  1. I just hope they'll keep the tone and qualities of the first game to make the sequel, and that they will make a save importation system so that we could follow the story we created and see results of our choices and actions.
  2. This is the funniest trailer I've seen in a while, can't wait to have a first glimpse of TOW2. I hope you guys will make an "import first game save " feature so we could continue our adventures depending on our choices and actions. And I truly hope that microsoft won't interfere in the development and will just give you guys a huge budget to allow your combined talents to do magic on a bigger scale and with more secrets to uncover and hazardous places to visit. It's kind of fun in a way that obsidian and bethesda are both developing rpgs in space, even if they are very different games. Keep making great and smart games with more secret passages and ways to enter specific places and various ways to solve quests, you guys are among the best rpg creators.
  3. Such great news, I just hope the DLC takes place after main story and we'll be able to play it after main game plot, instead of "interrupting" main quest to go explore the new asteroid.
  4. I just hope that microsof will give them a big budget to make The Outer Worlds 2, so that we can have a much bigger world to explore, more different ways to achieve our quests and to acquire leverage on people, with a deeper karma / reputation / faction system. Also, romance options and different storylines outcomes for our companions would be great. Depending on our actions and way to talk and play with them, we could either seduce them, make them start to hate us, make them your slaves, or even push one to become our enemy etc. Some optional mods for ship could be fun too, like cloaking device for staying undetected, jamming systems for safe comms, personal drug lab to create our own medicines or cultivation room to grow plants, there's a lot of interesting things they could allow us to do with our ships in terms of customization and gameplay. Since we're always known as the Unreliable's Captain everywhere we go, it's hard to do everything we want , say what we want, or just doing anything without everybody else knowing it, and even if it was a convenient thing for the plot, I think a different approach for a second game would open new doors in terms of choices and gameplay. The unreliable shouldn't be as famous as the millenium falcon, the normandy or any other ship, because it's just a ****ty old cargo which doesn't represent any threat. In my opinion we should be able to either change the identification name of the ship by stealing another ship's id or hacking into some specific computer in a spatioport, either find ways to erase all records of our ships travels, either get some special hidden quests with specific characters which would allow us to land the ship somewhere else and visit some locations without people knowing who we are or where we come from. Also, the scientific special weapons were a good idea, but I'd love them to push it further. Maybe add some riddles / puzzle games and side quests to unlock weapons' full potential, and why not even give them additionnal effects and combos depending on our characters abilities and actions, so they could kind of evolve with us. We could even have AI weapons, babies from ADA and our beloved cleaner robot.
  5. All I know is that I can't wait to hear anything about it. It's been 6 months since the DLC announcement and Obsidian didn't say any word about it since then, which is a bit concerning. Does it mean that we'll get a very big DLC with lot of content and 20+ hours of playtime, or does it mean that it's been delayed because of covid crisis ? We don't know anything. Maybe it's just taking a lot of time because they only put a very small dev team on it. I just can't wait for new adventures in the Unreliable with my fantastic crew
  6. Oh yeah !! That's the best christmas gift you could make ! Thank you guys, can't wait to play it. Keep doing great work and improve. I'm glad I voted for your game, you deserve our love.
  7. 81 hours ? Man what did you do ? Because I'm pretty sure I went everywhere, behind all rocks, spoke to everybody, did everything and all side quests I could, and it took me 45 hours, with some lazy times for rolling my cigs. This game sure isn't the biggest or the longest, but it's the funniest and most immersive I've ever played, with quests, dialogues, and gameplay mechanics near from table-top rpgs. We sure would have loved it even more if it was a 100-150 hours game, as big as mass effect and the witcher, without all the boring stuff the last of these series added, but they don't have the same number of people, and didn't have same budget. We're just gonna have to play it a few times and wait for Dlc / add-on, or cry for years until they make a sequel.
