ask around for other oppinion, but IMHO 3 bucks is worth it.

Just got yesterday International C license gold for every test in Gran Turismo 5... Man I never thought some racing game could be so addictive... Spent more than 6 hours on the License to get it full gold... Besides that I started Star Ocean Last Hope International... Bot somehow I forgot to use save game feature, so after 2 hours of grinding I got owned and I nearly killed my DualShock 3 O.o
