  1. Nice try Boeroer. It's true and you know it. I think you quoted the wrong person too.
  2. No, is clearly a disadvantage. As intended. You lose Persistant Distraction, for one.Well Boeroer is making it sound like a non issue...who do I believe?! Both of us. It's pretty much non-issue if you are ranged. And as melee you can probably work around it by charming a foe nearby, thereby gaining flanked status on the enemy in melee. It's a penalty. A minor setback. Not the end of the world ;-) Hehe I know I'm being facetious. I think these new subclasses will take some tinkering after release. Current Rogue subclasses are already strong so it's all good.
  3. I usually play diplomatic / clever chars and I always take him out via the piano. It just seems so wrong to let him live.
  4. I like Priests for flavor but they don't have the appeal they had in PoE1.
  5. She speaks too slowly and I'm done reading before she is even close.
  6. My biggest qualm with that questline is...why do anything else but blow up the piano? It's hilarious and clever but it's soooo easy compared to all the other options. I mean I guess you could spare him but that makes you look like a royal wimp.
  7. But why do you say that Boeroer? All the Rogue subclasses as they stand are better than the vanilla Rogue. Same with Fighters. On the other hand, there are subclasses worse than vanilla like Barbs (except Beserker) and Wizards. So with what you said the opposite is actually true in most regards - either a sub class is worse or better than it's vanilla counterpart, not equal.
  8. A persistent online RPG is different than a single player RPG is the distinction I'm making. No one knows about Deadfire. My friends even forgot. But they all know about Fallout 76. I'm not sure we are disagreeing. I am saying it's an mmo, but it's an rpg too. There is a craving for rpgs just most people would rather game socially now. Agreed.

  10. WoW is an MMO which isn't the same as single player RPG like Deadfire. However there are a few RPGs I would put up into the same echelon of pop culture popularity as WoW, including Mass Effect 2 (ARPG for the ADHD), Witcher 3, and Fallout 3. Most other RPGs are just known in inner circles imho. To me it's a travesty that of all the Mass Effects, ME2 is considered the best, when I personally felt it was the Michael Bay-equivalent.
  11. no they don't, there seems to be a trend of guys who think they know how stock market works in relation to their hobby and they're all wrong in the same way, by thinking consumers have some kind of leverage and that the stock market is a democratic system or something where companies rise and fall based on their excellent products or what have you (hahahahaha). i have a few ideas where this kind of market analysis is coming from but its extremely incorrect. wall street investors are not carefully keeping track of every electronic arts release and measuring fan reaction lol thats not really how finance works man i know that narrative conveniently fits into a particular worldview that assumes you have a lot more power by complaining on steam than you actually doWhen a company reports lower than expected sales on a flagship title, lower sales = lower revenue = lower guidance and this is a major reason why investor's sell. That's how finance works, mate.
  12. Why not just run a Mindstalker if you want a Rogue charmer? Sounds like a ton of hoops to jump through for the Debonair. At least for now.
  13. Hahaha oopsy! Let us continue our convo elsewhere Vampiro (can I call you Vampiro?)
  14. Falling stocks don't hurt companies? I want whatever good good you're smoking brah haha. And if you know about stocks you'd know EA has already passed it's 52wk low, which is a big deal. So yes, falling stocks do hurt companies and those stocks fall because of high profile flops. Gamers wasting $ on a crappy game only encourages them and hurts gamers in the long run.
  15. lmao think this just shows up the limitations of ambient dialogue. sometimes is better for unimportant characters to just stfu.Certainly that person should have either continued sleeping or been hostile, but the problem is not that the reaction was not appropriate, but that it was not appropriate in particular way, i.e. he/she started talking about ME, and that is so because everyone likes to talk about ME. That is what I find mildly disturbing.News moves stocks. When companies get hit with bad news, it moves their stocks, regargless if the company is making money. Look at Activision Blizzard falling solely bc of the Diablo Immortal announcement. Deceptive business actions and missed estimates will hurt a company even more.
  16. Obsidian is not very clear in their systems, or writing. Even the ability descriptions can be vague, almost comically so. It's why I harp on the writing.
  17. If you indeed feel like that, it means mega-corporations succeeded in their campaign to indoctrinate the gamers. "Games as services" is much more convenient for corporations, hence populous better begin to believe it's exactly what populous wants. Early access and games released in beta stage (e.g. Fallout 76) support what he is saying and I agree. It's not what they want us to believe...it's reality and the companies are doing their best to obfuscate it. But take a look at EA stock for example...this type of bs practice is hurting them and allowing better companies like Take Two to rise to the top. Bethesda is next - about to be cut down at the knees. When all you see is gold, your mighty castles will burn.
  18. That's the thing, though. I'm not even sure there's a single ranged weapon in the game that Arcane Archer's bonuses will apply to. The two obvious candidates got completely ruled out (assuming this is an intentional design decision rather than a bug), so it's very likely every other ranged unique won't work either. There is one final thing that should probably be tested, but I'm no longer interested enough to do it myself. Would Arcane Archer's bonuses apply to Wizard/Druid elemental spells/shapeshifts? I wouldn't be surprised at this point if it's a no, but it's worth testing. Hate to say it..but typical Obsidian

  20. Plus it has stiff competition as the Rogue has some of the best subclasses. The way Im looking at it is, if you want to make a charm bot you can go Mindstalker.
