  1. https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Status_effects_(Deadfire) Staggered -5 Might, Cannot engage Dazed -5 Might, Cannot engage, -4 Penetration Stunned -5 Might, -4 Penetration, Stunned, -10 Deflection The Flesh Golems in FS can chain-stun you. Fighter charge ability from mobs also can stun you long enough in my experience (as a caster solo) that you can die pretty quickly before getting buffs/spells off, at least on PoTD (one place this can happen a lot is Berkana's Observatory for instance). You can use food like Shark Soup for immunity, but I was running Captain's Banquet food, so having a Might affliction immunity item was pretty helpful for certain fights and worth the trade-off giving up another robe/armor for those instances .
  2. I've been switching to it on builds where the might Afflcition immunity is needed for specific areas/encounters - like the Flesh Golems in FS... but in general I switch back to High Harbinger (for dmg) or maybe Manegra's Chain (for +Will) when not specifically needed.
  3. Actually both can do that, it seems random. Good Food, better friends: Can not be acquired after ashen maw, if you have installed the third dlc. Nope. You can have it from scripted ecounter in Lowland Sands anytime. Yeah thanks It seems, it does not override the food bonus. If this is true, it is frakking HUGE.
  4. I tried doing writ but I can't seem to time it right against the cleansing sigil? It's either I do it too early or too late. Do you know of the exact time I should place it? Playing as a priest/wiz is such a pain against Auranic. How did you do it against him? In my testing, Writ of Sorcery showed as being active on the Sigil, after you cast it, but didn't shut off its casting. Which I called BS on in my thread about soloing Sigilmaster. It seems to be the one thing Writ doesn't affect. Nobody seems to care. I posted a bug about it. *shrug* My Priest/Wiz* only survived the sigil by stacking a lot of regen gear in various slots, and respecing into healing spells incluing HOT ones and the near-death one, and carrying potions/scrolls -- that carried me through destroying the Cleansing Sigil first (while using Arcane Reflection spell). You can't affect the sigil when it is bubbled, but you can affect it first with a DOT affect (like combusting wounds) that will persist and damage it when sigil has the bubble up again. Also I believe items powers like Gouging Strike work the same way (if you have a rogue with you) and maybe also Brand Enemy. *I was stacking no-rest bonuses so I couldn't go back and rest at Konstanten's room like many have suggested, for the undispellable spell reflect chance.
  5. Maker's Own Power belt also gives +1 Might and there may be some other items. Plus Gift From The Machine (custom history) gives +1 Might after Hasongo, a couple of the Effigy's Resentment bonuses (also custom history) also give +1 Might (https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/101300-guide-permanent-bonuses-approach-for-a-no-rest-run/). So you could get 2 might from custom history, plus 2-3 might from items, before you consider food bonuses (incluidng great foods like Shark Soup if I remember correctly). Also Rubyuna's Boon (prosty visit at 2nd floor Wild Mare) gives +1 might, and there's always the Cauldron Brew choice to add +1 to any attribute (though it likely is mid-game or later before you can get it).
  6. Actually both can do that, it seems random. Good Food, better friends: Can not be acquired after ashen maw, if you have installed the third dlc. Is it still a toss-up between Good Food, Better Friends and food buffs? The info in the original post said it overwrites ....
  7. Is it this, or something else? https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/98898-healing-the-grove-at-motare-o-kozi-effect/
  8. how'd you facetank the fire dragon (and any other dragon if they do the same wound-giving bite attacks etc)? interrupts so he couldn't wound you? or try to time the attacks and run out of range? or keep the oozes between you and him?
