  1. My favorite ship setup is: Dhow 3x double bronzer one side 1 haefric nose 2x royal bronzer other side or haefric+2x iron thunderer red dream hull dragonweave sails living steel anchor (from scalowags pack) gives like 110 hull health, 55 sail health 75 meter combat speed and a 2 turn jibe for the cannons - what more do you need?
  2. Paladin has great passives, greater lay on hands, shared flames and inspiring beacons +40% damage to enemies in aoe lols
  3. I recommend wizard/priest of skaen for that. Or a Wizard/chanter - but with chanter would require more defensive stats since they have to be in the frontline to cc while a priest/wizard can be in the back or midfield and throw aoe spells and you have more variety in types of spells you can use as wizard/priest for every situation. You want to multiclass to get the advantage of multiple extra casts per encounter playing a multiclass instead of solo wizard though. An in priest you take fire offensive spells that also debuff the enemy while doing some fire damage, interdiction etc. This is a good guide to building up a wizard/priest https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/102648-class-build-solo-11-potd-thaumaturge-priestwizard/ built correctly wizard/priest is a very and very flexible cc/support caster. Edit: my 2nd favorite spec is geomancer (wizard/ranger) for cc duty. Maia can fill that role actually. You use ranger accuracy bonuses and abilities that gives rangers bonus accuracy vs single targets and throw debuffs on the enemy that way which always hit because you have very high accuracy through ranger. but overall I like wizard/priest slightly more because it has insane versatility and adaptability for every situation.
  4. I have unlocked lvl 15 locks at level 7 character it is possible ... so put a lvl 99 lock on all merchant chests to troll people?
  5. based on hoe game data works I imagine all your abilities are changed/updated upon loading a save and areas are updated once you enter a new area.
  6. You can sacrifice Sagani for another +4 total (+3 ranged accuracy/+1perception) Streetfighter really good dps but probably not suitable for ranged squishy bow user as you need to be flanked and bloodied to get those bonuses Edit: also if you use stuff like Fleetbreaker or Spearcaster you will get insane accuracy bonuses by adding to arcana skill from those crossbows/arbalests greatly increasing your accuracy and crit chance - you can probably get over 200 accuracy with the bonuses from Spearcaster or at least as much as with Arquabas modal on without sacrificing the reload time the arquebus modal requires
  7. Yeah I mean warbows in general are not that great except for the looks maybe. Saint Ommaku's is kind of decent if you pump survival skill for extra damage on it but even it falls short of Hunting bow with fast modal on. If you care about dps and bow use Ammiina's Legacy Hunting bow and go dwarf ranger lol (that bow has a bonus racial for dwarf and stun on hit) to get something like 15% stun on hit (not crit). Combine with monk and you have good dps and stun all day long.
  8. You'll get "the long pain" relatively late as a multiclass and until then it is definitely no powerhouse since wizard is also one of the classes that starts out slow but get better and better in late levels. stuff like rogue, barb, paladin are definitely more frontloaded with rogue / fighter the most frontloaded classes in terms of abilities.
  9. have the console interface open, go to inventory and right click on grimoire to examine the grimoire. the interface of unity should switch to a view with the spells in the grimoire which you can edit like you would ant armor or weapon.
  10. rip Feedback: Everything that hasnt been adjusted is too easy. All Bounties, all dragons everything, all other sidequests, all storyfights (i.e. the faction quest that makes you kill some of the bigshots) On my second run (still without a custom party) i literally auto attacked the (last)guardian to death only using aoe heals for supp (thank god for crits getting bonus pen tho..) Auto attacked all bounties as well, even the ogre was a complete pushover. The casters in the guardian fight dont aggro correctly btw. They always just stand on the side and i kill them after the guardian is dead. Same with the ghouls in the boss fight on the island south east of the map. individual fights on the island southeast of the map were challenging but mostly because of arcane dampener (and its added bonus effect of ruining self buff AI based on "does have inspiration NOT -->then cast ...") also the paladin abilitiy that is supposed to supress enemy effects doesnt work correctly against their charm. For some reason it removes charm once, but the character can get charmed again while the paladin buff is still active and casting it on him again doesnt remove the charm. and the bloody spell that casts huge aoe damage + CC on melee hits. Next time ill bring arcane dampener myself and decent OffHand ranged weapons.. ^this might also be just a really weird interaction with arcane dampener... it does work with the rank 1 priest spell tho.. soo *shrugs* most importantly it was BORING compared to dealing with the added pressure that all the revamped enemies bring with their bonus abilities which is just such a huge gamechanger and actually forced me to do more things that just slap down a heal and nuke easy to kill priority enemies. All difficulty that is currently there, which isnt much, (in the areas that werent adjusted) is based on inflated armor, defenses (especially against all spells that dont target deflect or will) and gunners doing stupid amounts of damage. It feels about as engaging as the surprise paralyze spam in WM. So feel free to fix those and add more interesting mechanics. the Fight against the MenPwra (with a ton of added cleaving constructs, and a slime) or whatever their name is in the area where you cleanse the corrupted adra pillar was the best fight in the game. It had interesting mechanics that forced me to play smart. Keep the cleaving dudes busy, interrupted prioritiy spells, fun stuff good times. ^That was the benchmark for a good encounter imo. All the reworked encounters were really good tho in the end! All the more reason for me to be disappointed in the rest of them. Yeah the MenPwra fight, Lighthouse on Hosango, and the Docks in Splintered Reef (after you take quest from Copperhead) are the three best fights in the game currently. Honorable mentions would be: Druids in Sayuka Rotten Lady (if you choose to fight her) Fampyr Cave * still good wiothout tweaking though Fampyrs good get more hard cc abilities just to annoy you even more, since everyone now uses charm resistance aginst them. The following fights could be even greater with slight adjustments: Concelhaut - needs better ai (what happen if enemies don't move away from sigils and "bunker up" against you? Lucia Rivan and other "endgame" fights - I think here it is a matter of stats to make enemies tanky enough and also do good damage to you Fire dragon, dragons in general need serious penetration buffs to their "elemental" attacks. But in general large slow targets are easy to take down in this game when your dps stun locks them with deadeye.