  8. Yeah, I mostly refused all the flaws I could get, except for food addict. So if I didn't eat all the time, I had lower attributes which impacted on my gameplay. The combat is too easy most of times, and I also had tons of useless items I never tasted. The system just need to be improved along with the combat, so it would be more coherent and useful. Should also see changes on the character depending on the flaws you'd get during your adventures. A drug addict would change physically, and have quest linked to it, things like that. Flaws are a good idea but got to improve it and go deeper with it.
  9. Found them fun, and not overpowered, just unusual weapons made by weird scientists. I would have loved more use to them. Like, for example, you could shrink someone to kidnap him / her without being noticed. Or, we could use the gloop gun on a door to unlock it, things like that. One of the things I loved about the skills in the game, was they were efficient in dialogues, in exploration, in combat, everywhere. Science weapons, as special weapons, should also allow more interactions with the universe, to unlock secret passages, or scare people. Like, you're in the office of any important person, want to threaten and scare him / her, and you shrink one of the employees to show you're not joking. Or, you could use the prismatic hammer to deactivate electric force fields, things like that.
  10. The game sales and number of people playing it with game pass will most certainly help them decide to do some additionnal content or not, but as far as we know, there's sadly no plan for it. So, all we can do is cross fingers, and hope the game will sell lot of copies, show our love to the title and the studio behind it, so that Microsoft and Private know they could make money with the franchise soon, and not only in a few years.
  11. You want a flawed and imperfect character but you complain that you made a mediocre character ? If you character wasn't flawed at anything, it was like perfect ? How did you manage that ? As far as I know, you can't max all skills to 100, so you most certainly had flaws and were better in some domains than others. Your example is priceless. Like, knowing how to Dodge and Block attacks has totally nothing in common. It's not like they could be part of a global knowledge known as martial arts, close combat etc. It makes perfect sense that they're linked, because it's how it works for real. Someone with basic self-defense skills will be more easily able to dodge and parry / block attacks, than someone who's never fought except with a rifle or gun. And all skills grouped together make perfect sense, because they're all part of the same domains of knowledges. You can' be a doctor without a lot of scientific knowledges, and you can't unlock a door or a chest if you don't know how to be silent and agile, and hide. I wanted to make my character a very talented speaker, but also a talented hacker, and that's how I ended. I wasn't the best shooter, nor the best Leader, nor the best melee fighter. But I just knew how to defend myself and talk my way out of many situations, avoiding fights, and hacked my way to blackmail some others. Depending on how you spend your points, each player has different options throughout the whole game, and that's what makes it so great and coherent.
  12. No, you can't explore them. They have no city, atmosphere and humans can't live on them. We could hope for DLC / expansion using them, but since Obisidian didn't say anything about it, not sure it's gonna happen.
  13. Obsididan and Private Division first made a deal with Epic because Epic offers them more money than other game selling platforms. After that, Microsfot bought Obsidian, and probably managed to offer a new deal to Private Division in order to get it on their store and game pass. Steam prefers to take all the money for themselves and give little to developers, and this need to change. That's why going with epic was the best move. Also, it's a way for them to be free from steam's control over the market, and this can only be good.
  14. Whether you like it or not, the way your skills and character evolves in-game is actually the most accurate and realistic I've ever seen to date. Because you can't be the best in everything, you've got to specialize. Like in real life. Being able to talk your way out of some situation requires very special skills, and so does being able to hack high security computers, or steal from people without them noticing. You can take any example, weapons, science, it works the same in real life. Someone who's good with guns will also know some things about how to use rifles or other weapons, because they have common mechanics and requirements. Dialogue skills also make sense. If you're very good to talk with people and convince them, you could lie, or say the truth, or even threaten them, it would work, because they really believe in your words. I'm sure you're a fan of skyrim and this kind of rpgs, which allow you to be a badass in everything, and be the most powerful mage / warrior / thief / crafter / swordsmith / jeweler etc altogether, but it's totally unrealistic and the opposite of fun to me. You can't be the best in everything, no matter how hard you'd try and want it. Everyone has domains of predilection, like different kind of things. And you don't become a master of combat, hack, science or anything else in a day.