  9. My point was that at least solo on PoTD upscaled - what I said above - they don't seem that OP to me. And I'm dying in areas like the Fampyr Cave or Sea-Lashed Crypt when the encounter starts and I'm trying to set up my buffs, like Stone of Power and Potion of Ascencion, and the Swift Flurry / Tenacious / Dance clicks, and maybe casting Avenging Storm via a scroll, if they get lucky hits in or KD me. They do a lot of ranged damage as well. And I do seem to become visible between WotW casts, though perhaps that's because i need to slow down my game speed. If I get the timing right*, I can kill them for sure, but generally it's razor-edge stuff on a solo helwalker. On the Ukaizo guardian, I haven't yet made it through a fight - and that's with using Blunderbusses/WotW on him and the titans ... i ultimately run out of healing and die (yes, I should try it carrying full stack of multiple healing potions). Ref jumps - what Waski said, no-rest run solo w/o empower, no godlike because need the hat slot*. Prestige + Stone of Power + Potions (sometimes) My point is, on these harder encounters, it doesn't feel OP solo. I remember when I ran monk in a party, there were at least a few fights in SSS arena where also the blunderbuss / resonance stacking wasn't enough - particuarly I remember that one where every time you kill a razorback it turns into a larger razorback being very difficult, and I know there were others. OK, maybe i need to L2P, but i'm just saying for the average joe, I don't think this should be oversold. (*interrupt protection via wound & revku hat necessary)
  10. Raven Darkholme previously said: Rings of greater regen don't stack. (with each other) https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/104782-regeneration-healing-stacking-question/
  11. I think you're probably overselling both. Not that I don't think the GIF is awsomesauce -- it's just that enemies are rarely that grouped up, and on PoTD I think you're going to take a ton of damage from the ones that matter (Fampyr Cave, Sea-Lashed Crypt entrance, Ukaizo, maybe others in FS (Sissak's Nest, Librarians) ... I could be wrong, feel free to post vids, happy to learn. I can say that I've been testing out solo PoTD upscaled Monk builds using WotW and blunderbusses, and it still is not crazy OP on mobs like the above - I've died more times than I like, testing. Maybe i need to learn2play, but I don't want people here to come away with the wrong impression.
  12. You need like 194 will to have it always miss, or you need to stop or interrupt casters. Slicken is great for the latter and writ of sorcery for the former.
  13. For a caster, i'd consider Thaumaturge (esp if solo). You can self-buff to terrific levels and avoid death through BDD.
  14. I took at look at your pic and you are showing buffed skills of 31/28/26/20/25/24 (with the +10 might and +10 CON from wounds) ... and in the other vid, you have (no wounds) 18/18/21/20/25/25 ... on the second vids stats, how did you chose your key breakpoints (e.g., 21 dex vs. 20 dex or even 18 dex)? Curious what gear you're using to get to 18 AR and if that includes any armor buff from Iron Wheel (OK, nemnok cloak and spirit shield potion). Other vid has Giftbearer cloak to stack DEF, I presume that was a megaboss selection vs. Ajumet Stalking Cloak for encounters with more mobs (to stun on WoW). I am messing around with a spreadsheet to track no-rest buffs and can see my way to something like 20/20/15/24/20/22 using Shark Soup, before gear. Or something like 20/22/22/22/20/22 with gear (can move around some points to pump more RES - i'll try to experiment in game to see what is needed to reach 180+ Will). It would be relatively easy to use gear to boost that by a few points around each attribute -- especially if we use Eviee pet (as suggested above) to free up head-slot (Eviee gives you the resolve affliction resistance, instead of needing Horns of Bleak Mother). I guess the benefit of taking Enlightened Agony is that you can shrug off afflictions relatively fast and get +5 Int (which would put you at 35 if you use Turning Wheel instead of the CON buff from Iron Wheel, and if that stacks with Enlighted Agony) - is that worth it? I saw it wasn't in your Sigilmaster build (maybe you respec'd out of it?). Not sure what to adjust - could sacrifice resolve for more DEX, or even lower PER for a few points elswhere before gear (no-rest build carries the nature's resolve +10 accuracy buff, and I know certain monk abilities increase it further like Enduring Dance and Razor's Edge). Is the high Will from high resolve really necessary on an SC solo monk to avoid Arcane Damper (it feels like there's not much to be dispelled here - does Damper cancel the self-buffs or only potion-based buffs in an SC monk build?) Lots of investment in stats ... For armor, I've seen suggestions raising from High Harbinger Robe (which seems to squishy, but was in the OP), to Patinated Plate (I assume with the -recovery enchant), and I've thought about using DoC breastplate enchanted vs. intellect afflictions (for more resources too). I tried using Contender's Armor and stacking athletics (for -recovery), but it didn't seem to really do that much vs trade-off of using other armors. Race everyone seems to be going human, I assume because of near-death/bloodied buffs (this being hellwalker) -- vs. going pale elf for the +4 fire/cold AR? I see Boeroer talk a lot about Torment's Reach and Stunning Surge ... in my quick testing so far, I couldn't see a good time to use either - it felt like spammming WoW was basically the thing to do (WoW also hitting stacks on Grave Calling quickly). Worth taking both or giving one up in order to go for other powers like Crucible of Suffering, Long Pain, or the Bulls Will talent? Last question: abilities ... saw a suggestion here of stacking arcana to 13 to use Avenging Storm scrolls (I assume the rest goes into athletics), given a no-rest build can't really use the Heaven'e Cacophony helm (1x/rest Av Storm). I suppose that would also let you use Pull of Eora scrolls to try to group mobs (and maybe if you hit yourself, it becomes an affliction you can clear to get Enlightened Agony). What about any other sweet-spot spread into Alchemy or any other actives? For passives, have to stack religion to get the shrine bonuses first, but after that, any suggstions on helpful passives? (Looks like you stacked history for megabosses) Thanks team.
