  1. No. The closest thing to the 3.5 Warlock would be the Witch, but the Witch is a full debuff caster with Vancian magic and little to no damage spells. There special ability is referred to as a Hex, which is a supernatural ability that can be used once per day per target for buffs/debuffs. I don't think it made it into the game.
  2. Don't forget the Skyrim is the greatest RPG to be released, surpassing the **** stain that was BG2.
  3. Pathfinder works perfectly without prestige classes unless you're choosing a PC that expands your main classes abilities. There's no point in having a Fighter/Wizard multiclass because they already have Magus as a class, which does it better despite the mechanics relegating you to only using shocking grasp for the entire game. Of course, they could just leave the Magus class to the half orc companion where it will likely be **** because half orc.
  4. Did you also do the water colors for Viconia?
  5. You can read all about them here: http://www.d20pfsrd.com While not as broken as 3.5, it still has its share of broken aspects. I can almost guarantee that plays will lack most of the race options, race substitutions, and class archetypes that the system provides. I can almost guarantee that the CMD rules are going to be altered or nonexistent. Do you mean DD 3.5 edition? How is that broken? In my view, it's brilliant. Fighters are absolutely worthless unless you play a class from Tome of Battle, which is a book that most DMs ban on principle. Most of the classes that rank in Tier 3 and below are poorly balanced and require extreme min-maxing in order to make them even slightly useful in combat, and I'm not even going to get into the mess that is the Truenamer class. Wizards/Druids/Clerics will always be better at doing everything any other class can do in the game, unless you really **** up building one. The game is based on the official Kingmaker Campaign Module that Paizo produced: http://paizo.com/store/pathfinder/adventures/adventurePath/kingmaker It has been noted as having a loosely structured story, with no clear end goal or BBEG. https://rpggeek.com/thread/771793/kingmaker-right-you-nearly-spoiler-free-evaluation

  7. In a discussion in another thread most people seemed to be unaware of the option to leave her with another family. So it was considered, at least by many players, as the most benevolent choice. Just because you brutally murder Simoc and his "top warriors" doesn't mean that no one is going to raise Vela to take over the Three-Tusk clan.
  8. Then you are unfamiliar with the Greek Gods and most of the D&D universe Gods. Do enlighten me oh wise one... Well, let's start with one of the versions of the Legend of Medusa. We all know Medusa as an "evil" woman with snakes for hair and whose very gaze turns humans to stone. Of course there's more to the story, Medusa was regarded as extremely beautiful so Poseidon raped her in Athena's temple, so Athena turned her into a Gorgon. Medusa was then killed by Perseus, while pregnant with Poseidon's child, with help of multiple Gods. In keeping with the theme of Athena being a bitch, Athena was challenged to a weaving contest by a woman named Arachne. Arachne was an exceptionally gifted weaver, and boasted that her talents were better than Athena. Which of course is HUBRIS and must be PUNISHED, except Arachne was right and she did beat Athena in the contest. Enraged that a mere mortal would dare to compare herself to the Glorious and Infallible Greek Gods, Athena turned Arachne into a spider. Zeus basically ****ed any female he saw, regardless of species. I recall one myth where he ****ed a goat because it was "sexy". His Sister-Wife Hera was extremely jealous of all of the females Zeus cheated on her with, and commonly tried to ruin the lives of any of Zeus' offspring. Hercules comes to mind in that regard. The Greek Gods were not "Glorious" or "Virtuous", they represented the worst of humanity.
  9. Vivienne doesn't get the credit she deserves and Tali has a solid, coherent arc that spans three games and is less fawny than Liara. Aveline is a character type I almost always dislike but they make her jive in DA2. Out of curiosity, what is it exactly about the three you mentioned that make them so exceptional? They are the first characters of their respective stereotypes he encountered so they are always the best.
  10. I think the more upsetting thing is that Ninagauth keeps getting his grimoire stolen, it's a wonder he remains an Archmage. It's difficult to choose between Ninagauth's and Vaporous Wizardy. On one hand, you gain access to spells that you have no way of getting; and on the other, you gain bonus per encounter casts of your spells. I'd say each "special" grimoire should provide a separate bonus besides the spells given, while reducing the amount of "regular" grimoires that drop.

