  1. Stay at range. Easiest playstyle. Monks/Spellcasters aren't that tanky unless you're investing a lot of spells for defense, in which case you may as well play Monk/Paladin. The problem with POTD is that unless you're playing a party of mass chanters, the enemies are going to swarm you even if you try to stay at range.
  2. In POE1 with my group of 6 chanters, or 5 chanters and 1 cipher, the game was easy. I would just run straight into a fight and everyone would die in 20 seconds from the Uber Dragon-Thrashed Chant of POE1. If they didn't die, I would then cast Disintegrate and Summon Ogres. Easy Peesy. No tactics required.
  3. Troubador's probably better. In a party, you're also the ultimate party buffer. 60 second Quick and Insightful Invocation at lvl 5. 60 second Strong and Steadfast at lvl 4. +5 Might, Resolve, Con bonuses for the entire party at lvl 6 for 60 seconds. And that's ignoring the passive chants. In a party you could just be a buffbot 9000. Build a party of 4 Tankbots (Paladin/Fighters), and you, the BuffBot, and go to town on everyone.
  4. With Duality's Int Bonus and max int, this means a 60 second Pain Block. Like, all of your DOTs and charms and buffs will have 2x the duration with 30+ Int. Recall Agony at 30 seconds. Borrowed Instinct at 60 seconds. Ringleader for 40 seconds. Etc. etc.
  5. Also: Instruments of Pain, Heartbeat Drumming, and Wahai Poraga at high levels. Remember: you're still a monk.
  6. You get the core parts by level 10 (Ogres and Duality). Drakes come in at 13. With high DEX your cast time is 3 seconds.
  7. I meant Duality. I guess Iron Wheel for Armor so you're even tankier. Hell, lets do this. Going to make a group of 5 Monk/Beckoners in heavy armor and Max Dex and Con. Later on with Dichotomous Soul you get even more summons.
  8. Monk/Chanter. Key idea: Turning Wheel. Intellect bonus. With Turning wheel, it's possible to hit 30+ int, at which point all of your summons have double duration. Play Beckoner/Nazpalca or no subclass. And with 10 wounds you can keep 2 drakes permanently in combat. If one of them dies, it gets reborn. Just summon the drakes and micro them. You don't do much, but your drakes do a lot. Enjoy.
  9. Chanter summons have a 40 second duration with Int at 21-22. They're also free to summon and don't get bonded grief.
  10. Liberator is fine. Celebrant is meh. The priest isn't any good until lvl 8.
  11. Does the Chanter's lightning spell work with Lord Voulgt's and Deltro's Cage for +5 Electric Power Level?
  12. The problem with ranger is that chanter summons are tankier and do significantly more damage.
  13. Paladin/Druid with Blackened Plate Armor. Cast rot and corrode and poison spells and insect swarms. Druid has more corrode spells than wizard.
  14. +2 Penetration and intuitive strikes and extra crit damage with Devoted. Combine it with Heath Orlan and it's even better. Confident Aim, Armored Grace, Weapon Specialization, etc. etc.