  15. @giftmefood what's your ending Resolve target value and does it include drugs / buffs? What's your ending Will def target? Is this just to avoid arcane damper from sigil master and others? Won't the arcane cleanse still get you?
  16. For the ironclad transformation fight, I just went back to the Inn at the arena and used some standard companions that focused on auras (pally, chanter). If the game is going to turn you into a mob that has no powers you spent all game getting on your toon, you shouldn't feel bad about no soloing 1 fight.
  17. Watch the video I linked to Darkly. I watched it. Looks like you basically use your summons to tank the boss while you stay at range with blunderbuss to stack Resonant Touch debuffs before detonating them all. When I used summons on Fire Dragon, they got distracted by the Oozes and didn't stay on the boss. I assume you're using blunderbuss (even with NO PEN?) because it shoots multiple projectiles to increase your stack count more quickly.
  18. Thanks for the info. You're using the Stalking Cloak that stuns from stealth? When you start to attack, are you in melee with her? Do you buff first (she was meelee-ing me and giving wound while I was buffing in front of her with potions).... Sounds like you wait for her to summon oozes and then just use WoW with fist/scordeo equipped? Why scordeo (I had trouble getting it to have enough PEN, fist had just enough). What kind of gear are you using - armor, rings, etc. I tried to stack 18 fire AR and it felt that was needed to not die right away. Maybe my CON is too low. Fampyr Cave was even harder because they don't start all tightly grouped, and trying to pull them to make some group together exposes you to a lot of ranged damage. Had to equip DoC for immunity to mind, as well.
  19. I was testing out a Hellwalker build based on ideas in this thread, but seems very squishy even wearing patinated plate and using the +CON power (vs. +INT). Groups of mobs do very high damage very quickly, like the Fampyrs in Cave. For fire dragon, even stacking 18 Fire AR, i couldn't melee him due to eating his wound attacks (didn't see an easy way to constantly interrupt) -- had to stay at range with Essence Interrupter to beat him, with the Oozes blocking him. I saw the OP had 600+ hp so perhaps I haven't stacked CON enough (I had about 400). What's the secret?
  20. OK, so fun fact: the Weyc's Wand (referenced above) gives Courageous (+5 resolve, immune to interrupts) on empowering a Priest spell (if soulbound) ...and that duration appears to be extended by maybe Intelligence, maybe by Empower itself (if you use the Empower ability that extends inspirations), and DEFINITELY by Salvation of Time and Wall of Draining. I just stacked it to 445 seconds. And it persists after Combat ends, like Brilliant (from Shroud of Phantasm). So you basically walk around with immunity to interrupts for as long as you can stack it (Priest/Wiz build). Use it to buff and then switch to stat-sticks for nuking. OK, it comes late (FS) but we had a discussion in another thread about how to get interrupt immunity, so this is worth nothing. It lets you forego carrying a wound and using Revku cap, as far as i can tell. I'd like to figure out a Priest/Wiz build that's not no-rest and can lean on empowers, or maybe a pure Priest is better.
  21. I think Boeroer was testing some ranger builds he mentioned, including a geomancer that specialized in touch spells (like the 1st level ones) maybe and using phantasms?
  22. Isn't Rust's Poignard still like the best one-hand pierce weapon in the game? Even better than Pukestabber unless you build for dual-dagger with Pukestabber? I suppose you could go Estoc if you really wanted piece and PEN ... I think Eager Blade is avail early? https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Eager_Blade
  23. Potion of Ascencion is pretty good, gives +2 PL for the fight, and not that hard to craft or buy (the Outcast's Respite guy you free who turns into a vendor usually sells it, as I think does the potion guy at SSS). Is it worth running monk no-rest with PEN food vs. Captain's Banquet?