  12. So the only reason to follow a god is they might kill you if you don't? Given the Gods apathy towards life they'll probably kill you regardless of worship.
  13. Yes, but in the Forgotten Realms the Grand DM decreed that every God requires worshippers in order to survive. The Drow God of necromancy faded from existence after some bull**** occurred where everyone forgot her existence. A more apt comparison for the PoE gods would be with Dragonlance, where the Gods exist and repeatedly **** over the world because they're constantly fighting each other. Hell, the God of Goodness Paladine destroyed an entire civilization because he didn't like its leader. He wiped them out by throwing a mountain at them, clearly Ondra was inspired by him.
  14. Thaos' argument was that other civilization were murdering each other because they had differing gods; if they all have the same views, they will not kill each other because of differing gods! It's fine if they decide to genocide each other for different reasons though. The problem the Engwithan's ended up with is that their Gods are not as beneficial to the world in the manner that they hoped. Sure, kith aren't killed over religion, excluding the Dyrwood because they're just that ****ed up, but the Gods are killing people. When Ondra killed Abydon an untold amount of kith could have died, more people died during the Saint's War, Eothas kills who nows how many more in the Deadfire, Woedica is likely responsible for even more deaths if her behavior during the first chat is anything to go on, and Magran kills everything at Ashen Maw and kills eleven clerics during the Godhammer. How is any of this an improvement on life before the "Gods"?
  15. Meanwhile the beings that were created are throwing moons at the planet and causing who knows how many disasters because "I r madz".
  16. Thank you for the more grounded perspectives on this. I know a lot of these topics go crazy with speculation or hyperbole or whatnot, but it sometimes gets to me anyways. I only knew about it because Paradox advertised it on their forums while I was checking a dev diary for one of their grand strategy games.
  17. Yeah, paradox admitted that they dropped the ball on marketing and release. They also said that they were pleased with Tyranny’s sales, having only been slightly below expectationsAnd then turned around and did the same thing for Battletech. Why? BattleTech was actually delayed from its original release window in 2017 to April of this year. I'd say that was a pretty good decision because that way the game did not drown in a sea of holiday releases like Tyranny plus it definitely needed the additional time (the release version was still pretty buggy in spite of the delays). Also, I'm not sure what people are expecting in terms of marketing. TV ads? Cinema trailers? Ads on Broadway? Let's be realistic. Paradox is a small publisher and a turn-based tactical mech combat game is rather niche. They focused their marketing on social media and streaming portals (YT, Twitch etc.) where it belongs to reach core gamers. BattleTech sold really well for a relatively niche game. It was high up in the concurrent players charts on Steam for a couple of weeks after its release. Much higher numbers than Deadfire for sure. It took the #3 and #6 spot on Steam's top 10 charts in the week of its release, another week later it was still #6 (Deadfire only made it to 4th place once in the week of its release and never appeared in the top 10 again). Besides, Harebrained were VERY happy with the reception and sales of BattleTech (quote below is from a KS update)... HBS was also purchased by Paradox.
  18. At least it has more of a cohesive story than Tomb Raider...
  19. I don't really see why they needed charges in the first place, they worked fine I the first game.
  20. ****, thats, like....just wow. The games doing fine compared to the first one at the same point in time.
  21. There's only one definition of Entropy that may fit Rymrgand: In cosmology the hypothetical tendency for the universe to attain a state of maximum homogeneity in which all matter is a uniform temperature (heat death).
  22. My character simply chose the "cruel" option in the dialogue (lighting a fuse and jumping out of the ship). Feel free to try, Maia, you know what will happen. I like how her response is "I didn't know that was an option". Xoti and Serafen also love it. You don't receive enough Cruel points for it to register unless you've been choosing every Cruel opion before it.
  23. It's been a while since I've gone there, but when I inspected the hooded figure it was a skeleton, I then had my watcher nod and move on.
  24. Yeah, girls that age tend to decide they love you on a whim like she does... I think the char needs an overhaul in general. Have you interacted with any of the younger generations? They're almost exactly like Xoti.