  15. Could it be that nobody found the way to unlock any of them yet ? Or just that there is no city or spaceport there to land ? Would be great to have additional DLC or expansion for them anyway.
  16. You are right there, I know what you mean. It's like when you play a batman game, and you look at the map and ask yourself "brainstorm time, how am I gonna enter this buidling, there are so many different options" and then you realize, you will enter it the same way you did for 99% of the places you visit, through a ventilation conduct. In all 3 games. When I think about all the rpgs I've played in the past 20 years, they were all so much better, they didn't have any hidden place to find. Most rpgs give you only one road to reach your objective, and all players make the same travels and road all around the game. In TOW, I'm pretty sure there's a lot of players who missed a lot of areas, with secrets, informations and loot. Moreover, I think it totally fits the universe and its general tone.
  17. Don't know whether they've plans for DLCs with additional places and quests, but would sure love that ! Moreover, I'd totally pay for extensions in the spirit of those made for the witcher 3, adding 10+ hours of playtime to this brilliant and refreshing masterpiece.
  18. You've just spoiled us :(. I should never have read this. Now gonna need to call Sam to clean my memory.
  19. -Hey, your game makes my eyes bleed, but I love it. Also, I love it so much that I'd prefer to give more money to the people selling it than people who actually made it, because they invented anti-consumer practices and became rich thanks to it since decades.
  20. Guy don't find enough drama in-game, goes create drama on forum to satisfy his thirst for it. You've got it all wrong, you're currently entertaining TOW fans and developers being processed by it
  21. Honestly, I never loved this much doing quests in any game until TOW. Not only because I love the universe and the critics behind jokes and satire, but because, unlike most Rpgs I've played these past years, you can do quests in various ways that will impact the story and evolution of your character and companions and the places you visit. I mean, take Witcher series, which was my most favorite number 1. Someone hires you to kill a monster, okay. You go and track it down, and maybe 3-5 times, in the 3 games, you can chose to spare the monster you've been paid to kill. Most of times, the only thing you can do is follow the quest, kill, and ask more money for reward. Pick almost any quest from TOW, and you'll find different ways to complete it. You can even never complete it by finding a better bidder for doing the task. No matter which quest you get, you can do it in various ways during combat, during dialogues and decide to screw everybody in the end and go for another side in the end. Also, you can make a faction believe you work with them and think the same way they do, then screw them in the long term. I've never seen this field of possibilities in any other 3D Rpg game so far. Quests may not be the most original, but nowadays that is pretty difficult to invent new quests that we'd never have seen anywhere else. W3 earned its medals for the universe, for the have-sex-with-each-girl-you-meet-if-you-want feature, and the overall writing way above what we usually find in usual rpgs, along with a dark and uncensored view on heroic fantasy, impressive graphic engine mixing poetry and beauty of fairy tales with humans inner darkness and talking about real world mature subjects behind all of it. TOW has great writing, with ton of humor at different levels, and give you the opportunity to chose how you will do a quest from start to end, also letting you chose to fail it for a more suitable outcome in your opinion, all this in a world filled with clues, secret paths, and little fun or less fun stories to read and learn, sometimes very useful for some quests, sometimes just to make you laugh. They've invented everything, and made very fun characters and companions which make the game immersive and give it this special taste you don't find at each corner, with all qualities w3 has, except for the density, the scope, and all the boring stuff all over the map. They don't reinvent how a wheel will roll, but they make it roll in various ways that gives it pepper and sugar all together.
  22. So, basically, you're complaining because you find your Hacking and Unlocking skills useless, even if thanks to them you didn't need to buy anything during the whole game, and that's the reason why you ask them to add more valuable items in the chests you unlock ? ? Best reasoning I've ever read in my life !