  11. Valians - Athens RDC - Sparta Huana - Persia Principi - Sicilians ?
  12. This is the thing I am talking about. How to be a true "assassin" and really "assassinate" the queen. Hardcore Deadly Deadfire installed by the way for the sake of it no other mods.
  13. I mean I am personally more of a rogue than a monk fan. But I tried that Thunderous Report from Kitchen Stove trick with an Assassin/Ascendant from stealth and result was like 250 fire+250 shock (500 damage) in a large cone aoe at the start of fight. so you get like a 400-500 aoe damage cone nuke as an assassin/cipher 1/encounter. There might be a better class than cipher to use that combo with assassin+something else, but cipher is not a bad choice as it instantly gives you max focus and the extra damage addition from soulwhip adds to the assassin alpha strike.
  14. with unity console mod from nexus you can inspect any grimoire in game and change the spells in it edit: here in an example I modified ecea's grimoire to have only useful over-powered spells for you solo lol-wizard.
  15. Have a priest cast salvation of time on a cipher under time parasite + borrowed instinct and watch the fun.
  16. Yes but obviously no-one though int/salvation of time etc would boost the time of the +50 deflection bonus that long.
  17. Problem is that Vaporous Wizardry Grimoire sucks ... you hardly use the spells in it. Nothing comes close to the usefulness of Ninagauth's spell selection which is nicely fire/ice tunes and you don't have to worry about taking spells with your ability points and just get nice passives. Ninagauth's, Torn Bannerman's, Blood Soaked are good grimoires, for example, the others are hit and miss with the spells they have.
  18. If you take vanilla companions you get like Eder+Xoti etc I think Potd upscaled + deadly deadfire (normal) is well tuned. Maybe add the pet mod that gives you a pet that prevents powers scaling on your party into the stratosphere at high levels: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/83 That mod is good with normal deadly deadfire and potd upscaled. For a full custom party/ fine tweaked I would suggest the hardcore version of deadly deadfire though. But even with it if you build your party right with enough defenses and heals ai can win the game for you at the end even with that mod installed.
  19. The Red Hand (inactive slot)+Kitchen Stove!!!!+ any good small shield or shield that does not reduce accuracy too much for defense (active slot)+electric helm!!!!+ elementalist's bracers!!!!! (cast jolting touch)= 40% lash on thunderous report = big damage don't feel like elaborating as this may not be in 1.2 as it is now but it can be done and is not class specific really. bye bye queen - Potd upscaled deadly deadfire HARDCORE version in one shot
  20. I think pistols and their rapid modal work best with one handed style. Like enabling the rapid reload modal when using only one pistol like Scordeo's or Ennca's.
  21. if you go blunderbuss there are 2 good ones: -kitchen stove you get it when you complete a mission in Delver's Row/Undercity of Nekataka -you get mission from Prince at main palace however asking you to investigate the undercity -fire in the hole - you get it when you finish Serefen's personal quest
  22. I mean let's take the soulbounds we have into consideration: -Lord Darryn's Voulge - one of the best two-handed weapons in the game, we will see if that remains to after 1.2 but due to the fact it deals pure shock damage it allowed a two-hander to compete with dual saber setups on melee dps. Also it's mob aoe damage is unparalleled except for maybe the other Pollaxe in the game or something like endgame Engoliero de Espiers but so far the Voulge was better. -Modwyr - best in slot weapon in it's class (one handed sword) because of how much it buffs action speed and elemental lash when fully upgraded. (when dual wielding) -Blightheart - "nice" early superior arquebas. But definitely slightly worse than Dragon's Dowry and far worse than The Red Hand. -Marux Amanth dagger - Boerer is correct it is a nice weapon on a priest (offensive-fire) but part of me wonders if Xoti's Sickle and Lantern are better things to have equipped even on an offensive priest. Maybe Sickle+Marux Amanth? Magistrate Cudgel - I mean this thing can also be upgraded to superior early and you can get a lot of mileage on it throughout the game, therefore. Late game I have finally switched to Mohara Toga+Tuitilo's Palm on my monk-x (chanter) tank. But that is after I had the ingredients to upgrade the Mohara Taga to Legendary. Mohara Taga, since no one else in my party is using it is the superior weapon no questions especially at legendary, but in terms of weapons for your tank the choice between Magistrate Cudgel Shattered Vengeance Resounding Call Bardatto's Luxury Kapana Taga Rannig's Wrath All of these 6 weapons listed have their strengths depending on how you build your tank but the Cudgel probably comes out on top before you can "seriously" upgrade the other weapons because you get it to superior quality really fast and it has high base penetration+ accuracy buff. In my mind only Mohara Taga is currently clearly better than the cudgel and only if it fully upgraded.
