  1. Two problems: 1. He's trying to solo the game, in which case from experience Inquisitor does not work. 2. He's playing in a team comp. In which case: why combine paladin with cipher? Combine Cipher with Devoted Fighter for tankiness and damage synergy (Cipher + Devoted is one of the best and easiest to use combos), and have someone else be the Paladin and heal and provide auras and mark enemies. I'm assuming he's trying to min/max. Of course, with a party, you can beat the game easily with 5 Inquisitors. Having more Paladins is NEVER bad. But it's counter to his apparent min-max tendencies.
  2. As someone who's tried inquisitor, it's pretty depressing. And that was before the recent paladin nerfs. You're obviously looking to min/max. So don't play Inquisitor. Paladin/Rogue, Paladin/Monk, Paladin/Fighter, Paladin/Barb, Paladin/Chanter are all better. For top tier cipher options it's: Cipher/Rogue, Cipher/Devoted, Cipher/Ranger, Cipher/Barb, Cipher/Monk. As cipher you absolutely need solid conventional weapon DPS and if there's one thing that Paladins don't provide it's that.
  3. Solo really restricts what you can do. Like every solo build is either: "this won't work until lvl 16" Or: "this is a tankbot." Or: "this is a cheesebot." With team builds you're allowed a bit more flexibility and fun. Shifters in solo simply aren't good because you don't get the benefits of special armor or weapon.
  4. Try Paladin/Chanter, use large shield and heavy armor, and focus on summons and tankiness. The sad thing is summons do more damage than ciphers.
  5. Key idea: No Recovery Time. Lots of heals. As shifter you get 0 recovery time while getting decent armor. As Streetfighter, you get -50% Recovery time when flanked or bloodied. Combine the two and that means one attack every 2 seconds. With Streetfighter, that's an extra +50% damage from Sneak Attack. With two handed style, this means even faster recovery times. Also, as a Moon Goddess, and as a shifter, you get lots and lots of auto-heals. Finally, you're a druid. So you can start off every fight with either MoonWell or Hold Beasts. Then teleport in and whale on the paralyzed enemies. Combine it with "Maker's Own Power" belt (you heal a lot when you're Near Death) and the net result is a surprisingly tanky damage beast that can teleport around the battlefield. Works best in a team because as a shifter, you don't need good armor or weapons and can give someone else those. You also get Persistent Distraction, DeathBlows, Deep Wounds, and Wildstrike bonuses later, too. Also, if there's a cipher in the party to give you Pain Block, Valorous Echoes, Pain Link, and Echo plastic Wave, even better. Pain Block works especially well because your tankiness comes from self heals, not defenses.
  6. Form of the Fearsome Brute still sucks.
  7. Excellent. My Paladin/Chanter, the invulnerable one, still works. Have to worry more about running out of resources as Paladin/Rogue, but with Devil of Caroc's Breastplate, the nerfs aren't enough to stop it. EDIT: Form of the Fearsome Brute still sucks. EDIT 2: Wow. Poisons. That's good for all of my DOT toons.
  8. That's what I'm doing right now. Solo POTD. Brand enemy, fire an Arterial and Gouging Strike with blunderbuss at an enemy, then teleport/run away. You're tanky, you've got heals, and you do good DPS. Weapon switch to sword and shield and do riposte for the times when you can't run away. Devastating. Each class covers the weaknesses of the other.
  9. Gouging Strike DOT lasts forever. Apply that and brand and an arterial strike or two and the rest of the fight is just a matter of staying alive.
  10. Multiclass with Paladin and go slay some Holy people. Multiclass anything with Paladin and the result is f- loads of tankiness.
  11. Tekehu is awesome because he can spam Chill Cloud on your own party members and it won't hit them. In combat, I use him just to spam Moonwells and Chill Clouds. Very good at support.
  12. That's why you multiclass it with a Paladin. Have you tried that? The result is.... SUPERROGUE. The game may call it "A HolySlayer" but a better name would be: "The Terminator Machine of DEATH." Combine Streetfighter with Riposte with a Paladin's defenses and healing and auras and Rogue offensive and DOT abilities and, well, yeah. A Streetfighter/Paladin is like a self-healing tank with teleport and heavy armor and fast recovery speeds and DOTs. The two classes synergize unusually well.
  13. Multishot. Kitchen Stove and Hand Mortar. Guarantees that your DOT (arterial strike) hits the primary target, and oftentimes will hit 2-3 other targets, too.
  14. Priest spells take too long to cast for solo. Also, in a group: Chanters can do everything that priests can do, except: 1. Chanters never run out of resources. 2. They can summon.
  15. You get all of your "cool" abilities at an early level, making it one of the best multi-classers. Requires a bit of creativity to use them effectively, but they have teleports, high-damaging passives, and invis, all of which come online by level of 10. They also have some of the best DOT abilities in the game.
  16. Actually people have already done it. The idea is simple: Arterial Strike + Rogue + Blunderbuss. Use blunderbuss to activate Arterial Strike and Gouging Eye on a group of enemies. Then run away. The enemies die chasing after you. Add in the Paladin ability: Brand for even more DOT damage (was running a Holy Slayer) and you can kite everything to death and you're tanky and can heal yourself. Add in alchemy and it's even more OP. Works from level 10 onwards.
  17. Not going to tell anyone about it because I don't want it nerfed. Hint: (Edit) REDACTED 'Nuff said.
  18. Yeah, but by that point, you should have gotten all of the achievements on another char.
  19. Ah. Then look at Fate Testerossa build on this forum. (+5 Lightning penetration with Deltro's Armor and Lord Voulgt's Poleaxe) Druid/Monk. EDIT: I always get Fury and Shifter mixed up.
